Please allow me to introduce myself! My name is Amiee ~ otherwise known as ADSRTW or as my cohorts at work call me…Double E. I am very early trip planning stage. My first trip was in ’82 with my mom (around this time of year too!). Yes, I had a ball, but Mom is terrified of heights. The one ride that I was broken hearted over and still tease her about is Dumbo. She wouldn’t let me raise him up in the air!! I’m in therapy to this day because of the trauma. :sad2: I have visited WDW twice since then and still have not made it on the ride. I am dying to fly Dumbo with my kids to be the cool mom. :cool1:

Enough about me, let’s talk about the trip! Basically, I know I want to spend 10-12 days in Orlando next summer. I’m shooting for mid-July! We will be staying onsite – most likely POR. We will be on a DDP, but I am waiting to iron out the details until the revisions are released.

This is going to be a learning process for me since I am so new here. If I mess up, please know that it is not intentional!

For now, enjoy meeting my cast of mischievous misfits and I will be back soon with more info.

Cast:

Me – Mom of two very rotten kiddos. I never thought I would be able to afford a trip like this for them! I thought about staying off-site, but I want the total package. Plus I have a built in designated driver in case I want an adult beverage.

Francie (DM) – My mom, yep the one who refused to let Dumbo fly! I am taking Mom back for her second WDW trip. I am her only child.

Aunt Susie (DA) – Aunt to me and Great Aunt to my kiddos. This is her first trip to WDW.

And now moving on to the two cast members I am most proud of…

Ryan (DS) – Ryan is 9 years old and shares a birthday with DM. He looks just like his dad ~ glad he doesn’t act like him, lol.

Taylor (DD) – Taylor will be 5 by the time our trip rolls around. She is also known as little Amiee. I just don’t know where the blonde hair comes from. It breaks her dad’s heart that she is my twin.

Both Disney Kids have no idea that I am planning this special trip for them. I am going to have all kinds of small goodies under the Christmas tree for them to figure out what is going on ~ similar to a scavenger hunt.

More to come…

I’m at the point that I need to start making some crucial decisions for our trip. First, I'm tossing around the idea of using a TA or not to help plan our trip. The convenience seems worthwhile, but I don’t know if I can give up control. So over the next few days, I will be checking out Small World, Dreams Unlimited, and a local TA that some of my peeps at work have used for Disney. If anybody has any experience with TA’s please let me know your thoughts.

Second, I am debating on flying or driving. I can fly all of us on Southwest for about $1700 out of Louisville (about 2 hours away from home). I wouldn’t need to have a rental car for the entire trip, so it makes sense. We are going to be off-site for only a few days. I am nearly convinced that I need to fly instead of drive 15 hours.

Finally, I have to figure out where we want to eat. It is most important! I have a lot of food porn to review before making the final decisions. On big reason for staying on-site, is I have a free designated driver! Grand Marnier Slushie her I come!!! I am also going to try to get reservations for the Princess Breakfast at Akershaus and the Luau at Poly.

Well, it’s time to catch up on the board happenings. More tidbits to come!

I have a working list of where we would like to eat. I bet this will change quite a bit by the time the ADR window rolls around, lol. It will depend on what I hear on the board and from friends.

1900 Park Fare
Le Cellier
Boma
Donald's Safari Breakfast
Fresh Mediterranean Market
Garden Grill
Kona Cafe - Gotta have Tonga Toast
Mama Melrose
Raglan Road

Whispering Canyon
Akershus Princess Breakfast

Since we are going to be at WDW for so long, dining will not be taking away from park time. We are going to have a few days to visit SeaWorld (I hope it's still there), GatorWorld, Ripley's, and WonderWorks.

Please let me know of your experiences with my choices.
