Hello,
We are planning a Spring Break trip to Orlando and will be there on 4/4/21 - 4/6/21. I just checked on Disney website and all 4 parks are booked. Has anyone recently had success purchasing tickets at the gate to get in the same day? We're hoping to visit both Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on 4/5 and 4/6. I read online that if I show up before they are open, I can get tickets and wouldn't have to worry about park capacity?

Maybe you're thinking of Universal. You can probably get in there if you get there before the park opens

Your best bet is to keep checking the availability online. There seem to be a lot of people in your situation so you’re up against a lot of people for those park tickets and reservations.

It looks like I have to check the availability calendar before I purchase the tickets? The Disney app would let me buy ticket even if only one park is available.

Spring Break is traditionally a very busy time at WDW. Keep in mind that all of the kids in Florida and neighboring states are on Spring Break at about the same time and WDW is still at 35% capacity.

This is incorrect. You must have a theme park reservation to enter one of WDW’s parks, and a ticket is required to make a thene park reservation. Ticket sales have been suspended for certain dates due to capacity. Unfortinately I don’t see that being lifted, WDW has been very firm about refusing to sell tickets for those dates. I suggest trying another destination.

And that would be the park you would have to go to.

Definitely check the calendar. I think the website even tells you this. They are warning you.

i see Easter and the day before have availability. Any chance to back up your days? Never mind - only EPCOT.

How are you able to see that? I was trying earlier and I couldn't see what was booked and what wasn't. I am looking because I currently have a 6 day ticket and park reservations but was hoping to add a day if there was park availability . I am there the same time frame.

A little off topic, but I have noticed there is availability some days for Annual Passholders when there is none for Resort Guests. On these days, if you are both an Annual Passholder and a Resort Guest, can you still get a reservation as a passholder? I would assume so, but with Disney, you never know.

You can. If you try for more than 3 days though you have to call and get help. It defaults to the Resort Guest but if you have an AP and are staying longer than 3 days they will make the reservations for you. Unfortunately you can't easily change them without assistance though.

1) Alas, during Spring Break, the only good hope is for Epcot.
2) Due to size and fewer rides, capacity is higher than other parks.
3) You do have a good shot at Universal.
4) Also, no WDW ticket refunds if you don't get in.

I'm actually having trouble with that calendar today. I'm trying to book a reservation to Epcot on 4/10. According to the availability calendar, Epcot is the only park avail right now on that date. But when I try to make the reservation on the tickets that I have linked in MDE it's telling me there's no availability and to choose a different date. So, I'm skeptical now of the accuracy of that calendar. I figured it could just be that I was trying to make the reservation right when the park hit capacity, but I've been re-checking for the last few hours and it's still the same - I figured they'd have had time to get the calendar updated on the site in that amount of time. I'm going to give it a while longer and then try calling to see if I can get any assistance.

The availability calendar does not update in real time. I don't know how often they update it, but it could be less often than every few hours.

Who is 'they'? Where should I be calling?
