This is it, the night before departure. By this time tomorrow we will finally be in WDW, enjoying the BC and surrounding area. First park day is Sunday morning at AK, back to the resort to chillax, then dinner at the California Grill. And, I've planned a magical surprise for my wife to be waiting at our table. We plan on following up dinner with Wishes as seen from the Cali Grill lounge. :-)

Hope you have an utterly fabulous time. :cool1::cool1:

Running folks, when is the Princess Half Marathon, or whatever marathon it is that is run in January?

The marathon is usually the second weekend in January. It is the big Disney marathon with a bunch of races including 5k, 1/2 and full marathon.

I have 2 questions, the first mostly curiosity. Do the BC rooms still have the round seashell print pillows on the beds? I can never figure out why they are only present in half the photos!

But really, I could use some expert help! The only view available for my stay was standard. Ideally, I would love one of the full balcony rooms with a roof view that also look down over SAB or the boardwalk - I saw these on this thread btw as room 5703, thanks! Does anyone have any advice on how to phrase this for my request??

The other hiccup is if those are not available, I would like to minimize the chances of the dreaded roof only (edit- just straight flat non-shingled roof, I dont mind the shingled areas overlooking resort!) or parking lot view.

Thanks so much!

I'm not sure what the best way is to phrase your room request, so I'll leave it to others to answer that, but I will add one note of optimism for the parking lot view.

On our last trip we had the dreaded parking lot view overlooking the plain not-so-attractive roof of the Yachtsman. At first glance I thought our view wasn't great but when we returned to the room at night we had a full view of Wishes. Since we weren't usually in the room during the day, I thought the bonus of seeing Wishes at night was pretty great for a Standard View room.

We are arriving on the 19th after a quick 2 day stay at Universal now.

When we get there that morning we have a 9:05 ADR at Boma's for breakfast. I have my touring plan setup for that day at Animal Kingdom that starts at 10:45am and runs until about 2pm that day.

My question is, can I get in to the park without checking in at the hotel? We are staying club level so I am wondering, if I can't get in with out first checking in, will I have enough time to check in before our ADR? Out last check in was a breeze. Took all of like 5 minutes on the club level.

We were there in March and this is what the beds looked like:

And this is the only picture of have of the daybed.

I've read conflicting information about this. A ticket that is purchased as part of a package might need to be activated first. They can do this at guest services, so you won't have to check into your resort first. But to be on the safe side you can contact guest services or the club level iPO first.

Well, we made it, after our flight was delayed for a little over an hour. Arrived at the BC around 8. A CM greeted us by name as we came through the lobby and walked us over to checkin desk. We were wearing our MagicBands, we used them a few times to checkin for the Magical Express. There were at least 8 people who got off the bus at the BC with us, but we were the first through the lobby doors. I still don't know how the CM knew our names with out scanning the bands. Do they have scanners at the door, can they scan from a few feet a way? A little freaky, but cool. The CM at checkin was nice, but a little clueless. He asked if we were hungry, then told us that the only QS was at the Marketplace. Hurricane Hannah's was still serving out by the pool. And, Cape May, although a TS, was taking walk-ins. We walked around the resort to get our bearings, had an impromptu, expensive dinner at Cape May, and found our studio in the villas. The resort is beautiful, especially at night. However, I'm very disappoint in our room. It's large enough, with great views of the quiet pool. We even saw Wishes' high flyers from our 4th floor balcony. However, there's little storage space to unpack a weeks clothing. The closet bar is set half way down, and the bathroom has hand rails and walk-in shower with retractable bench, and there is very little vanity space around the sink. I finally realized very late last night that this is a handicapped accessible room. Now, they all might be, but I doubt it. I'm going to ask this morning. AK at rope drop, or close to it, this morning.

Hey gang :wave2: I'm in post-YC depression  I know you guys all know how it is, we had such a great time and now I'm just wishing I was back there again. I just finished my YC review yesterday, come check it out: https://erika_murphy.silvrback.com/disney-s-yacht-club-resort

Hopefully I can squeeze in another trip this fall for F&W! :thumbsup2

Erika, that was an incredible review!!!

Wow! That is the first time I have seen a menu for the rotating appetizers in the lounge. That is awesome! Thanks SO much for sharing that.

This is the first I have heard of the beer and wine cart (not grab and go) at the lounge. Anyone know if that is happening at BC, too? That doesn't bother me at all.

Thank you so much for the great info and beautiful pictures!

The beer cart is upsetting to us! We have little kids so dinner is always early. We usually stop by the lounge at 5 to grab a couple beers to put in our room so we can enjoy when we get back since it's usually just past evening hours. I wonder if they will still hand out a beer or two during the day for the pool hours? They typically would give you one or two in the afternoon when asked.

I bet they would- hopefully someone will check that out sometime soon. I don't think someone taking a can or two is a problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a problem with some folks trying to clear out the fridge of their personal favorites.

When I was there last week BC did not have the beer cart. It was self-serve. I saw Erica's pictures from her live thread before we had checked-in and thought BC might have one also, but they didn't. I asked for a beer in the afternoon and they gave me two without asking. I felt kind of bad because I only wanted one but she had opened both of them. Beer cannot be wasted, in my opinion, so I just HAD to drink both!

This is the first I have heard of the beer and wine cart (not grab and go) at the lounge.

When we were at the YC last weekend, not only was the beer and wine cart not self serve, but the evening cordials were also served by a CM, who was doing very "short" pours. The wine glasses were almost "tiny" and they were using standard small cordial type glasses in the evening. We also noticed that the desserts were very limited (no cookies) and that they took everything away at 10:00pm. The only things available were a few sodas in the cooler and coffee and tea - not even any water. They used to leave snacks (yogurt pretzels, gummy fish and trail mix) on the counter after they closed - no more. When we were there back in April, the beer and wine was not self serve but the cordials were, and they left out the snacks, etc. after 10:00pm. As the old song says - "things, they are a changin".

If they are going to continue this trend, we will probably not be staying CL any longer.

Does anyone know hoe much the pool noodles are at SAB? We may bring our own but if they aren't that $$ maybe we will buy them there. They are easier for the kids to use than the tubes.
Thanks so much! :goodvibes
