I was very shocked today from what came out of DBF mouth. I have planned the vacation mostly with checkin in with him of course. Usaully i get sounds good or whatever you think honey. I have the plans written down like which park we will attend each day. Not to much planning. Anyway i didnt think he was listen' like usual. Well yesterday he said with some excitment in his vioce " so what are we doin on Monday(oct 24) when we get down to disney?" WHAT i said to myself....Well I guess theres always hope for the men in our lives. :rotfl2:

I can understand exactly what you are saying because my DW is the same way. I plan the whole trip for months and she could care less about any of it. Nothing is a motivator to her or the kids. It is enough to make a true Disney fan to go insane.

Where is my Disney bride??

I am a man and I plan all the freaking trips/vacations in this family, including the Disney one. I am trying to get my wife to read Disboards so that she can get hooked too :) But I make all the plans, ressies, ADRs, chatting with Disney phone agents, look online, checking Disboards, etc.

I think you womenfolks need to know there are guys out here who are just as insane as you :)

My dh is starting to get really excited, too. He still has me do all the planning and all that fun stuff, but I'm surprised he's ready to go back next year instead of going somewhere else! This is a good sign!

Yes, I can relate. I do all the planning, etc & basically just tell him when to take vacation time. FINALLY after 7 years, my DH asked about DVC & AP!!! He is also talking about the things he wants to do this vacation. I can't believe I have finally converted him!!!! He is not a disney lover yet, but I am happy with disney liker!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

My DH can join your club! I (with DH in on the plan) planned a disney vacation, treating my awesome dsis and her kids to a trip (her dh is active military so can't come) in December. DH said we had to plan another "adults only" trip so we could do all the fun "grownup Disney" things prior to the kids trip so we would not mind if the kids wanted to ride ASSW all day! So, we are booked for four nights at akl in November, coordinating w/a business trip he has. (plus some time at US, eek) All his idea!

my 2 cents, I have always planned all trips even when I traveled frequently for work. My wife enjoys it once we get there but if I waited for her to plan a trip we would go nowhere....

I so totally understand. My DH just nods his head or goes "uh huh" when I tell him about deals I have gotten or specials going on. He more or less just wants me to tell him when to show up, at least that's what he says to me.

However, I recently over heard part of a conversation between my DH and a male neighbor who has never been to WDW, "Oh you need to talk to my wife, we get these really great deals..." ;)

So, I guess he's listening after all. Usually by the time we get to WDW he's totally into it though, singing the songs, dancing, etc.

We all know families who never vacation. I think it must be because neither spouse is a planner! I am the planner and always have been. But, this year after 3 decades of marriage, I find my DH reading the DIS Trip Reports! He's coming around, but it's a slow process... :earsboy:
