There is no way of switching your home resort right??

I already know this answer, but just figured I could dream

We bought at BLT, then added on at BLT, without ever staying there.....

I know we will love it, but I would really love to do a split stay at the beginning of december 2010 for our honeymoon between VWL & BWV....As I have found out from countless hours on this website, that will be virtually impossible!!

You bought a real estate interest. Just like buying a house, but the purchase ends at a point in time. You can't just change your house because you don't like it any more without selling it and buying another.

Its not impossible to get just difficult. Call exactly at 7 months out, be on the phone when they open and if nothing is available, wait list.

We were able to stay at the BW the first week of December by calling the day of our arrival. We were going to stay off property but took a chance and they had an opening.

So wait list can work.

If you know you'll love it at BLT, then why try to switch your home resort because of one trip, out of the dozens you'll take over the life of the contract? Yes, it's a honeymoon, but it's just one vacation.

Depending on when your trip is planned, you might be just inside the 11-month window for those resorts. You could rent reservations from VWL and BWV owners, and then rent out your BLT points to cover the cost.

I don't think what you want is impossible. Call right at the 7 month mark, waitlist if you have to, and I think you have a chance to get it.

I've gotten a few days (3 weekdays) in a preferred/garden view BWV studio for around December 19th at much less than the 7 month mark.

PS. The first week of December is harder, probably because of the annual meetings and parade taping, but still, if that's what you want, try. BLT will be great too, but you know that!!!

Very well put. It is just one vacation.....it will be magical no matter where we stay.

You'd have to sell and buy. DVC has chosen not to let you switch it out to change resort. Some systems allow such a change with a new retail purchase. I wouldn't give up on the other December options so easily.
