Hi All!

Just wondered if any of you have been on any of the Theme Park Tours such as Keys to the Kingdom etc I am thinking about booking one for DH's anniversary  present next November but I don't know which one is best. :confused3 He said that he wants to go one one where you can go in the underground tunnels at MK but I don't know if there is one?

The Grandparents will be there to look after the kiddies so we don't need to worry about them BTW. ;)

Help please!

Gems :)

Keys to the Kingdom does take you into the tunnels at MK. It is like a 4.5 hour tour that takes you through a few backstage area's... it is pretty entertaining.. Of course if you wanted to go all out you could do the Backstage Magic tour which is an 8 hour tour and goes backstage at other parks too.. That one starts at Epcot and continues through MGM and MK... also takes you under into the tunnels :thumbsup2

We did the Backstage Magic in September and loved it! It does inclued the utilidors at Magic Kingdom but you cover a lot of other stuff too. You go to Epcot, MGM and Magic Kingdom. :Pinkbounc

Backstage Magic Information

This is highly recommended and yes it is the most expensive but worth every penny in our opinion. :thumbsup2

I love the Keys to the Kingdom Tour!

It does take you to the "Utilidors" (the underground tunnels used by the Cast Members), and other backstage places and it is absolutely fascinating - I got a much greater understanding of what went into creating the Magic Kingdom.

Be prepared to do a lot of walking and standing. You cannot take photos backstage, so any cameras are taken and put in safe storage, as are large backpacks.

If you have any other questions, fire away!

Thanks for your help! I will deffo be doing one or other of the tours - I never know what to buy for DH and this could prove to be a cool present don't ya think??

Do I have to call WDW reservations to book it? Also any idea how far in advance?

We used to be able to book these ages in advance, but it is now 180 days ahead, and you can call them on 001-407-939-8687 (WDW TOUR)

We did the Keys to the Kingdom and LOVED it! i'd definately do it again but it is a lot of walking!

We did the "Backstage Magic" tour in January and really enjoyed it. It started in Epcot, moved to Disney-MGM Studios, and ended at Magic Kingdom. It included the Utilidors. It was very well done and very interesting. Here is a link that includes cost, time, available discounts, etc:

Here is a link to all the info about the available tours.

The Backstage Magic tour does not require park admission, so you can save a ticket for another day. I believe all of the other in-park tours require admission in addition to the price of the tour (except for the diving tours).

Another tour that your DH may like, is the Around The World On A Segway. I loved it so much that I've taken it twice and plan to go again.
Don't settle for the Simply Segway, it will leave you wanting more.

The UnDiscovered Futureworld tour was excellent as well.

Keys To The Kingdom is really a must do, unless you are going to go for the Backstage Magic.

Be sure to inquire as to whether you qualify for a discount on the tour.

A tour would be a most memorable gift!
You will both love it, as Disney really does it right! :thumbsup2

Another vote for Backstage magic. We did this tour in December and loved it. We also did the around the world segway tour which was also great fun. We booked the tours a year in advance (as we did both tours christmas week so needed to book this far in advance.)
I hope you have a great time, I would love a tour as a gift!!

We've done Keys to the Kingdom tour 3 times. We had a fantastic time on everyone one and would certainly recommend it to anyone. It is a fantastic way to get lots of Disney 'secrets'.
