There is no 15 minute FP+ preboard

We sometimes get in FP+ line just a couple minutes before our actual time, but this past August we had to wait until exactly the correct time to get into Pirate's of the Caribbean. We tried 2 minutes early and it didn't work that time.

We always use our FP for an attraction right near the end of the time window that way we can go straight to the next FP without waiting so we never encounter that problem.

How did you get thrown out of a line that you weren’t in to begin with? Just wondering. I consider “in the FP line” to be after I tap my band and get a green light.

I wondered the same thing. Though someone earlier in this thread said that the Navi FP line extended way past the FP tapsiles. I've never seen that happen, but I am sure it does (and thus the report earlier).

The only times I have seen a line pre-FP tapstiles is when a group that doesn't have FPs is trying to enter the queue. And the CM has to explain they don't have one, etc....

We just got back and I swear at every FP line we went to, there was a group holding up the process because they were trying to get in too early/too late and having lengthy discussions with the CM.
This always seems to happen to me too. Really bugs me when the CM's end up waving these groups through 95% of the time.

Not defending the OP here but they said it was FEA, which has, at times, definitely had a FP line that extends way outside the first scan, especially if there has been any sort of ride stoppage or closure. We did FEA via FP a few weeks ago and the line started back by Akershus. Took forever!

Other than a couple of rides where the FP line can get wonky, I otherwise agree with y’all.

That makes sense. The line to get into the the line. Have experienced those but thankfully not too many and none too long.

Yep. Not sure why there are times on the FP if anyone can just check in whenever. What would be the point of the entire system?

i think you confused the 15 minute part, and your mind remembered it as before not after. Brian Williams and I have this problem too...

"thrown out of line" seems to be a bit of an exaggeration, no?

“Please get out of line and come back at 3:55”

FEA has a long rope line almost to Askerhaus so I walked past everyone and waited.

I know the 5/15 rule. Another poster on this board was insisting that in all of their multitude of trips and dozen’s of FP+ they “always” got in early. I’ve never tried getting in after my time because I don’t trust what other people say “always” happens. It is a cautionary tale.

Well, they probably did get in early. 5 minutes early. You tried for 10 minutes.

Just out of curiosity - did the 10 minutes make that big of a difference in your day or plans? I personally welcome when I get to the tapstile early, it means I can stop running for a few minutes and enjoy where I am.

No, that wasn’t what the poster said.

On the contrary. I welcomed the fact that I was correct. It doesn’t matter what other people’s experiences were no matter how much they insist.

Yeah we saw a lot of this too. We also saw a lot of this behaviour at lines to check in for our table service meals. Pretty much just people holding up the lines trying to argue their way in. Very frustrating.

Being politely asked to come back at your designed time is not what I would call "thrown out of line" but to each their own.

Perhaps a case of if it happens, great! But don't always expect to be able to do it? I've managed to enter with a FP 10 minutes late for sure, never tried being 10 mins early.

It's not only FEA, there are ropes set up for a designated queue to tap the FP for 7DMT and BTMRR also, we've had a long line for Space Mtn FP and Splash (when it was open) and there were a few other rides last week that I can't remember which had surprisingly long lines to get into FP, but after that point it was quick. It did not look like people were being rejected, just that there were so many FP given out.
