Oh no! Well wishes to Teena. We haven't had the pleasure of meeting you, but your legacy of Disney kindness is known even from across the Atlantic!

I have often seen it posted that YC is "cheaper" but when I go on the wdw site the price for YC and BC are the same. What am I missing? :confused3
(btw- my family is dead-set on BC for this trip, but for future trips I am interested in what sounds like a way to get better rate at YC)

It may be because we're from the UK? The cost of both to us is the same in the low season in August/September, but before that YC is cheaper by a couple hundred pounds.

I bleed Beach Club Blue but I would not hesitate or be disappointed at all in a stay at the YC.

Go for it! (And let us know when you book so I can add you to the Guest List)

:yay:

Thanks, will do! :goodvibes

Some bad news. Teena let me know that she is hospitalized due to more kidney stone trouble. She may be released tomorrow but will not be in the lobby Sunday or Monday as scheduled. She says she will miss everyone who is around. Ill keep you posted on how she is doing.

Oh no!!!!! :( Poor Teena!!! I hope she's OK. I will hopefully see her in a couple of weeks when I'm there. Bless her heart :grouphug:

I'm really aggravated I can't get an AP room at YC CL for June 3rd!!!!!!

Sorry, just had to say that LOL ;)

Sorry to hear this Teena. I hope you feel better fast.

I just LOVE when a trip takes real form!! I have been working on this retirement trip as if it were my full time job!! I have finally booked everything that will be happening on this trip with the exception of the Carriage Tour at the campgrounds and Cirque. I have called every other day re Carriage Tour and it isn't in the books yet... Will it be haunted or not... I want to book it either way so hopefully that will happen soon! I need to wait for DVC to release the special for Cirque (they still have summer offers up) so I can book that. I did book a Members Night at Splittsville so that should be interesting and fun! DH may want to drive a car at the speedway again... so I have to look into that. I bought the Christmas Party Tickets so we are set for that on November 10 (Marine Corps Birthday) OoohhhRahhh and Semper Fi to all the Marines out there!

Food and Wine is another thing that still has to be arranged once they begin releasing more info on that... a few things have come out, but as always it's usually August before booking events can begin. I did see that Boyz to Men, David Cook, someone from Styx and Big Voodoo Daddy will be there for the Eat To The Beat Concerts. A few of the events I wanted are coming back... so far the Parisian Breakfast and Sweet Sunday's (renamed "Sunday Morning's With...) will be returning.

Today we are under 100 days until our move to Dallas Texas! Excited YES I am!! I cannot wait to be closer to my daughter and son in law!!!

Happy Holiday Weekend to All!!

~N

As usual it sounds like you are on your way to an amazing trip. You must spend some of your post-trip retirement downtime to write a trip report for all of us to enjoy!

So sad to hear this. She just can't get a break with a nice healthy streak. Hopefully she gets better soon. Will be thinking good thoughts for her.

This is a good place to vent as we can all understand the depth of your aggravation!

We've never been to Fort wilderness before. Thinking of trying trails and one morning for breakfast. Would it make sense to try trails end on a Magic Kingdom day? Head over to Fort wilderness then go to the Magic Kingdom? What would be the best way to get to Fort wilderness from the Beach club resort?

Oh Noooo!!! Poor Teena :(. Praying for a quick recovery!!!

We haven't met Teena yet-hoping to in July but wishing her a speedy recovery! DH & DS have both had problems with kidney stones and know the agony they can create.

Quick question for momto3gr8boys and gometros: Anything in particular we should look for on the WAT? We are really excited to try it and want to make the most of it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Great job on the new thread! I just returned from my visit to the Beach Club and booked a bounceback for November. Please add me to the Be Our Guest List for November 16-23, Yacht Club CL. :yay::cool1:

Just checking to see if you received my reply to your email. Sent it to the email through the DIS, and didn't get a rejection, but I haven't used that process much...

:)

We went to Trail's End from the BC in March. We took the bus to MK and then the boat to FW. The boat brings you close to the restaurant. Give yourself at least an hour or more to get there, since you need to anticipate a 20 minute bus ride and a 20 minute boat ride with time for waiting added in. We love Trail's End but usually only eat breakfast there when we stay at WL. The Captain's Grill at the YC serves a very nice breakfast buffet and it is about the same price as Trail's End. Both restaurants will give a 10% discount for Disney Visa or annual pass holders. :)

It's been a while since I checked in with my Beach Club friends. Our plans for the summer are quickly approaching. We'll be arriving in Orlando on Friday, 8/1, and we are going to stay one night at the GF in Sugar Loaf before we head off to our cruise on Saturday morning. We'll be eating dinner at 1900 Park Fair, and we're hoping to get a view of Wishes at the end of the evening.

We'll do breakfast in the lounge, then have a swim before the bus comes to pick us up to take us to Port Canaveral. We have a concierge family room on the Fantasy, and we'll be visiting Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and finally to Castaway Cay.

We disembark on 8/9, and then we are heading over to our favorite Beach Club. We've got one night booked on the club level, and we have one day passes to Epocot. We should be arriving at the resort around 9:30 am or so and plan to head out to the park for the morning. We've got lunch reserved around noon at Beaches and Cream, then we plan to spend the afternoon at Stormalong Bay. We'll head back out to Epcot to have dinner at the Biergarten around 7ish. We'll watch Illuminations and head back to the resort for our final evening before heading home.

The trip starts in 9 weeks, 5 days and 18 hours.

Teena: Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I've had my share of kidney stones!

Has anyone ordered supplies from Amazon and had them delivered to BC for your visit? How does this work? How do you address the shipment?

You can ship to the Beach Club, but be aware that there's an extra charge for fedex or UPS because it's a Conference Center. This post has more information:

Can I ship a package to Beach Club or Yacht Club for my stay?

If you ship a package to the resort, Mail by United States Postal Service, not anything else!!! If you mail other than USPS, your items will be shipped to the convention center and the shipping department will charge the recipient a handling charge, based on the weight of your package.

Orders from Garden Grocer are delivered to Bell Services at YC or BC, so they are not subject to the resort delivery fee, only the delivery fee charged by the company. You can ask Bell Services to deliver the order to your room when you are there.
