There isn't enough time!

We're going to WDW Sept. 30- Oct. 8 and we keep finding neat things to do and we don't have enough time to do them. I'm still worried about having enough time in the parks (Epcot worries me more than anything) and then I keep hearing about things like the campfire/sing a long with Chip and Dale and I go back to my schedule and try desperatly to find a night where we can squeeze it in. I have to stop reading these boards because I'm making myself crazy. My husband says we can do that on our next trip but I'm want to do them this time. Sorry, no real questuion here, just a vent.

My last two trips with dh we haven't made it to PI one single night. We also haven't made it to the campfire at FW. Both trips have been the week of July 4th...super late park hours. Our next trip will be the end of Sept or Mid December (07) so I'm hoping to fit in a few extras with the parks closing earlier. Have a great trip! :teeth:

Don't try to fit everything in, it just won't happen. Even if you do schedule it all, you know the saying, "the best laid plans of mice and men..."

Put some stuff on your "next trip" list and then you know for sure that there will be a next time!!

Happy Planning!

We only start with the "must do's" than do add ons if time allows.

Have fun, many things are do-able at that time of year.

Oh you sound like me last time!!!!

I drove our whole family about round the bend! And I got frustrated when people weren't moving fast enough.

Decide what you MUST do and then make sure that you have relaxing time. Remember that it really takes awhile to get from place to place in WDW and allow for that - for example the boat from MK to FW (the campfire) takes a minimum of 30 minutes and thats if you don't really have to wait for it to arrive!

I felt the same way you do on our last trip to Disney. We just got back last week. We were at Disney from June 9th-15th(almost a week). There is so much to see and do at the world that it was overwhelming. It is hard to decide which things to do for this trip, but always know that there will be more stuff to do the next time around if you don't see it all this time. Disney is so huge and you could spend weeks there trying to do everything. Don't stress yourself out and just know that going to Disney and being together is what is important. :sunny:

Hi Sandy,
If your really looking forward to the campfire then make time for it this year and take something off your list and put it on for the next time. Dont freak yourself out over planning a trip...its not worth it... I know how stressful it can be but sometimes w/ all the planning you can do it just gets thrown out the window when your there... Keep reminding yourself, your going on vacation and this is supposed to be a great happy time not stressful.
My advise; sit down w/ your family : Make a list of all the MUSTS for you and your family and then write a list for the "IF WE HAVE TIME" and another list for "NEXT TRIP"... I promise it will all fall into place and you will have a great time! :) :Pinkbounc  :cheer2:  :rotfl: :goodvibes :cool1: :thumbsup2 :sunny:

I agree with everyone else. You'll detract from the things you CAN fit into your schedule if you try to over-extend yourself. I am travelling the same dates as you, BTW. :)

This one is hard for me too. There is so much I want to do and see since our last trip in 2003. But last trip we only had DD who was 3 and there was 2 of us and still we didn't do everything we wanted to do. Now we have DS who just turned 2 and he is a handful! I have already put things on the list for next time because there is no way to do everything. DD is 6 and really wants to go see Cirque De Soleil but I told her next time. I"m like the Disney drill sergeant with my family. I get stressed out a bit during this kind of vacation. This time we are staying at Poly so I have to plan on some down time since we are spending extra dollars for the resort. Glad to vent about this! :)

It will be our third time to wdw and there is still some things we haven't seen or done yet!! AND last year we were there for 11 days!!
You'll go back...I'm sure as we are going back again this year!
We only have 6 days this time around but I'm doing 1 park a day and some activities that we haven't done last year...and some pool/rest time too!

Can't wait!

That's what most of this upcoming trip for us is about. We plan on hitting the "Saved for another trip" type things.

There are some things the kid's will roll their eyes if I mention doing, that we haven't done in awhile or never at all. So I'm even thinking many of the things I would like to do this trip, will be thrown out the window, once we get there.

Our last trip was the best, because we didn't push too many things into our trips. We aren't TS type of folks, but due to the Free Dining Plan, this is now being fit into our trip.

I had the other members of the family, give me a list of must do's at each park. I will fit in as many as we can, but what we miss we miss. I am gearing myself and group up to- it will be another unstressful trip. :cheer2:

You're right. There's not enough time to do everything at WDW on one trip. Even if you take several trips and rotate schedules, there'd still be new attractions/restaurants/activities to try. WDW is a huge place with so many fun options!

For every park you are visiting, have each family member pick 2-3 attractions in that park to experience. Think of any extras that you can fit in as a bonus. :sunny: You will fit in more rides if you get to each park at opening time. You can use EMH if you are staying on site, and that'll buy you more park time.

For non-park activities (like the campfire, a resort dinner, parasailing, swimming at a water park, etc...), decide which you *really* want to do on *this* trip and then you can do a different activity at your next trip.

Have fun making your plans!

Go with the attitude that there is not enough time to see everything. Pick your priorities. If you worry so much about "seeing it all", you won't truly enjoy your vacation.

There is no way to do it all. We make a list of the things we want to do most, the things we would like to do if time allows, and extras. Anything we don't fit in, goes on the list for the next time. Don't stress over missing things, if you do, you won't enjoy all of the wonderful experiences you will have. Have a great vacation!!! :yay:
