You know how I feel about the tour groups. I want to just look at them and say "didn't your parent raise you better than that?" Because my mom and dad put the fear in me as a child. I can't tell you how many times I heard "act like you have the sense God gave a goose."

Unfortunately, an entire chanting tour group was right in front of us. I wasn’t happy about it.

We were leaving MK early one day and passed two huge tour groups chanting their way down Main Street. We were very glad to be leaving.

The only time a large group ruined a ride for us was when a group of cheerleaders sat behind us in Pirates of the Caribbean and would not stop talking.

I rode by myself and tried to hold up Olaf so he’d be the other face in the “Building Your Future” section, but it didn’t work.

Too bad that didn't work. The ride must be programmed to only recognize human faces. We picked up an Olaf sign at DHS and I included him in a few pictures. I still have my Olaf sign. I don't know if they are still passing them out at DHS.

I feel the photo of you vs. the tour groups on a spiritual level. I was lucky enough to not have anything "ruined" by a BTG on my trip, but I rolled my eyes on more than one occasion when they started shouting and chanting in the streets. I've heard some horror stories, though.

The paragraph about "how the rest of the world lives" was also received on a spiritual plane of existence.

No worries Roni!!! My DIS time decreases more every week. This whole going to school full-time and working two jobs takes a lot out of me. I can only imagine how busy you are with work and Willow and planning Disney trips.

Willow gets me! I'm coping much better now but I'm still pretty bummed.

I honestly can't decide if I liked Crystal Palace or BOG better, but they were definitely the two best meals of the trip! So great.

Chapter 26: Character Hunting Around the World

Kylie had an intense day of character meets planned. We started in France with the very best princess of all, Belle!

(Rob, I've been staring at this picture of Belle for a few minutes trying to see if she looks like Anna Kendrick )

I told her how we had been to her castle for dinner the other night, and she said she was sorry she didn’t make it, but she couldn’t stop reading to come to dinner. She also liked my shirt and asked if I was meeting Aladdin and Jasmine later. I have it on good authority that she and Jasmine are princess BFFs.

Kylie and Emily met Belle next, and they had such a fun interaction. Belle was telling them all about this new book she was reading…

Belle: It’s got far off places, daring swordfights…
Kylie: Magic spells and a prince in disguise?
Belle: You’ve read it!
Emily: I like the part where she doesn’t discover that it’s him till chapter 3.

Dad jumped in for a picture as well.

After that, Kylie and Emily wanted to head over to the UK to meet Alice and Mary Poppins, but I was so hot already and needed a cold snack. I really wanted ice cream from the ice cream shop, but it doesn’t open until 12 and it was only 11:30. This is the place where dreams come true and I can’t get an ice cream before noon? VACATION RUINED!

Just kidding. I went to the bakery. I’ve had a vendetta against this bakery ever since they renovated and took cream puffs off the menu. But I got over that because it’s air conditioned!

I got a chocolate mousse and my dad got a pastry. They were both good and it was nice to just chill in the air conditioning for a bit.

After we finished, we took a Photopass picture outside. Fun fact: The Incredibles is my favorite Pixar movie so I was excited that my mom found this border!

We headed over to the UK, where Kylie and Emily were meeting Alice. ALL THE SASS

The Disneybounds of the day were Jolly Holiday Mary Poppins and Bert!

They had to get in line for Mary Poppins right after they met Alice. I think my mom could tell I was feeling kinda overheated and meh at that point, because she said that she saw Merida over near the International Gateway and would go with me to meet her. Merida was never one of my absolute favorites, but I like her better than Alice and Mary Poppins, so off we went.

And now, I have to say that she is in fact one of my absolute favorites. This was one of the best character meets of my life! She was SO enthusiastic, chatty, and bubbly, and she was also completely gorgeous.

First of all, she grabbed my MagicBand right away and admired how sparkly it was! I told her I made it, and she said how she can’t make anything, but her mom was trying to make her work on a tapestry.

Then she found my friend Olaf sticking out of my backpack. I told her he was feeling a little down because of how hot it was, but she thought he looked very happy and wanted him in the pictures.

After pictures, I asked if I could tell her the joke Peter Pan told us back in December. If you don’t feel like going back to read about it, here it is: “What do Captain Hook and Merida have in common? They both fought for their own hand, but Hook lost.” Merida and her character attendant LOVED it and Merida said she would have to think of a joke about Peter Pan to tell him!

I’m really glad I met Merida this trip. She is now one of my favorite princesses!

After that, we headed back to the UK and it was just about time for Kylie and Emily to meet Mary Poppins! Mary Poppins LOVED their Mary and Bert Disneybounds.

Emily had to get a solo pic because Mary Poppins is her favorite.

After this was the moment you’ve all been waiting for…THE TR TITLE REVEAL! *throws confetti* We were walking over to Italy when…

Dad: Well, now Emily’s met her favorite character, I guess the trip is over. There’s nowhere to go but down…

It may not pack the emotional punch of other TR titles, but it was a hilarious moment.

The walk to Italy also brought my quotable moment, when we were talking about the heat of the World Showcase and I said, “I’d enjoy it more if I didn’t feel like I was dying.” Emily thought this was hilarious and actually wanted it to be the TR title. It is exactly how I feel about Epcot though. There are so many amazing things and I know I could love it…but World Showcase is just so brutally hot in the summer that I’m constantly running for AC. One day I will enjoy Epcot in the fall or winter and it will be beautiful.

On our way to Italy, my mom realized that we could pop into Morocco to meet Aladdin and Jasmine! And lo and behold, there were only two other families in line! I feel like a lot of people don’t realize they’re in the back, so they don’t get in line.

Kylie and Emily went first, and they chatted about their DisneyBounds.

Aladdin and Jasmine noticed my shirt right away, and I showed them my Jasmine MagicBand and my magic lamp Alex and Ani. Aladdin said, “You’re a walking Agrabah!”

You were there at Thanksgiving. I remember that we both saw the same Christmas Wishes, but you were inside MK and I was on the beach at WL. I would love to go back to WDW for that same weekend. It was so much fun.

Your meet and greets with Merida, Jasmine and Aladdin look like fun. I've never seen Merida at the World Showcase before. I didn't know that she appeared there.

Your M&G with Merida sounds and looks great! We actually met her at IG in Nov. of 2012 ( I absolutely love meeting characters there, its always a nice surprise). We had just met her earlier that trip over in MK after a not so magical line lol. We arrived at the IG right at park opening and nobody else was there She spent lots of time with my DS's and it ended up being a better experience than the one in MK!

And why no ice cream before noon DH and I tried getting a grey goose slushie before noon once - can't happen. But ice cream? C'mon!!!

Awww - we are big fans of The Incredibles too! Willow met Mr. Incredible at California Adventure before she had seen the movie - she was a little confused.

Love the Disbound idea for today! I’m not quick enough to figure it out on my own, but once you mentioned it, I was all, “Well, duh, Roni!” In my defense, I think it would have clicked when I saw the pics of them with Mary.

I’m glad you were brought around on Merida. We are huge fans - and meeting her is almost always a total hoot!

I love the TR title moment. Honestly, it’s a great title - I have loved it from the beginning. It didn’t even require an explanation, because it just evoked images of the tour!

I don’t do well with that death-inducing heat either. DHS always gets me. That’s the main reason we eat at HBD for lunch every trip - it improves my mood IMMENSELY.

World Showcase is my favorite part of all of Disney World but it can get crazy hot in the summer and it doesn't help that a lot of the lines for the meets are right out in the sun. Even more of a reason to go during Food & Wine I guess
