Theme Park Resort Bus Stops

I was wondering if anyone knew of a map of the resort bus stops at the different parks. Right now I am booked at Pop Century which I know at Magic Kingdom and especially Epcot, it feels like a 7 mile walk to the bus stop at the end of the day! At DHS and Animal Kingdom it was not so bad.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows of maps of the bus stops so I can see which resort is where, if a good promo comes out for fall we are contemplating upgrading and I take the which has the least amount of walking at the end of the day serious! My DF has never been and he complains about walking after an hour so eliminating a bit will help...though I think his feet are in for a surprise when we get there...teehee.
Thanks in advance everyone!

There is no such map because the bus stops get shifted around from time to time. A resort that has the first bus stop right now might have one in the middle or end by summertime. I don't know how often they move them, but they do change. It isn't even correct to say that if you stay at a more expensive hotel, you'll get a better bus stop, so I wouldn't let this have anything to do with your decision.

Hey dacky, thanks for saving me all that typing! :worship: Perfect answer!

Sorry to disagree.
They could furnish such a map. I just don't think that there ia a big demand for it. I can't remember the last time they changed the order of resort bus stops. The bus route system is computerized and can't be changed that easily. The order does change slightly from AM to PM at some resorts because of the water parks or because of park openings and closings, but that's done every day.

I think you might be a little confused here, or maybe I was :lmao:

I think the OP was asking about where the bus stops were at the parks. For instance if you leave AKL, is resort A going to be at stop 1 while resort B is at bus stop 8. I understand some people hate walking all the way to the end of the epcot or DHS parking lot to try to catch a bus back to the resort. They'll look at all the other resort stops and wish they could hop on one of the closer busses. This thread is from a minor change about 5 months ago: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2333681 I don't think they change often or anything, but since all of the parks have different orders, I think it would be silly to choose a resort based on this.

I know the routes are pretty much set, I think this post was more about the pickup points when leaving the park, and those do change occasionally. But if I misunderstood the OP, sorry!

I did mean pick up points at the park!:) I know at MK and Epcot that Pop Century and the All Stars are way further from the gate at the end of the day than say the Wilderness Lodge or port orleans. Epcot especially it involves walking and walking and walking then turning then walking then turning lol.

I not confused, it's just early. I reread it and you are correct. I thought they wanted to know the order and locations of stops going to the parks from the resorts.
Except for Epcot, because they have a monorail, load zones at the parks may change slightly but very seldom and will not change back. For instance, a couple of months ago at MK, AKL went from 10 to 11 and WL changed slightly as well. But before that change, it had been a long time since the last change. Again if they change the stop number, the drivers computer display on the bus does not update to the correct number for weeks and if the drivers didn't see the notice, they'll go to the old location. So changes are a major occurance and inconvience for the drivers. If a driver works out of all the hubs, and a lot do, it's difficult to remember all the load zone locations at all the resorts and attractions. There are about 125 of them.
PM me if you want to know why they'll change a stop.

am i understanding this right? you are thinking of picking your resort based on where the bus stop is at the parks? the only thing i care about at the end of the day, is how long it is going to take my bus to get there. i hate standing in the bus queue. now if someone could tell me that, i would be grateful.

lol yeah I am :) Just because I have always stayed values and Im sure those who stay in say Pop Century can appreciate how long of a walk it is to the bus lines at the end of an MK or Epcot day! lol.

I was just curious that if they stayed in the same order was all :) I know the location of the All Star bus stops did not change from my 96 trip to my most recent trip...its always been the furthest away til they added Pop :) I figured that the deluxe bus stop locations never really changed at the parks

As well I'm not picking the resort based on this...but Im thinking of upgrading to a moderate resort which I have no preference which one and thought It'd be interesting to compare the pick up locations at the parks. it's not a deciding factor or anything the deciding factors are more food courts, layout of resort, theme and that just right fit feeling (Don't know how to explain it)

I'm not aware of a map, but I do have all of the bus stop numbers at all of the attractions and resorts. I can get it to you if it helps.

Respectfully, no - the order of the bus stops at the parks (the nonexistent map the OP seeks) doesn't change every day.

Coronado Springs. It's right next to AKL (deluxe). Well, at Animal Kingdom, anyway. Or it was. Or, wait - was it next to OKW? I forget. Anyway, yes, try CSR for a more centrally-located bus pickup :)

I might get in trouble here..

But given the miles and miles and miles of walking you do every day at the parks.. the "extra" distance to the bustop is -- at most - 300 feet. Being at DisneyWorld has a way of playing with your head.

People get concerned about the walk to the buses.. why? Because their feet hurt. Why do their feet hurt?

Because they didn't prepare themselves for what amounts to a walking vacation and they didn't take precautions to protect their feet. If people did the basics on foot care and preparing for a "walking vacation" -- they reallly wouldn't care about the extra 300 feet at the bus stops. Because their feet would either not hurt at all.. or hurt a lot less.

Anyways...

It's just not a great way to pick a resort... certainly it shouldn't be a major consideration because while it may change rarely - it can and does change.

Well, I don't see how you could be getting yourself in trouble for that opinion, Canadian Guy. I have to admit, I agree with you. I think it's interesting when Value resort Guests - most noticeably Pop Century, for some reason, even though All Star Music has the worst layout of the four (long and narrow) - repeatedly want to know if "preferred" rooms are worth the money because 'after a long day of walking in the parks, the last thing they want is a long* walk back to their room at the resort'

*Preferred rooms are within 500 feet of the main building; at Pop Century, NO room (allowing, of course, for floor variance) is more than 750 feet from Classice Hall.

*sigh* I walk 4- 5 hours a day as I dont have a car so im fine with the walking but my fiance isnt used to it and we have no issues stopping to sit...but since I was thinking of upgrading anyways on reasons not based on this I thought I'd ask out of curiousity. I didnt realize that asking the question would receive some of these answers...:( I know better for next time. Thank you for those who politely gave me the link to look at and for the person who suggest CSR:) We were thinking CBR or CSR so its interesting to note that in my pros and cons list. I hope everyone has a great day, and those waiting for the fall offers get some good news soon.

As I've sad quite a few times in the thread it was not a major consideration theme etc was...it was more of a food for though kinda question :(

Yeah - and I agreed with Canadian Guy (who has never bribed, coerced, or threatened me in any way in an attempt TO get me to agree with him :teeth: ) and then VERY seriously suggested Coronado Springs.

I have noticed that at Hollywood Studios in the mornings when coming off the Contemporary/Polynesian/Grand Floridian bus they will drop you off at the closest stop to the entrance gates, however their actual stop when going back is one of the farthest ones. So just because a bus might drop you off close does not mean that is where your loading area will be, which means it's always best to check the signs so you don't go back to that same area.
