There'’s Nowhere To Go But Down...…To The Utilidors! NEW TR LINK 6/4

Beauty and the Beast is such a wonderful show! I love all of the costumes :goodvibes

MMM 50's Prime Time! LOVE that place! The whole atmosphere is just a great time.

Cute Disney bounding outfits! They look cute as Peter & Wendy!

Love Beauty and the Beast! Definitely hitting that up in November.

Even though he wasn't your server, how awesome that you saw Loukili again!

Absolutely love all of the restaurant shaming. That's the best part of the 50's PTC by far.

Your Dad and his photobombing is awesome.

It is always a bummer to have an argument on vacation. Jeremy and I do it at least once a trip too. I think it is because you spend so much time right on top of each other on vacation with no space and you just get annoyed. Add in the weather, and there you go.

That sing along looks like so much fun! We also love the 50's prime time café. Always a good meal and great entertainment!

I have to start at the end and say that picture of Dad and Uncle Dave has the perfect caption. I know I only just got a smartphone 2 weeks before we left but I just don't get it. You probably don't remember before cell phones when Dad would call into his office from a payphone all the time and I would just keep walking. It is vacation, people!!

Back to the Frozen sing-along, I was tearing up in there. To be in there with 1000 other Disney crazies like us, belting out the songs we belt out in the car, just got to me. It was like the first time Kylie and I went to MVMCP, when we lined up 1 1/2 hours early to meet the Seven Dwarfs, and we pulled out our touring plan and maps and Josh's blog and Kenny's blog, and all the people around us were pulling out all their plans and comparing them. I was like, "These are our people!" Not like at home when people say, "You're going to Disney AGAIN???"

50's is now my must-do each trip. It is so fun and I like the good, simple food.

I loved the girls' Disneybounding every day. They got so excited when people recognized them.

Love my tilted artsy photo from GMR! I must admit my new phone took some pretty good pics inside attractions.

I think that dress would only look good at your college formal if you could get your date to dress like that guy.

If I didn't mention it before, I love your Olaf Mickey ears. Wish I could make stuff like that.

Looks like Michael was great. Interaction really makes or breaks 50's Prime Time and our first and only time our interaction was very meh.

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's friend but what a great idea to honor him like that.

Very nice Disneybounds. I never have the right clothes for it.

Marie also doesn't look up during the Alien scene so it's okay :thumbsup2 You aren't alone.

"Best Friends Reunited In The Happiest Place On Earth." is an artistic masterpiece.

It sounds like you had a fun dinner at ‘50s Prime Time Café. :)

Love the Beauty and the Beast pictures!

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is great!

I don't blame you for not looking at the Alien scene.

Love the disney bounding outfits!

I want that Mickey & Minnie portrait, too!

Best Friends Reunited is great!

The Beauty and the Beast show is my favorite place to watch the ASL interpreters too!

I don't care for the Alien section of GMR either - I tend to just look to the left and ignore the rest.

Watching Beauty and the Beast must be heaven for you Courtney given your love of Belle. You got some lovely pictures.

Haha, Sven. The Frozen theming just knows no end.

Good save there Courtney... nearly as good as mom's. :thumbsup2

I often wonder how many people walk into Prime Time completely unknowing and leave thinking all the wait staff are really rude.

"It's artsy because it's tilted." Oh Josh, lol.

HA, that last picture is so awesome. I bet they're talking to each other via text.

Hi, Courtney! I just stumbled across your trip and fell in love right away! You are precious! I'm loving your report!

I can totally relate to calling it $bucks...they get a lot of mine and my hubby's $$, too! But it's sooo good. Sorry to hear that you had bad luck with your flight, but yay for the free movies!!

I loved seeing the pics of the Co-op...I can't wait to get there and see it in person. From the pics, it's a beautiful place. I love that you can make the cell phone cases now...that's too awesome!

The food at Wolfgang Express looked really, really good. I've never been there, but I may just have to try it now.

Sorry that you and your Dad had a spat, but glad that you recovered so quickly! I definitely have my moments in Disney, too. I don't do well with crowds sometimes, so it can bring out my not so nice side and I always take it out on the hubby! :(

I can't wait for more!

I adore Beauty and the Beast! I cry each time.

I haven't eaten at 50s Diner yet but the public humiliation looks hilarious! I'm happy you were reunited with your beloved waiter, and yay for m&ms and sprinkles?! (I like that they were served separately).

I also love the Disneybound! :)

I'm finally all caught up! It's been super fun to follow along your first full day at Disney.

We had Loukili last week at 50s Primetime! He was hysterical and totally made the experience what I wanted it to be for my DBF, who was a first-timer.

The Frozen sing-a-long looked so cute. I'm bummed I missed it on my trip, but I like to think I have my own sing-a-long every time I watch the movie, so I guess it'll have to do. :rolleyes1

Looking forward to more updates. You've done a lot in one day!

weeee 50s!! I love their shakes so much! I always get the chicken pot pie, it tastes like HEAVEN. I haven't been there in ages...maybe it's time for a return trip :thumbsup2

Great photos from Beauty & the Beast! How do the interpreted shows work? Are they noted on the Times Guide? Or do you request one for a certain show? I would love to see that, but of course if it has to be requested, I wouldn't ask for it just so I could watch.

I'm glad you were able to see your favorite server from 50's Prime Time. It's so fun when CM's make such a great impression on you and you look forward to seeing them trip after trip.

I love your caption to that last pic. :lmao:

I'm very excite because they extended the Frozen fun into September and we'll get to go to the Sing-Along. :woohoo: I'm hoping that it isn't too corny for my husband. Did your Dad go to the sing along with you?

Primetime looks like good food but I could never survive the teasing. I never finish all my food. It is a thing with me. But it does look like fun. :)

Your trip report is the second time I have heard of Disney bounding but you are the first one to explain what it is. I've never heard of it before. I'll have to keep a look - out for Disney bounders now. Is it very common?

Hi Courtney! Dang - I missed a lot while I was gone!!!

I'm so glad your mom was feeling better - how awful to be feeling sick on the very first day! :scared:

I am loving all the Frozen stuff - this is the first I've really seen of first-hand stories about it. I so wish I could have taken Willow to see all of it - I hope they do it next year! ;)

Sorry about the bad moment - we all have them at WDW, don't we? At least you all managed to get over it very quickly and enjoy the show. :thumbsup2

Mmmm, dinner looks great! And not JUST because I'm super-hungry at this moment.....

YAY for Beauty and the Beast! Such a great show. I really hope I'll be able to see the actual Broadway production one day since it actually had some basis in the show that was in Disneyland, which I never saw but it's very much likened to this one. And I'm so glad I'm not the only person who always gets distracted by the interpreter. It really is the coolest thing that BatB does that. ::yes::

No PB&J milkshake? WHAT?! Whatever, but it still sounds like you had a great time at 50s. I so wish I could've witnessed a public shaming when I went there. We got a tone deaf rendition of Happy Birthday instead, which was pretty funny so I'm not complaining... that much. And I'll totally have to try the Pot Roast that looks GOOOOD.

LOVE Emily and Kylie's disneybound outfits! The red ribbon in Emily's hair was a nice touch, I totally would've spotted her as Peter.

Look down during the Alien scene? I could never do that, probably one of my favorite scenes. I guess I'm going to have to beat the fear out of you on our to-be DCPs. But really, you can see when the animatronics are coming, they aren't hidden too well especially if you've been on the ride a lot before.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Beauty and the Beast is such a wonderful show! I love all of the costumes :goodvibes

MMM 50's Prime Time! LOVE that place! The whole atmosphere is just a great time.

Cute Disney bounding outfits! They look cute as Peter & Wendy!

It's one of my absolute favorites, so well done!!

I have so much fun at '50s, even if I didn't love the food I would go just for the atmosphere, but I'm glad the food is good too!

They were adorable!!

Such a good show!

I was SO happy. It's like a family reunion at this point.

It was soooo much fun. Plus my dad and Uncle Rick were really good sports.

Haha he was just asking me why there weren't any photobombing pics yet, and then we got that gem!

I am with ya! I love my family of course but all the "togetherness" can get to you, especially with crowds and bad weather.

It was a blast! And I agree, '50s rules!

If I didn't mention it before, I love your Olaf Mickey ears. Wish I could make stuff like that.

Hahaha I had to take a picture. It just made me laugh. We're in WDW! With a friend we only see once a year if that! INTERACT!

It really was a "these are our people" moment, I love those. I get to have those all the time on the DIS now, but the Frozen sing-a-long was really special.

It's one of my favorites too. The food is great and I laugh the whole time I'm there.

The DisneyBounds were great! I'll try it someday but for now I like my character tank tops.

You got some awesome phone pics!

HA I will be sure to inform the lucky gentleman to get a maroon tuxedo.

Thanks!! They were adorable.

Looks like Michael was great. Interaction really makes or breaks 50's Prime Time and our first and only time our interaction was very meh.

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's friend but what a great idea to honor him like that.

Marie also doesn't look up during the Alien scene so it's okay :thumbsup2 You aren't alone.

"Best Friends Reunited In The Happiest Place On Earth." is an artistic masterpiece.

Michael rocked! That's such a bummer that you didn't have a good experience :( we've been very lucky to have great servers but if we didn't I wouldn't love it as much as I do.

Thank you :flower3: It was great having CMs and characters take pictures with the hearts. I don't have a ton of pics because they're all on my dad's phone which he did not hand over so I could upload the pics, but I'll have a few more to share!

I don't have many good DisneyBound clothes either, but I'm so attached to the Hot Topic Disney tank tops I have so I just wear those!

I'm glad. I've seen the alien before and I never need to again!

Why thank you! I plan on selling it to the Art of Disney store for $7,000. Seems like a fair price.

It was sooo much fun!

Thank you! I had just gotten a new camera so the Beauty and the Beast show was my way of testing it.

Ugh the Alien scene gives me the creeps. Not a fan.

They were adorable! More DisneyBounds are to come :)

IT'S SO PERFECT! Mickey and Minnie dressed as the couple from my favorite movie. I need it.

Hehe thank you!!! I thought it was funny.

The Beauty and the Beast show is my favorite place to watch the ASL interpreters too!

I don't care for the Alien section of GMR either - I tend to just look to the left and ignore the rest.

It's amazing! They get so into the emotions of the story, it's beautiful.

Yep, I stare straight down and don't look up until we are out of there!

It's one of my absolute favorite WDW attractions. And I cry every single time.

HA I felt bad for the guy. You could tell he was totally over Frozen.

Ya know, nothing compares to Mom's cooking. Plus she reads this TR and I need some brownie points.

HAHA it's so funny you should say that. We didn't encounter that at '50s but we encountered it at a similar restaurant...details to come.

I bet they were gossiping about the rest of us!

Oh my gosh!!! You are too sweet and totally made my day. So glad to have you here!!

$bux took $5 from me today, actually. The flight situation was crazy but it all worked out!

The Co-Op was GORGEOUS and had so many great things! I'm lucky I made it out of there with any money left :rotfl:

I would definitely recommend Wolfgang Puck! The food is amazing!

Yeah, I'm pretty bad with crowds sometimes too, which definitely doesn't help when the weather is bad and you're stressed. It did blow over very quickly though, and it was smooth sailing for the rest of the day!

ME TOO. My dad took a picture of me crying one year and posted it to Facebook. Embarrassing.

It is such a fun restaurant! Haha I have no idea what he was thinking but I appreciated the gift anyway!

They did a great job with their DisneyBounds!

I'm finally all caught up! It's been super fun to follow along your first full day at Disney.

We had Loukili last week at 50s Primetime! He was hysterical and totally made the experience what I wanted it to be for my DBF, who was a first-timer.

Looking forward to more updates. You've done a lot in one day!

LOUKILI!!! I'm glad you had a great experience there. He is one of the very best CMs I have ever met and he is perfect for '50s.

Hahaha I have personal Frozen sing-a-longs all the time!

It was a really productive, great day!

weeee 50s!! I love their shakes so much! I always get the chicken pot pie, it tastes like HEAVEN. I haven't been there in ages...maybe it's time for a return trip :thumbsup2

'50s shakes are amazing!! I remember seeing on Instagram that you went the day after you commented so I hope it was delicious :thumbsup2

:lmao:

Thank you!!! You do not have to request an interpreter. Basically every park has 1 or 2 days each week where shows and rides in that park are interpreted. We usually get the info before our trip at wdwent.com so we can plan our park days, but there is also a special Times Guide you can get at Guest Relations that explains when rides and shows are interpreted!

I know! My dad seriously once a week tells me how much he misses Loukili. He's part of the family at this point.

Hahaha those two drive me nuts, but I love them.

I'm very excite because they extended the Frozen fun into September and we'll get to go to the Sing-Along. :woohoo: I'm hoping that it isn't too corny for my husband. Did your Dad go to the sing along with you?

Ahhh I'm so happy you'll get to see it! My dad and uncle both saw the sing-a-long and enjoyed it, but we couldn't get my dad to come with us a second time. So I think your husband will enjoy it once but pass on repeat viewings :rotfl:

I was lucky, I avoided some vegetables this time and didn't get picked on. The guys took the brunt of it!

I would say it's somewhat common! We always saw a few people each day that were DisneyBounding, and I see lots of pictures online of people doing it.

Hi Courtney! Dang - I missed a lot while I was gone!!!

I'm so glad your mom was feeling better - how awful to be feeling sick on the very first day! :scared:

Mmmm, dinner looks great! And not JUST because I'm super-hungry at this moment.....

Welcome back, Roni!!! So excited to hear about DLR.

It was no fun at all, I felt so bad! Thankfully she felt much better for the rest of the trip.

We were so lucky to be there the second day-we got to experience everything while it was still new, but since it wasn't the first day it wasn't as crowded. I really hope they keep some of it permanent or bring it back next year so you can see it!

Yeah, it's pretty inevitable given the crowds and weather, but we bounce back quickly!

'50s was delicious on this trip! I got the fried chicken last time, which I liked, but I'm glad I went for the pot roast this trip because it was unreal.

YAY for Beauty and the Beast! Such a great show. I really hope I'll be able to see the actual Broadway production one day since it actually had some basis in the show that was in Disneyland, which I never saw but it's very much likened to this one. Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

If you can, definitely see the Broadway show!! I saw it once on Broadway and twice touring and it's absolutely unbelievable. The interpreters are amazing-it's like they're acting as well and it's great to watch.

I was craving vanilla! I had a creamsicle milkshake last year that was incredible, but I will definitely have to try the PB&J sometime. The pot roast was amazing, would definitely recommend!!

They were so clever with the accessories they chose!

I have seen the alien before and I know where it is...I just never want to see it again LOL. We'll see if I conquer that fear next summer.

Chapter 10: We’re On The List

Finally, it was time for Fantasmic. But this would be no ordinary showing of Fantasmic. For we were on THE LIST.

Okay brief backstory: Back in December 2012 my mom and sister did a Disney trip for all the Christmas stuff. I had finals that week and it was the busiest time at work for my dad so just the two of them went. (Don’t worry, Dad and I had our own trip in January 2013!) They stayed at Art of Animation, and one night they got back at 1 a.m. to discover that the housekeeper had left the door open all day. Fortunately nothing got stolen, but my mom was concerned that someone (or an animal) could have gotten into our room. The front desk wasn’t very responsive, so my mom asked to speak to a manager, and she ended up talking to this woman who works in the general manager’s office. This woman was VERY understanding and addressed all my mom’s concerns, and she said that if we were ever at AoA or Pop again to please let them know and they would make our stay even more magical.

I tell you all this not to bash that housekeeper or the front desk workers, because mistakes happen, but to tell you that Disney has the best guest recovery ever. They did not have to do any of what they did because we love Disney and will come back no matter what, but they still wanted to make up for what happened. When my dad wrote to let them know we’d be back, they offered us VIP seating for Kylie’s favorite show, Fantasmic! It was an extremely thoughtful gift and we were all really excited. (This is also part of the reason why we had so many towel animals…)

We had to go to every CM on the way to our seats and they all verified that we were on the list. It was SO cool. We were like celebrities.

We got great seats right in the center. The sky was absolutely GORGEOUS that night.

Kylie and Emily went for snacks, and Kylie got a free popcorn because of her birthday button! We had so many magical moments that night. It was unreal.

We decided to save the Frozen fireworks for our other night at DHS, and it was a good thing too, since Hollywood Boulevard was already packed. On the way out, they were handing out more Olafs! The sticks were smaller but I was very happy to have another Olaf to take on adventures.

BUS PICTURES! You can tell I got caught in the rain hehe.
