Ninja Mom, you are hilarious! I love reading your responses on this thread!

Thank you but most of the respectable posters on this thread, alright the 2 respectable people who post on this thread, would probably beg you not to encourage me.

But!

Doesn't it give you a giggle that you now have a plan to upset the universe of the chair piggies? :cool1:

Excited for our stay this week at the YC!

I believe the answer is no, but do the fridges also have a freezer compartment? I have a super annoying injury to my tailbone and need to ice it after a long day of walking, so was going to bring my gel ice pack, but IIRC there are no freezers? My other alternative is to buy one of those rubber type things you can fill with ice, which is probably easy enough I guess. This stuff always happens to me at the worst times!
The fridge does not have an ice compartment. But the little rubber bags are very nice. And they seem to last longer than the gel packs.

I was just catching up on the thread after a few days away (my son had a small surgery and was recouping, but he's doing great :) ) and I have to say, the Crew's Cup was an unexpected delight when we discovered it on our last trip. My guys (3 adult men and 1 thinks he's an adult kiddo) simply loved the place (as did I) and that was one of the determining factors for our upcoming Yacht Club stay!

If anyone goes there, you really MUST get an order of the Parmesan truffle fries!!! They are soooo goooood. :thumbsup2 I think over 2 nights we had 5 or six orders of them.

One of the nights I got a steak and it was excellent and I think about $20 less than the steak next door at Yachtsman. Great value, and the bartenders there were wonderful!
I had the steak and I agree - it was excellent. We plan to go back there again on our upcoming trip. It is really nice to have a place that doesn't take reservations but always seems to have an open table. :)

This is hilarious! :rotfl2:

Did you report this theft to the authorities? This sort of thing happens all the time in my house. I have a feeling it was the food delivery boy... at least that's how it's probably happening here my house. It usually happens when I am too lame to get up myself and go over and get the big something delicious that I have hidden from the voracious hordes that populate my domain. I have a drawer in my house that is forbidden to all except me. It's where the Hershey's chocolate lives. The potato chips and the Werthers caramels also live there.

When the food delivery boys were little I could easily finger the perpetrator by the crumbs in the corner of their mouths and the smiles on their faces.
The next time you are a victim of a "croissant donut missing bite" theft be sure to look for those clues.

I have also gone to the trouble of making forensic bite plates of every house member's teeth marks, including the dog, who is frequently put forth as the primary suspect by the guilty party.... BUT those boys can't fool me! I know the dog doesn't have thumbs and thus cannot open the packaging unless it is chewed!!

~NM

I was thinking about reporting it, but being the main suspect is a police officer himself I didn't think I had enough evidence ;-) Plus once I got my hands on that little piece of heaven I forgot everything.

DH and I make frequent trips to Crew Cup for a snack or drink or what not. We love it. Every piece of food we have had has been awesome:thumbsup2 Bill the bartender may or may not know us by name:lmao:

Well then the next time you need a donut delivery to Storm Along Bay it should probably be done by this woman... she comes with her own supply so there would be no "stealing" of bites.

Hey Guys .... we are looking to book for our next May trip ...

Anyone have any indication, sample pictures, concept art, anything about what the reno'd rooms are going to look like OR how long it will take ?

We are looking to book for May 2015, and we like the more refreshed and polished look at Bay lake towers currently, but still like the idea of BC ...

Thanks all !!!

How exactly do counter service credits work at crew cup? Or Beaches & cream Takeout? I didn't think you could use counter service here but everything gets a little fuzzy for me between the snack and counter service rules. And is there good counter service at the boardwalk? Last thing-- I heard you can use counter service credit for Hurricane Hannah's. Is this true?

Thanks for clarifying!

Hi, We purchased the counter service dining plan for our trip and noticed that we get free refillable mugs. Do we receive those when we check in at the Beach Club? Or is there another way we get them? Thanks! :)

You get them at the Marketplace or Hurricane Hannah's. Just pick out the color mug you desire and bring them to the registers, scan your Magic Band and they are yours!

Here is a list of restaurants that participate in the dining plan.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan-restaurants.htm#ddp2014

If you click on a restaurant you'll be taken to a menu and it will tell you whether the restaurant participates in the DDP. The crews Cup Lounge does not participate in the dining plan. Hurricane Hannah does and it would be a counter service credit. The Boardwalk Bakery is considered counter service. I'm not sure about the Pizza window.

I read in a recent trip report that you can get a large pizza, 2 desserts and 2 drinks for 2 counter service credits at Boardwalk pizza window. That will feed all 3 of us!!!

Just a quick question. We arrive at YC at the weekend but don't land at MCO till near 7pm on an international flight. By the time we arrive and check in what food choices will we have? Just the BC marketplace that's open till 11? If so I think one of those flatbreads will have my name on it!!!

hello, does anyone know if it's difficult to get connecting lagoon view rooms in the beach club? anyone know if they are in a specific location? thanks

I don't know the answer to this and I'm not sure if the info is out there anywhere.

I believe that there is a priority assignment of connecting rooms for some reasons- maybe number of kids outweighing the number of adults, but I'm not positive.

:)

Dates are correct! thanks! I should also add that I am attending for the TOT 10-miler! So excited. For anyone else doing the race, I assume we can walk to HS from BC for the race? I know the starting line is all the way down at the HS entrance sign, but I am not quite sure where the corrals and pre-race area are.

I'll add the info about the run.

:thumbsup2

My family and I will be staying at the Yacht Club for the first time August 12-24 . We are so excited and so thankful for all of the information on this thread. What I am trying to find out about are refillable mugs and walking distance to get them filled- from what I have read here, you can refill at the Lounge in the AM, Marketplace at Beach Club and Hurricane Hannahs at the pool? Can anyone give me an idea in approx minutes how long it takes to get to these locations from Yacht Club? Thanks so much!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

Hello Everyone,

We are celebrating the great birthday extravaganza from August 29-Sep 3rd.

In the party will be MY DH (The only non-birthday person), my dd who will turn 3, my Dear Brother who will turn 24, and myself who will turn 30 :).

We are staying club level at yacht club, it is going to be so much fun :).

Official :welcome:

I'll add you to the list

:woohoo:

Sorry if this has been asked before - but can you request a rollaway bed if you're in a room with a daybed?

:welcome: to the thread!

Great question. I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but...

Teena, or anyone else- do you know?

:goodvibes

. Hi Natebenma! We are so excited we will be at the YC 8/16-8/20 could you please add us to the list? Thank you :)

:welcome:

Glad to add you to the list!

:yay:

:welcome: to the thread!

I have not seen any samples/concept art of the renovated rooms. All of the info we have is in the very beginning of this thread, first post on Page 1. I try to keep it updated whenever we get any news.

No word on how long it will take, or even an exact start date (I think October is my best guess right now)- starting on 5th floor with renovation and expansion of the club lounge and then working on the rooms in the Beach Club from the 5th floor down.

:thumbsup2

There's a FAQ for that! I'll post the link in a minute.

If you have been following the past couple of pages- there is a review of the food at the Crews Cup lounge. Pictures of the menu are included in the review and lots of people have echoed the recommendation to grab a bit to eat there.

:goodvibes

ETA: From Other Useful Info (Post 14, Page 1)

I'm arriving at the resort after 10 PM. Will I be able to get something to eat???

The Marketplace- Closes at 11 pm
Located off the BC lobby, enjoy salads, sandwiches and desserts from this Quick Service location.

Beaches and Cream- Closes at 11 pm
Located between the BC and YC resorts, step into this classic soda shoppe and enjoy mouth-watering burger and classic sandwiches and top it off with our famous kitchen sink dessert.

Martha's Vineyard Lounge- Closes at 11:30 pm
Located at the BC resort. Relax and enjoy savory appetizers and beverages from the full bar.

Crews Club Lounge- Closes at midnight
Located in the Yachtsman Steakhouse, enjoy a late night bite in this sailing-themed lounge that features beer and wine from the world's famous seaports.

Yacht and Beach Club Private Dining- 24 hours
Enjoy a light snack or casual meal in the comfort of your room or any public area of the resorts. Touch dining options from yoru room phone.

If you would like a full selection of menu items available 24 hours/day, consider visiting Picabu Cafeteria at the nearby Dolphin Resort. The Dolphin is a short walk (10 minutes) from the Yacht & Beach Club.

Here is a link to the menu for Picabu: Picabu Menu

I have read before SAB closes at 10pm. We will be there the last week of August. Any information on the actual close time? Trying to plan pool time after Epcot closes at 9pm, kitchen sink at Beaches reservation for 9:30pm. We wanted to swim after that. Thanks!

If you have a daybed already in your room, you cannot have a rollaway. There are all sort of fire/safety codes that prohibit it apparently.

We added a day on to the start of our trip! We'll now be at BC Aug 23-27 and going to the villains unleashed party! I'm so glad we'll be able to walk to and from the party and won't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic :)
