Sundays and Mondays. I'll be jumping on the Disney Fantasy on September 20th so I won't be at work on the 21st and 22nd. Will be back on September 28th.

Oh no. That means I'm missing you again this year. Have a great trip on the Fantasy.

We will be at the beach club in two weeks. This will be our first time there. I want to thank all the people on this thread. I am so excited about this year.s trip due to all the positive comments. I have had questions answered even before I thought to ask them. Everyone here is so welcoming. Thanks again for all your help. Can't wait to be at the beach club and Epcot!

Arrived home last night. What a horrible flight. It left Las Vegas on time and we were ready to land at Orlando 30 minutes early when they announced the airport closed due to lightning. We circled a while and then they announced we had to go to West Palm Beach to refuel since it looked like the storm wasn't moving any time soon. Off we went ... spent an hour on the ground at West Palm Beach and when Orlando opened up again, off we went to Orlando. Arrived two hours late and my poor Bob was waiting the whole time and he actually got there early because he was worried about Labor Day Weekend traffic. Then it took an hour to get the bags which were soaked.

Poor Bob has decided no more for him so from now on, unless he is traveling with me, I have to park at the airport and use the shuttle to and from long term parking. I can't blame him. We're 45 minutes away from the airport and last time they lost my bags and it was two hours filling out forms.

Looking forward to seeing all the Disers there tomorrow!!! Hope some are still around!!

Ughhhh! It's awful when you have a great trip that ends in such an exhausting way. Hopefully you can get some rest today before working tomorrow.

(Wish I was there to say hi to you tomorrow!)

Leaving the YC today. Actually waiting for DCL bus right now!! We loved the YC but I think our hearts are still at the Poly. I would definitely stay here again if it were for another 1 or 2 night stay. The walk to Epcot was awesome!!! Next year when we take the cruise in thinking of staying a night our two at BC. We'll see, in sure I'll change my mind by then, haha. Oh, and I love the smell of the lobby at BC!!!

We used to always have a family member pick us up from the airport until my poor sister had to wait an extra hour - twice -because either the plane couldn't get a gate right away or the baggage took so long to appear. So we started to use the long term parking, too.

We are looking forward to seeing you on the morning of Sunday, Sept 28th. It will be our departure day, so we have only one chance to get this right. :)

I know September is a typically slow time and that's why they offer free dining and things. But, it looks like BCR is completely sold out when I will be there in 3 weeks. I'm guessing this is because of F&W. Wondering how crowded it's going to feel in the resort and in the pool. Usually in September we have very low crowds. It's not unusual for us to be the only ones waiting for a bus, etc. Wondering if it will feel different from our other stays. ??
The Epcot resorts usually fill up during the F&W festival. And there are conventions and such going on, too. Keep in mind that the BC usually fills up most of the year. I bet that it is unusual for it not to be full. :) We've stayed there for years and we've always had to book early in order to get our dates, no matter what time of year it was.

Our stay at the YC overlaps your trip and I'm expecting things like the pools and the buses to be a little less crowded than they would be in a popular summer month, mostly because most kids are in school and September is a low crowd period. But I think the restaurants will still be busy. :)

Last day of our trip, we will be checking out of YC early tomorrow for the drive back to NJ. We have really enjoyed our stay here, watching Illuminations, then walking back and watching Frozen fireworks from the beach over the Boardwalk Hotel was great, the kids loved SAB, and the service has been great (although mousekeeping has been inconsistant with coffee replenishment. We booked BB free dining for next summer, but alas it is for POFQ, I can't justify non discounted YC rates for us, LOL.

I ended up asking housekeeping for more coffee during our stay after they forgot to refill the coffee supplies on our second day. Then I had lots of coffee. :rotfl:

I think that free dining is a good bargain when staying at a moderate resort. If we were to book the free dining bounceback, we would pick POFQ, too. But it doesn't work for us at a deluxe resort since there are just two of us.

Hi guys!

We got back late last night - of course today I'm doing the "vacation return - mound of laundry".

We had a wonderful trip!

After a not so magical check in at YC (finally got a good room on the third try) we had a fantastic gv room at the GF. 4th Floor, Conch Key - marina view with a great side view of the castle and Wishes!!!

Had a fantastic time at our Dis Meet! I ran into Scott again at the GF at 1900 Park Fare breakfast.

I booked a bounce back for next year. Never did free dining. Not sure whether I'll keep it or change to a good room only offer, but didn't want to miss out if we decided to keep the free dining offer. I booked at the GF but who knows where we'll end up!

Teena - what an experience. That happened to us one year - we were almost ready to land in Philadelphia and had to turn around to refuel in Baltimore because the weather was too bad to land in Philly! Hope you have a wonderful cruise!

HockeyMomR - I have to tell you the funniest thing. A few nights after our Meet I put on a pair of shorts that apparently I haven't worn in a few years. In the pocket was a note from thanking me for bringing your gift to Teena's "nanny shower"! Is that too much. Thought of you last night as we were driving through Baltimore - saw the big Domino Sugar sign!

Nettie - thought of you too as we drove through Lumberton yesterday afternoon!

Dee - I am soooooo glad that we FINALLY got to meet. You are really the heart and soul of the BC/YC thread!

Few quick notes - room at YC was in good condition, no complaints there. We did miss BC though. Strangely, we didn't miss CL like I thought we would. Kids are at the age where they would rather sleep through breakfast so we didn't use it as much as we did when they were little. Last fews years we didn't get as much value out of it that we did in previous years.

Had a great stay at the GF too. Rented a cabana the first day and that was a lot of fun.

I was really nervous about the MagicBands and FP+ but they worke really well for us.

Favorite dinners - Narcoossee's, Via Napoli and Artist Point. Loved the food at Brown Derby but had horrible service. Lunch at Beaches and Cream was so good as usual.

Any questions?

How far out do the bounce back offers go for next year?

We already have Dec 2015 booked (room only), but if I can get it cheaper with the BBO when we go in Nov 2014 I think I might change things to the BBO.

Are the BBO for packages or can I get room only?

I thought I should post a brief update about my youngest, even though it's off topic. The results of her cardiac monitor weren't what I hoped (fluke), but not terrible. Call out to Ninja Mom, since we discussed this in the lazy river (on topic!) - she had 6,694 PVCs in a 24-hour period. We get to repeat the joy of a holter monitor on a toddler in six months.

That's only 4.6 per minute so it's not bad considering her history. The good news is that she is getting the million dollar work up to make sure she is O.K. They will make sure that she has no other considerations that would cause any concerns. Most of the time PVC's in and of themselves are benign. Many healthy children (and adults!) experience PVC's. In children PVC's tend to decrease in frequency as they get older. What they are doing now is making sure that the PVC's are normal and not occurring in combination with some other heart problem.

I'm thinking that in time you will look back on this with the knowledge that this is normal for her and her current stage of development in light of her medical history and that you will be reassured that she was looked at so thoroughly and that everything else was ruled out. :thumbsup2

For the rest of you: PVC=Premature Ventricular Contraction of the heart. The heart has an electrical conduction system that follows a set nerve path way. This nerve generated, electrical impulse causes the heart muscle to contract in an orderly fashion. The individual cells of the heart also have the ability to provide electrical impulses outside of this nerve pathway. These cellular impulses can cause ill timed contractions. If the rouge impulse originates in the ventricles of the heart it is called a Premature Ventricular Contraction. Perfectly healthy people experience these PVC's without problems as a part of the normal functioning of the heart. However, sometimes these PVC's may be occurring because of other problems that the heart is experiencing. Tests are done to check for other problems and to make sure that the PVC's are just the normal everyday ones and not ones that are indicating that there may be other problems with the heart.

Good luck and I shall keep my ventricles crossed for you that everything works out just fine. :thumbsup2

Hello all!! We just booked our trip for my DH's 50th Birthday next year (Oct 2015). We booked a garden view room at BC. It's never too early to start planning right? :)

This year and last year, we stayed at BWI and absolutely loved it! We decided to change things up for next year and hope for good weather to give SAB a try. I'm excited because besides being there for DH's birthday, it will also be during MNSSHP and F&W.

While I have lots of time to plan and get through almost 200 pages of reading, I was wondering if anyone had any advice, tips, etc about BC??

Thanks so much!!

NM, thank your for this description. This more detail than i was ever given by my daughter's cardiologist. She was born with minor heart issues. She is almost 10 now and is perfect

Fantastic explanation, NM! Her cardiac nurse said they weren't too concerned and don't both with intervention until they're occurring much more frequently. She had a pacemaker implanted when she was four-days-old for complete heart block. You wouldn't know a thing was wrong with her by looking at her (or listening to her when she's got her screech on). They're just being cautious.

DisneyMomx7, I considered the BB, too. But I think we're more likely to go back after the dates ended. We didn't get as much use out of the lounge as we have in the past. It was perfect when we had kids who napped in the middle of the day. I'm glad you finally got a good room.

Teena - that sounds just awful. I despise flying so much. Even though our last trip went off without a hitch, I'm still thinking about driving next time. My husband doesn't care as long as he can still fly.

cocoabean1 - if I recall, the bounceback went through October 2, 2015. There was no room only offer, just the free dining.

Ugh. Horrible flight. The storms were pretty bad yesterday. It's such a shame you got caught up in it as the weather has been amazing the past two weeks.

I'm sad to say I am busy packing but am looking forward to meeting you tomorrow.

Yes - we got much more use out of CL when the kids were younger. I still love it, but just can't justify the increase in cost when they aren't going to get full use.

Also - thanks for the chocolates! They were delicious!

Teena welcome back. Had a horrible flight like that many years ago. Got in four hours late. My husband was coming in on a different airline from a different city. My dad was picking us up and I never gave him flight info. Just a pick up time and location. This was well before cell phones. Dad had a friend who worked for the airlines who found our info.

Major fail at Captains Grille tonight. Sent entree back twice. Spoke to manager twice. Cancelled lunch tomorrow which should have been our last meal.

Update. Checked MDE. The manager at Captains Grille has not cancelled our lunch. I have been to Concierge who have cancelled it for me. They were not impressed.

I know things are crazy for you right before you leave but when you get the chance please "dish" on what went wrong at the Captain's Grille. Have a safe trip back!

NM, thank you for the explanation. Sometimes we get to discussing things here on the Board and I have no clue what the issue is all about. Now I know.
