Just back from chaperoning an awesome tidepooling field trip to the Seacoast Science Center in Rye NH. Trying to psych myself up to take the first dip of the season in the pool- currently 72 degrees.

Views from room 3577

Thanks so much for the great pictures!!!

Would you mind posting those to the view thread or giving me permission to do it.

Thanks!

Ninja Mom has some great ideas for getting chairs from absentee chair hogs!! Maybe she should share again!! :rotfl2:

I did post a link to ~NM's Chair Piggy advice in the FAQ section on Page 1 and it is a few pages back on this thread as well.

:goodvibes

Does anyone have any experience sleeping in one of these day beds?

*snip*

So if anyone has any experience with the day bed or having a friend of your children along for the fun I would love your take on it!

79 days as of today. Can't come soon enough!!!!

Jay

Hi Jay

We had a room with a daybed (the one you picture) for the first time on our trip last July. My 15 year old, 5 foot 7 inch son found it perfectly comfortable.

:thumbsup2

Hi all... I saw this note regarding the BC on the first page of this thread. I was wondering if it still applies, and if the YC is also open 24 hours?
Note: Starting September 2010, on a trial basis, the BC CL lounge will be open 24 hours a day for coffee and cold drinks.

We will be driving up from Miami and I was thinking of stopping to pick up bottled water and soda.. however I will not need to do so if the Lounge is open 24 hours. Please advise, thank you!

I don't know about the BC lounge, but the last few times we stayed CL at the YC, the lounge was open almost 24 hours. They do close it for a while in the morning, mid-day and late afternoon to get ready for breakfast and then to switch from breakfast to snacks and then from snacks to the evening offerings. It did close every night about 10:00, for about 30 minutes, while they cleaned up from the day. When it did reopen, some snacks, sodas and the coffee machine were available. They only left out a couple of glass bottles of water and they went quickly. I would advise picking up some water for your room. When you check in they will give you the info about the times the lounge is closed.

Yes, both lounges are still open 24 hours, except for the cleanup/restock periods.

I know there was coffee out at 4:30 in the morning, as well as trail mix and yogurt covered pretzels, but I didn't really notice if there was water or soda. Since there is nobody working to restock the area overnight, they may run out of something before morning, suggested above.

:)

Hello everyone we are now at the beach house in S. Ponte Vedra so I don't have internet access just using data so when I get back next week I will post some more pics of the Newport Suite as requested. We had a great time and didn't want to leave but we are now enjoying our time at the beach. Hope everyone has just as great a trip as we did.

Thanks so much for sharing your great news with us. We look forward to hearing more and see pictures when you get back.

Have fun at the beach!

:cool2:

Testing my photo uploading capabilities - hopefully, pics of our room, 3577. Paid for garden view. Tiny balcony. Day bed (even though there were only 3 of us).

Love your pictures! The room looks exactly like ours from last June but ours had a full balcony! Your view from your balcony is beautiful!!!! Enjoy your stay. :)

Keep in mind though that there are two types of daybeds in the rooms. I believe on the club level they are all the new type (like in the picture just shown) but the other ones are smaller and less comfortable IMO. There is no way of knowing which type is in which room except by going and looking in the room. The person at the front desk cannot tell whether it is a new or old type daybed in the room.

Thanks my friend!! I will keep my fingers and toes crossed. Every year I have a wonderful angel on my shoulder looking out for my family and I each BC trip!! :thumbsup2

PS. How are you feeling?

Jay

where is the room view thread?

The room view threads for the YC and BC are in the Resort Photo Subforum. I have these links posted in the FAQ post (Post 13) on Page 1 of this thread:

I started up two View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

The purpose of these threads is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories (standard, garden, lagoon/pool) at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

Does anyone know if you need a ressie for beaches & cream if you just want to get some sundaes?? We don't even need a table. Just same delicious sundaes on our pool day! Thanks in advance!

After reading this thread, I am so excited that we will be staying at the beach club from Sept. 14 until Sept. 22. When I made the reservations, I requested a room near the Epcot side and with a full balcony. I know it is only a request but does anyone know if the Beach Club is good at honoring request. I am so excited about staying close to Epcot for the first time. We will be celebrating my retirement! Let the countdown begin!

There is a takeout counter where you can get ice cream and sundaes without needing an ADR. You can even get a mini-Kitchen Sink! (Of course, it's served in Mickey's pants, which is a little unappetizing if you think about it, but if you can get past that...)

It is with a very heavy heart that I tell my YC/BC friends that my mother passed away quite unexpectedly on May 29th.

It has been an extremely hard week for us.

I needed this upcoming vacation in July, but now it seems even more so. I made the comment that I was so looking forward to sharing the pictures of my four year old niece with the princesses with my mother.........to which my older niece replied, "now she can go along with us."

My mother was 86 years old and very active up until the very end.

I'll probably be on the boards a lot more now. Our trip is getting closer and it will be a good distraction. Thanks for listening. I feel like I know many of you personally. (Some I really do!)

Do you know if all the CL rooms have a daybed? I have been driving myself mad trying to find this out, and also where exactly the CL GV rooms are located. We are staying in a CL GV at the end of June. This will be our first time at the BC. I was told when I made the reservation there would definitely be a daybed in the room, but I have yet to find a picture of a CL GV room at the BC that shows a daybed. A few people mentioned in other threads there are very few CL GV rooms and one person said only one of these rooms has a daybed. It's very confusing! If our room does not have a daybed, will they give us a roll away bed?

Lots of :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc coming your way Nettie. I love the quote about her now being able to join you. It gives comfort. With school ending soon, and our August trip rapidly approaching, I'm sure we'll see lots of each other here soon, and I'm looking forward to it.
Rest, and be well. :flower3:

Teena or Dee can answer you better, but I fear you were given wrong information. I think, quite frankly, very very few CL GV rooms have a daybed. I usually find the staff at 1-407-WDISNEY to be delightful, but I never rely on them for reliable information about what actually goes on at each of the resorts.

At the BC, there are 9 garden view club level rooms, only one of which has a daybed. You will get a room with a daybed or a rollaway will be sent to your room.

I'm so very sorry for your loss :(. Big hugs to you and your family. We too had a BC trip planned just a couple if months after I lost my sister. The trip was bittersweet. But we too felt like she was with us the whole time!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Which request is most important to you? The full balcony would be the most important one for me since almost all of the rooms at the Beach Club are relatively close to EPCOT. I would word my request "Full balcony please. Room near EPCOT side if possible" If the location is more important, then "Room on EPCOT side, please. Full balcony if possible".

:woohoo:

According to my notes, there are currently 9 BC CL GV rooms. All have full balconies, but only 1 has a daybed. Disney will no longer book families of more than 4 people into this room category.

If you check in and your room does not have a daybed, you may request a rollaway cot and it should be provided free of charge, based on availability.

Nettie,

Once again, I am so very sorry about the loss of your dear mother. We are friends and family here and send along our sincere condolences to you and your family.

We just returned from a 7 night stay at BC. We really liked it - we were even lucky enough to be upgraded to club level, with an awesome full balcony and pool view (rm 5715). The pool was great, and the kids could have spent their whole vacation there if we let them. The offerings in club level were really nice, it might be hard to go back without it! (i say that, of course, not having paid for it...lol).
The only thing I'll say is that the cleanliness was leaving a little to be desired, which was a surprise to me in a Deluxe Disney resort (i've always had such great luck). Not the room itself, but the hallways....there were broken potato chips left in the same spot of the hall for 2 days, and little things like that. And some of those doors and casings are really beat up! It just detracts from the experience a little bit.
Overall, would return, if not for Stormalong Bay alone.

Thank you to all who replied! I am glad to know the roll away bed is an option. :-)

Thank you for the welcome natebenma. I look forward to learning and hearing all the wonderful things about the Beach Club. I will take your advice about the request to heart and call Disney to have the request added to my reservations. Thanks again.:banana::banana:

I'm sorry about the potato chips in the hallway. That should have never happened. Please write that comment in your survey that will be emailed to you to do in the next day or two. Yes, the doors and casings are beat up but will all be refurbed starting in October. Still not an excuse but at least it will be taken care of. The chips in the hallway needs to be addressed and putting it in your survey will get it addressed quickly!
