Interesting post ~ I can't answer it but I will bump it up for it.

I saw them in some resort gift shops and at the toy store at Downtown Disney. Often they are associated with the train and monorail sets in the stores. In late August the toy store had some at half price I think it was. But they appeared to be the replicas of rides at Disneyland. I don't know if places outside the parks sell them. Anyone else know?

The only other places I have seen them other than WDW is, of course, Ebay and at mouseshoppe.com. They are pretty much the same price at either if not a little higher.

If memory serves me right, I believe I paid $6.99 for the one I bought for my mom.

I have three of the die cast ride replicas and they were around $6-7. They are my favorite souveneirs, and I keep them on my dresser all year long! I've only ever seen them at WDW. Don't let that discourage you, though. Call WDW and they will put you through to the gift shops. They'll ship them to you. (I was very surprised one year when something big (in size) turned up under my Christmas tree that I had seen in DL 5 months previous. DH ordered it from DL and they shipped it!)

I have six of them, and they all came from the Belz outlet. The outlet is totally hit or miss, so you never know which they will have. I can't remember exactly what I paid for them, but it was $3 or $4 -- about half what they are in the parks.

I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about...but Target carries a Magic Kingdom playset for like $24.99 and it has a few add on attractions that go with it (it's a small world is one of them). HTH!

I would check the outlets first, then at WDW with the AP or DC shopping discount (or just dial the phone from home and order from WDW merchandising).
