I love hearing how people have decorated their children's bedrooms, but I really love seeing the pictures of those bedrooms. So why don't we show off some themed bedroom pics here...

Our youngest DD is a huge dolphin lover, so when she moved to her new room last year we went with a dolphin theme. It's not all done yet though, she is working on a 3-D puzzle that we plan to frame and hang in there and I also have a couple of cross-stitch kits I am working on. Otherwise she gets to sleep in a dolphin paradise each night. I will post a few pics soon, but would love to see others with themed bedrooms.

DS's bedroom is Pooh-themed, right down to the Pooh yellow paint from Home Depot on the walls. :goodvibes We have a Classic Pooh w/Honeypots border that goes across the center of the room, abutted (is that the right word)on both top and bottom by sky-blue custom molding made by DFIL. The carpet is also sky-blue and we have Pooh bedding in his crib, as well as a Pooh diaper-stacker and a sky-blue covering for his changing table.

I knew as soon as we fo und out we were pregnant I wanted to do a Pooh room because it's unisex. I am thinking that when he is too old for his Pooh room in a few years, we can easily change it to something else very boyish, like boats or something. I saw a really really cute boat-bed in the PBKids catalog not too long ago and I'm considering asking DH if he thinks it would be alright to ask DFIL to approach making one like it as a project in his woodshop if we provided the materials.

My son has a castle themed room. He really wanted pirates, but I had a hard time finding pirate themed bedroom items so I bought some cute castle themed things at Ikea last fall. I would post pics, but it's too messy to take pics of right now :sad2:

Oh I wanna see pics of the castle room. I really do! :) I'm collecting a folder full of ideas for DS's 'big boy' room. I like the sailing room theme best right now but who knows, I might change my mind by the time he's a 'big boy'.

Oh wait..he IS a big boy. Well..almost. He's nearly 2. Where did my cute baby go? :guilty:

It's nothing elaborate, I couldn't find any wall border that was self adhesive and I can't really paint (we rent). It's just accessories and stuff. I'll post a pic when he's done cleaning it ;)

Any wall border we get is going to have to be stuck on these board things and then inserted under the custom molding, unfortunately. We have walls that havce like this wierd..almost orange-peel texture I guess and self-stick anything doesn't stick to our walls.

Trust me, we tried. We tried just slapping DS's border up there without the board-things under it at first and within a few hours it had slowly fallen on to the floor. So DFIL custom-cut these board-deals to go under the border, between the custom molding so it would stay on. So far, so good. :thumbsup2

Here are some pics. Disregard the mess under the bed and such. :teeth:

If anyone has seen a border that would match and is self adhesive, please let me know :)

Older son's room will be stitch and the cousins when we get around to it. Younger son has a Poly/Tiki room going.

He's the lucky kid who has two armoires and a nightstand we bought from Mouse Surplus. Once we paint and put up crown moulding, the bamboo canopy will go up and the prints from a room at the Poly. He's got a Tiki maoi lamp and some tiki masks, too.

yes, 6 going of 26! He picked this all on his own.

Mine is a nightmare before christmas theme. :teeth:

And depending on how long it has been since you cleaned it, it is also themed as a mother's worst nightmare :rotfl2: :lmao:

She picked the color of the paint and wanted the darker blue on the bottom to represent the ocean and the lighter blue on the top to be the sky.

Oh I LOVE the castle themed bedroom, but I love the military themed one even more, esp the border!

We have four "themed" bedrooms. We have a log cabin themed room, an African themed room, a chinese themed room and a "frilly, floral dream, only a woman could love this bedroom" themed room. ;) :lmao:

I'll post some pics later. :)

For DS I made a Wilderness Lodge room, with dark green on the bottom 2/3 ofthe wall and taupe for the top. The I found wall paper stickers that were moose, bears and two kinds of evergreen trees (at Target) and put those in the taupe area. I bought green and tan plaid fabric and made the crib bumper and will also make either curtains or a valance. Sad to say DS is a year old and I'm not finished but his room will be something he can stay with until he is old enough to have a preference.

DS used to have a Mickey theme, but his "big boy room" (he's six!) has a dinosaur theme. He has displayed some of his toys on the wall, and the palm tree is from the jungle-themed nursery:

DD has a Pink Minnie room - we printed Minnie on foam-core for a party decoration and then hung it on her wall:

I am loving seeing these pics! The military room is awesome :thumbsup2

Eventually I would like to do a Mickey room in the upstairs bedroom that is no longer used daily (DD went off to college). Right now it is a sewing/storage/junk room :teeth:
