And Dee, I am heading off to my family reunion today as well. Just wanted to mention that perhaps while you are there you might bump into a helpful CM who just might let you take a few pictures of the temporary CL lounge....I mean, ONLY if you happen to know someone who might be able to do that .......

Today I finish all the wash, do some ironing, pack for my Tuesday trip to Jeanne's and Lily's, and do food shopping so Bob doesn't starve while I'm gone.

Can't wait to see you! Not sure if I will there tomorrow night in time since my flight is not scheduled to land until 5:25. An awful lot will have to go right. But if not, I'll see you first thing on Monday!

Ok...... I admit I haven't been paying attention lately, but when and where is the DIS meet this week? I seem to recall that it is this Monday (8/18), but I'm not 100% certain.

My DW is going to be away on a business trip this week, and I may drive over to meet everyone (it's less than hour from our house to the Y&BC).

Once the AP rates came out I switched from Pop with free dining to BC standard view for the same price. Granted we don't get free dining but we don't need all that food anyway. For us it is all about location. We have a two year old (at the time of travel) and really like being able to walk to a park/parks. We have stayed at BCV before but never the hotel side.

Since we are both teachers we have to travel during school breaks. We check in Dec. 19-24. Any BC Christmas activities going on during that time? My husband's only request was that we be home for Christmas. Also, I can't seem to find a good picture of the kiddie pool.

On Page 1 of this thread, I have the activities schedules from past years and for December it shows what some of the special holiday activities are at the Yacht and Beach Club. (Post 4, Activities)

Are you looking for pictures of the separate kiddie pool under the big slide or the shallow sand bottom pool near the Yacht Club side?

Could someone please help me? I seemed to be zipped up in Ninja Mom's suitcase and I don't mean the carry on kind either. It seems unless someone let's me out I'm going to have a less than magical journey to the Beach Club. Listen for a fly frantically screaming in a beat up suitcase with Epcot resort tags on it. I might be a little dizzy when someone finally unzips this thing and let's me out!

Had to share my excitement about 2 weeks ago I planned an extended weekend getaway to celebrate my moms 89 th birthday Did a split stay at CBR and YC well today is check in at YC. We get to the front desk and Scott says ooh I got a surprise got you what did you request online? The only thing I asked for was a higher room. Well we got a high room alright upgraded to CL!! mom and I are currently enjoying our evening hors d'oeuvres and a glass of wine! and I'm changing my FP+ plans for tomorrow so we can hang out at YC all day long! What an awesome weekend!!!!!

I'm DVC, but I've never been on the first floor facing the quiet pool, so I can't comment on noise. I wouldn't count on it being quiet, though. If you have young ones who will be going to sleep early, you might want to re-think this. Also, while you might be able to walk out your patio door and be right at the pool, that would mean leaving the patio door unlocked. You can't lock them from the outside. If someone is staying in the room, fine. If no one is staying in the room, I would not leave it unlocked. That's just asking for trouble. Also, do not leave the door open, because you might get a visit from a duck. And I'm not talking about Donald or Daisy.

Yachtsman was just ok. It was our first time there, and though we'd go back at some point, we won't be racing back. Flying Fish last night blew it out of the water. We then walked over and had a great view for Illuminations.
Last sleep at BC tonight, and then we check into Yacht Club....and see TEENA tomorrow morning!

Dee pointed you to the BC/YC activities and there are plenty of them to be sure. But walk to Epcot and you get all sorts of activities. Different Santa's in each land, special performances by the singers in the American Adventure lobby area, performances all day long in the area in Future World, and the list goes on and on, and I didn't even mention the Candle Light Processional! And that is just Epcot. DHS, MK, and AK all have there own thing. Make sure you stop at the GF to see the Gingerbread House. It's always a great time at WDW but December is really special.

Dee, I also want to add my thanks for all you do for us on this forum. If Disney only knew they would get you a room in the Presidential Suite but I hear that's currently occupied. Hope you and the rest have a great time. Know that I will hoist a cold one towards the south on Monday evening to wish all of you a great time.

Scott MC reported the Yachtsman as less than stellar but it is a favorite of the DW and mine and we will dine there again in December but if it isn't as good as it has been in the past we may move on to somewhere else. We ate at the Flying Fish once and have made the decision to choose other locations as we did not have the same fantastic experience Scott MC had. To each there own.

Hope those storms moved out and Saturday turned out sunny and warm. Also hope the rest of your stay goes well

I agree-everyone has different opinions!
Flying fish was good for me-not for DH(his fish overcooked)-so never again

I cant WAIT to get to the Yacht Club in Nov-so excited to be THAT close to the Food & Wine festival!!!! (and not have to take a darn bus home at night afterwards)

I will be at Logan later as well, but only to pick my mother up from her trip to Virginia. When you live 5 minutes from the airport you're always the one picking up and dropping off. I figure it will be a dry run for Wednesday when we leave!

August used to be hot! What happened??
When I picked up my DH at the airport Friday night he was chilly. Lol He's such a Floridian now.
