There and back again... A disney addicts tale- Updated 9/18

It was time to eat as Tigger announced he was starving so we headed to Pizza Planet. Tink and I got in line to order some lunch and Dh took Lilo and Tigger to find a place to sit. We split a few pizza meal deals. Tink and I had a veggie and Dh had a pepperoni. Tigger and Lilo had cheese. The pizza was decent, the salads were fresh, they got Mickey crispy treats for later, not sure if we will eat there again but maybe. After lunch, we headed to Star Tours. The wait was only 10 minutes so we rode and then shopped in Tatooine Traders. DH got a poster of Tigger as the child Anakin in the podracer. He bought a Jedi Mickey for Tigger too. He also bought a few items for our dog sitters back home and a few items to add to his Star Wars collection. After this, I took the Lilo to see Beauty & the Beast Live and Dh took Tigger to see Lightening McQueen, just to find out that he wasn’t there. Tigger stood with Tow Mater for a picture but was very disappointed and Mater’s engine was awfully loud, so he didn’t really enjoy it. Tigger was very upset after this so DH bribed him by taking him back to Playhouse Disney Live. We then saw Indiana Jones and Muppetvision. Around 4:30 pm, Lilo and Tigger were beat but they still wanted Dinner at Beaches & Cream. So we headed to the Beach Club for dinner and ice cream. I had 2 reasons for going here, one- the no way José sundae, boy was it good, and two- I really wanted to stay there and DH said it wasn’t worth the money. I figured he should see how awesome this resort is; maybe he would even consider DVC. So we get to the Yacht and Beach Club and Tink instantly falls in love. She starts asking why we didn’t stay here. Then Lilo sees the pool and states the same thing. For dinner we split 2 burgers and 1 hot dog kids meal. Tigger got a Mickey sundae, Lilo and DH got a rootbeer float, Tink and I got a no way José sundae. The burgers were good. Lilo liked the hot dog. The sundae was heavenly. By the end of dinner, Dh says maybe we should look into DVC, of course, he now states he never said this. Maybe I can get him to rent points for our next trip! After dinner, we headed back to the resort. There was a birthday card waiting for Tigger along with some balloons, an autograph book and a stuffed Donald Duck. The kids had planned to swim but only Tink ended up going over to the quiet pool. DH went with her while I put Lilo and Tigger to bed. Both were tired and cranky. Tigger’s body ached so badly, it was obvious he had walked far more than he should have. I was so thankful when they both finally fell asleep.

Yay, another update!!!

sounds like you all had a nice day.

Stinks Tigger did not get to see Lightning MCQueen, but good job DH making him happy with Playhouse Disney:thumbsup2

I got to get myself over to Beaches and Cream one of these trips......sounds heavenly.:lovestruc

Our first stay at WDW was at the Beach Club. :cloud9: I think it's great with kids. I wouldn't bother with the water parks if I were staying there. :thumbsup2
I'm assuming Tigger didn't have a meltdown just upset? Sounds good. :)

He started to meltdown but Dh distracted him with going to see Playhouse Disney again. Thankfully, Dh was thinking and didnt let it get so far that he couldnt calm down.

It was our Animal Kingdom day; my plan was to be there by rope drop. Of course, no one wanted to get up again. This will be the theme for this trip. I was up by 6:30. This time I made it to Mickey before DH could hang up on him. I got dressed and woke up Tink. Once she was dressed and ready, we decided to go get breakfast from the food court and hope DH, Lilo and Tigger would wake up soon. When we got back to the room with breakfast, The TV on and they were watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but no one was moving. It seemed to take forever getting them to all get out of bed and get dressed. For breakfast, DH and Tigger split a breakfast platter. Lilo ate a kids waffle meal and Tink had a muffin. I had coffee and a banana. I am really not a breakfast eater. After eating, we were on our way to Animal Kingdom. Only 30 minutes behind schedule!

An update! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I am glad you guys had a nice time at DHS. I have never been to the Beach Club. I really want to see it though. Maybe a few more trips and the DVC will start looking better and better to your hubby.

We were lucky in the fact that we only had one kid to get up and ready. If we needed to He (Matt) would carry her to the bus until she woke up completely. I cannot sleep in at Disney!

Sorry guys... life has been insane! My nephew was with us for a short time but has went back home. Tigger started kindergarten this past week and that has added to our craziness. Tink is a senior this year and we have started the great college hunt and the quest for the perfect ACT score. Lilo started 6th grade and is back to swimming each day and obsessed with Supernatural. The best news.... Tigger is officially ours! Watch for some pictures!

The moment we arrived at Animal Kingdom, I got a stroller for Tigger and DH and Tink went to ride Everest. There was no wait so they were in and out, called before we made it over to Kilamanjaro Safari. Of course, we stopped to get a pic with Pocohantas first. We met up and this is where the plan changed. Tink and Lilo wanted to go ride Kali River Rapids but DH didnt want to miss watching Tigger interact with all his favorite pals. So we decided Tink and Lilo could go to Kali River Rapids together and we would take Tigger to Camp Minnie Mickey. Goofy was hillarious. He saw my hubby had on a Kiss shirt and asked for a kiss, so I got a great pic of my dh kissing goofy. Tigger loved it. He had a great time with Mickey too.

We then met up at Kilimanjaro safari and all went for a ride. Tigger loved watching all the animals and didnt mind the bumps at all. We were running extremely late after this and decided to head over to Rainforest Cafe for Lunch. Rainforest Cafe was insane. I swear there were 1000 people all waiting to be seated. Tigger loved the giant fish tank at the entrance but got a bit freaked out when we entered the restaurant. The thunder and animal sounds bothered him and he never really was calm through the whole experience. He didnt get upset but I could tell he wasnt all excited about being there. We had a great waiter though. He was awesome, so funny and the girls thought he was cute. We ate Lava Nachos and Pita Quesidillas and then got a volcano for dessert. This was the part Tigger loved. He thought the volcano was the coolest! The food was excellent and the service was amazing. I had heard awful things about this restaurant but we loved it. After lunch, we shopped a bit. Tink found the clearance rack and bought several tank tops for $2 a piece. Lilo found a stuffed clouded leopard to buy and Tigger decided to avoid shopping and just play by the fountain outside.

After lunch. Tink and Lilo decided to run away again and go ride rides without us while we took Tigger over to hundred acre woods. Tigger was awesome! He played with my Tigger, bounced with him, and they had a great time together.

We then headed to Dino Land and ran into the nicest CM at the Boneyard. She was amazing. She played with Tigger and he loved every minute of it. We stayed there way to long but Tigger was having so much fun. The girls hung out in Dinoland and rode the rides while Tigger played in the giant sandbox. Finally, it was time for us to head over to Boma, so Tigger reluctantly left the boneyard. He was tired, hungry and cranky and didnt want to stop playing. It was not the most pleasant experience.

Up Next... Boma... the good, the bad, and the downright ugly

Im so glad everything has worked out and that picture with piglet is too cute! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your adventure.

Tigger is so adorable. I bet you are glad you finally are able to show him off:goodvibes

I love the picture with him and Piglet. He has biggest grin on his face.

I am glad you had a great experience at Rainforest as I too have heard a lot of negative reviews:)

I am very happy he is finally mine forever. As for Rainforest Cafe, I was really worried about it but Lilo wanted to go so badly, I just couldnt say no. I was glad we had such a great time there. Tigger didnt like it but he didnt hate it either. I think he found it a bit scary though. Tink had fun, as our waiter was really cute, and he flirted a bit with her, made her day.

The good: the food was amazing. Tried everything, loved most of it. Dh thought the carving station was awesome, Tink loved the zebra domes, Lilo- well we will get to her and Tigger later....

The Bad: Lilo's attitude- She refused to try anything and the few non adventurous items she didnt like. She decided she would rather starve and just sat there during dinner. Of course, Dh decided she had to try something so after a battle she tried some of the sweet potato stuff (cant remember what its called) and then proceeded to gag and go on about how the food was horrible. It was definitely a spoiled brat moment.

The Ugly: One word- Tigger! He was tired, hungry, and we really should have skipped our ADR and went back to our room. Of course, I couldnt do that. What kind of disser ignores their ADR?!? Through the entire meal, Tigger cried and whined and when it came time to eat, he ate mostly desserts. By the time we left, he was going all out, tantruming like crazy. DH actually had to carry him to the bus kicking and screaming, there were tons of people waiting and thats when I decided to call a taxi. I didnt want to subject a full bus of people to Tiggers meltdown and I wanted to get back to the room fast so Tigger could get his bath and massage and go to sleep. The taxi was fast, we got back to our room in record time with only about a hundred people staring at us the whole way. I can only imagine what they were thinking :scared1: It was not our finest hour.

Don't worry about. All kids have meltdowns. I am glad you stayed and still enjoy your meal for the most part :goodvibes

Awesome updates! I haven't been on in a while and am glad I thought to check my old subscriptions!

so thrilled for you about tigger finally being all yours! woo-hoo!

What a precious precious family! The pic of you and DH, and Tigger made me sad all over again that we did not get to meet in person.

Are you sure we are not the same family??? We had the same experience at BOMA, my DH's favorite restaurant. I could take it or leave it but after taking 2 miserable teens there, and two toddlers who basically ate dessert for dinner and listening to whining from all four while we waited for the bus. . .ugh!

I'll check back soon!

Well so much for keeping up with my trip report. Last week, I became foster mom to 3 more children, ages 7, 5, and 2, so life is crazy to say the least. Will try and post an update soon when life is a bit less insane. Having 6 children, 4 of which are 7 and under is an adventure! Not sure how this will change our next Disney trip but I am putting the planning on hold until I know more about whether these kiddos are staying long term. Since my next trip is planned for Dec 09, I have time, though DH was talking about a quick trip for Star Wars Weekends next June as well. We will just have to see what life continues to throw at us. Talk to you all soon.
Lora

WOW....

You and your husband are amazing people:goodvibes

We are just normal people who love children but couldnt have our own. We chose to adopt through foster care and are still trying to expand our family. We would like one more son but now we have 2 more sons and a daughter. These 3 probably wont be a permanent part of our family. It is my hope that their mom gets her life together and decide they are more important than the men in her life. It is what these kids deserve. Right now, they are so sad. They miss their mom but the older two really dont believe she loves them. They both state they will never go home becuase she would have to make the abusive boyfriend leave and she loves him more. It seems so sad to me that these children would believe this. They also believe that all men abuse children. They told me my husband was weird because he wore a belt not to hit kids but to keep his pants up and he didnt yell at kids and wasnt mean. IT makes me so sad knowing what these poor children have been through and this older boy views on men sadden me further. I can only imagine what kind of man he will grow to be if he continues to see men who treat children like this.
