Hi Scott,
As for FPs she has to link you to her MDE acct as family/friends, once this is accomplished and you can see her plans on your MDE, you can copy your FPs to her.

Thanks! She got her ticket...we linked her up, but you don't seem to be able to just add her to our preexisting FP+ selections. Can I assume my only option is to sit with our list, put our friend in individually, and try to get her as close to our times as possible.

Which brings me to my next question. Is the window rock solid? Meaning, if your window is 10:45-11:45 for example, can you arrive at 11:50? Or would you be denied access at that point? I don't mean to try to scam the system, but I remember with the old FP system (that I miss), you had a grace window beyond the time printed on your ticket, and knowing that might make it easier for me to add our friend to our rides.

Thanks also for the tip about the room request. I think I might just suggest "Upper floor, pleasant view please." It has to drive the point across right? ::yes::

I'm starting to get nervous, just saw the thread with the poor reviews for beach club. Has anyone that stayed recently found it to be really worn & dated? This is a very special & expensive trip for us & id hate it to be ruined. Wondering if I should try to switch to another place.

Welcome to the Y&BC family pld5! I am keeping up with the BOG list until our list keeper Dee returns to the mainland. (I'm actually sitting in the AKL lobby listening to African drums as I type. Life is good.) I love WL but Beach Club is our home. I'm sure you will enjoy!

Thank you for the Welcome! We are really looking forward to it and can't wait to see how it compares to WL (for us), other than the obvious differences.

I'm sitting inside my house in a thunderstorm in Southwestern PA, so you sitting in the AKL lobby listening to African drums has me very jealous at the moment. Of course, my 8 year old is eagerly anticipating the Phineas and Ferb Star Wars episode in an hour (and maybe I am too.........)

Hey! You are off duty!!! We got home a couple of hours ago. I will catch up on the last few pages and then when I get the list from you I'll get everyone added.

Have a fantastic trip, Mike and thanks!

We are undergoing rehab on all the rooms starting this Fall. I've talked to numerous people that have been in our rooms over the past few months and all have been satisfied. Run down rooms occur in all resorts and when housekeepers and guests don't report it, then they don't get fixed. If a room is in really really bad need of repair at this point ... with rehab around the corner ... it will most likely be taken out of inventory.

If you should get a room that is worn and dated ... more than normal wear and tear that you find in any resort room that is not brand new or newly rehabbed, then I suggest two things: (1) call housekeeping from your room and ask them to have a housekeeping manager come up to your room ASAP to discuss the situation, OR (2) walk (do not call) down to the front desk and have them get the appropriate housekeeping manager to talk to you there. Depending on what the problem is, it will either be fixed properly or they will room change you.

I just stayed in the Grand Floridian this week and it was newly rehabbed. Our room was excellent. However, I overheard a man talking to a front desk person about wanting their room either fixed or moved. He said nothing worked, there was broken furniture, etc. Sounds to me like the guest before him had a wild time and the housekeeper obviously just cleaned the room and didn't report the problems so therefore it showed up clean and ready for the next guest. Bottom line is that you can get a messed up room anywhere anytime. I highly suggest not changing your reservation to another resort after reading some bad reviews. If you look carefully, you will find just as many bad reviews for each and every resort.

Just My Personal Opinion.

We are 116 days away from our 10 night stay at the beach club stay over thanksgiving 2014!!! We are so excited as we will also be celebrating my daughter's and her BFF 14th bdays as well!!! We've stayed at Beach club 3 times and have been to wdw 9 times but never this time of year so to say we are excited is an understatement!!! Any thoughts or tips about this week would be greatly appreciated and yes we got the free dinning with upgrade to deluxe and we are doing the candle light processional pkg and the spirit of aloha!!!

Definitely the Candlelight package. I'm not a fan of Spirit of Aloha ... food is okay but the show is way too long ... same thing over and over again. My family and I personally like Hoop Dee Doo much better. You might want to consider doing Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party too if it is running while you are there. It's so much fun and will get you in the holiday spirit big time! Allow time to visit the deluxe resorts ... so many of them have such beautiful holiday decorations.

Thanks so much, cocoabean1.

When doing this, do you ask for resort reservations when you finally do get to an agent and then tell them you'd like to add a room request?

Just want to be clear so I don't confuse anyone (including myself, lol).

AskSiri

No, I just tell them that I have a room reservation already and I want to make changes to it. Don't even have to ask for resort reservations. I do this all the time and never had a problem.

I never say anything to the automated system except "speak to an agent" otherwise you'll be on the phone answering all kind of questions. Then you have to give your name and address to the "real" person that answers the phone anyway.

You can have it. This stuff is WORK!
Seriously.....my pleasure. And thank you all that you do to help others!

We looked into mvmcp and watched YouTube videos and for the cost and the age of the girls it just didn't seem like it would be valued at this time though my parents and I definitely will in the future! We have already got resort hopping on our list for my parents and myself plus we have adrs in various resorts to see holiday decorations! The girls chose spirit of aloha because of the hot dancers lol and they thought hoopdeedoo was lame another difference in generations thing but since it's their bday trip I'm being really liberal! What about disney birthday cakes and in room celebrations!!

The birthday cakes are fantastic ... you should private message YCFAN ... she is the birthday cake expert on our thread. In room celebrations from the Disney Florist are amazing. You can call them and talk to them about it. I've seen some rooms decorated that blow me away!!!

The FP+ window does have a 5 min forgiveness I think. But not more then that. Def not like the old system.
I freq meet up with a friend in WDW, who is linked as family & friend. We've been able to copy FPs. I did this for our Aug trip for some later days as I am arriving first, ( we arrive 3 days before her) so window for FPs opened first for me, I did FPs for everyone. But because we have 2 week stays, I could only make FPs for her up to a certain point. Then had to wait for her window for last few days then went into MDE to copy FPs.
If it's not working for you, you may need to phone tec support. MDE is glitchy if it's anything  I've had to phone 3 time this year.

Awesome! We have 18 days til we leave. We are driving and stopping other places along the way. Then we arrive at Portofino Bay at US for 2 nights then on to the Yacht Club!

We leave on the 16th, and arrive at Portofino Bay on the 17th, when do you arrive there? It's getting so close I can't wait!!:banana::banana:

Doing online check-in right now.

Last year when we had the same category booked, we were able to request close to lobby/transportation and upper floor.

This year I'm only offered 4 options: large balcony, upper floor, lower floor, and ground floor.

:(

We really want close to the lobby/transportation if possible, and yes, I do know it's only a request.

Has anybody else had such limited options?

We're booked in BC, Garden View.

AskSiri

I did online check in for the Yacht Club yesterday and the options were ground floor, lower floor, and higher floor. That is one less option than the BC. ;)

Hi,

My reservation actually notes my request, this is from a confirmation I received recently - DISNEY'S BEACH CLUB RESORT
GARDEN VIEW
PLEASE NOTE: GUEST REQ. COURTYD/LK SIDE

When I do online check in, I wasn't planning on selecting anything else since what I really want is on my reservation. Do you think that's the right idea?
Also, since it's on my reservation, do I still need to call a few days before? Or will it automatically show up to the room assignor?

Anyone who may know the answer or have experience with this, please feel free to answer! :)

Thanks Teena! We will stay put then! I can't wait to be there!!!!

I will be honest, I read that post and also felt a little sick to my stomach. We are 9 nights in October - no discounts :faint: - and it's expensive! :scared1:

But my boyfriend and I were talking and he pointed out to me that I'm not really the type that is going to look to see if furniture has some scuffing, or if a carpet may be worn out from use.
I figure as long as nothing is actually broken, it doesn't smell bad, it's clean and the bedding looks nice, no mold in bathroom...we will be happy. :)
I mean honestly, if a room was really that bad, every person who stayed in it would be complaining about it.

It's getting close! We are leaving the night of the 15th and hope to be checking in around 2 or 3 on Saturday the 16th.

We haven't stayed on the YC side since 2008! I go back and forth on that one. When we originally booked only YC was open with our discount. Also we could only book a gv room with discount. I'm going to ask when we check in if we can pay to upgrade to a lv room since we really loved our lv room when we stayed at YC. Never stayed in a gv room at YC although my inlaws had a nice
gv room facing the wedding gazebo that was perfect!

Teena - since we are driving I will try to bring you some jersey tomatoes along with the usual - tastycake cakes and pies.
