Themed bedrooms - insp. by boys bedrooms

I love the airplane flying right at ya on the wall in the military themed room. That is soo cool. And the cami dresser is a nice touch.

:)

My DD6 room is pink with flowers and bugs. WIth border, butterflies hanging from her ceiling, she has her princess accents in there too.

DS2.5 has a racecar room. He has Jimmie Johnson border and race car pictures all over. I am really done done yet but he doesn't know it.

Older son's room will be stitch and the cousins when we get around to it. Younger son has a Poly/Tiki room going.

He's the lucky kid who has two armoires and a nightstand we bought from Mouse Surplus. Once we paint and put up crown moulding, the bamboo canopy will go up and the prints from a room at the Poly. He's got a Tiki maoi lamp and some tiki masks, too.

yes, 6 going of 26! He picked this all on his own.

Suzanne

You will have to get him the Tiki god kleenex box cover - the tissues come out his nose - lol

DS has a camoflauge room. The walls are dessert sand color and his comforter and sheets are camoflauge. My sister painted his shelves camoflauge and his curtains match the bed linens.

we have a fairy room - complete with cloud ceiling and walls, castle, and fairies...

and a John deere theme room :teeth:

My 2DS have a Thomas themed playroom and I am getting ready to redo their bedroom as a rainforest. DS5 is obessed with the rainforest cafe. I got some vines to hang around the walls and I am going to paint the walls green :wizard: I can't wait to finish it! Oh yea I am painting the ceiling blue and putting glow in the dark skies.

My Hannah's room is Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary.

DH made her bed and book shelf from fence pickets. The wall border was from Laura Ashley, and all garden details came from the 70% off clearance at Hobby Lobby. The flowers on the top of her headboard are actually garden decorations.

my son's room is Nemo themed a bit...it is blue walls, blue carpet and then there are those sticky Nemo things all over the walls. One day I'd like to paint sea weed and do it a little more artsy.

Our daughter's room has the princess stickies on her walls and she has a princess bed, he r walls and carpet are purple.

SleepyMom- Where did you get your dd's bedding? We are probably going to do a dolphin room for dd and that looks like it would work perfectly. I am thinking about getting two wall murals that are photos of dolphins underwater (they were on Extreme Home Makeover in the dolphin room they did) and the other two walls will be painted the same color as the water in the murals.

Currently dd's room is a Tink room. It's hot pink and has a lavendar ceiling (yes, we let her pick the colors, but it actually works) with lavendar, sparkly pixie dust painted around the room. She has a canopy with Tink flying over her head.

DS room is a explorer room. He has pale beige walls with a navy stripe running horizontally around the room. He has a navy quilt and sheets that are maps of the world. I liked the theme because the sheets have animals on them that relate to the various continents and all the modes of transportation (ships in the sea, planes in the sky, etc). So it ties in a bunch of things he likes. On his walls he has maps, roadsigns and souvenirs from the places he's been.

We have four "themed" bedrooms. We have a log cabin themed room, an African themed room, a chinese themed room and a "frilly, floral dream, only a woman could love this bedroom" themed room. ;) :lmao:

I'll post some pics later. :)

My best frield calls the room you mentioned as only a woman could love this bedroom as "Land O'Precious".

I saw that room on Extreme Home Makeover, the murals were awesome! Getting her bedding is a funny story... we saw that Shopko had them several years ago, along with wolves, horses and eagles. At that time we had just re-done her upstairs bedroom (with a single bed) and knew she would be in it for awhile longer, so I didn't buy it. Fast forward about 2 years and we knew that in another 12 to 18 months or so she would be taking over her sister's room in the basement when Sissy went off to college so we started looking for dolphin things to put in there. The bedding sets had long been sold out at Shopko and new animals sets had come in, but nothing we could use. One day though I walked through the bedding department and there were tons of these sets, on clearance! But all they had were twin sizes and her new bed to-be was a queen. I checked out the other Shopko in town and they only had the same sizes :headache: I called DH who happened to be out of town and told him to check out the Shopko there, still only twin sizes. Next I called my Mom and she found a queen set and the best part was that it was only $20.00. Packed it away for a year and it worked perfectly for her new room! Hope you will be able to find something.

The descriptions are fun to read of all these rooms, I would love to see more pictures.

This is my boy's room. We did a jungle theme. The boys were 7 & 2 at the time and were sharing the room, so we thought this would work for both of them and they still like it.

I don't have any pictures of my daughter's room that aren't messy right now. Her room is done with bright pink and lime green with flowers.

hipporina - love the jungle room, that is amazing... who did the painting for you? I would never be brave enough to attempt something like that. Thanks for sharing.

Come on, let's see some more pictures! You guys are giving me ideas for my new house! :cheer2:

Mine started off with a theme.

It was going to be tropical.

Then it moved to tinkerbell.

Now it's just uniquely me.

I'll post some pictures, even though it's not a theme, when I get it cleaned up ;)

Ok, I just posted this on another thread...but this is a picture of the twins' spiderman room. I had this done when they were four. I picked Spiderman because I thought that was something they might be into for several years...until they were at least 8 or 9 (hopefully longer!).

There's a spiderman tent that finally broke in the back of the room. I'm glad to see it go b/c it was taking up too much space.

My youngest son has a Mickey Mouse room. I don't have any mural on his wall, it's just themed with furniture from the Disney website and the "Best of Mickey" bedding collection.

Here's a better shot of the mural:

I have no themed rooms, but just wanted to say that I love all of the pictures, everyone is so creative! :goodvibes

Thank you. I was really pleased with the way it turned out. I actually did all of the painting myself. My dh drew the animals and the outlines of the trees and I painted. The dragonflies and butterflies are stamps. It took a couple of weeks, but it was worth it.

I'm still working on my daughters' room. It is a princess room of course. DD6 loves Cinderella while DD3 loves SnoWhite - (she pronounces it like one word!)
We put them in the room over the garage and painted the walls Bibbity-Bobbity-Blue. My best friend's DIL is very artistic and on the wall going up stairs, she is painting Cinderella's castle. At the top of the stairs is her carriage. The room has 2 dormer windows, so it has 3 slanted walls/ceilings if that makes sense. On the 1st wall you see going up the steps, I'm painting, "Once Upon a Time...", on the 2nd wall, it says, "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and the 3rd one says "Some Day My Prince Will Come." The on the wall that you see when coming down the stairs, it says, "And They Lived Happily Ever After." I got a print of Cinderella and SnoWhite at Disney and had Cinderella autograph hers to Princess Lauren and SnoWhite autograph hers to Princess Ashley. I don't know how to post picture but I'll see if DH can help me post what we've done so far. Oh, and the castle even has a hidden Mickey!
