Theme park "Cheat Sheets" - your opinions, please

I think this would be a wonderful addition to the UG. I believe there are many of us who feel we're experienced Disney guests, but still like to use the UG as a reference. We know our way around quite well but still use the touring plans as a guide so we can tour efficiently and maximize our time. I agree that this chart would be extremely helpful for new visitors, but I know I would print it out and keep it with us.

Wow! I really like it, thanks for the link!

It would be nice to see cheat sheets for the other parks too!

I agree they look very helpful, but would like the ride names down the left and times across the top.

Agreed. It doesn't print well in landscape mode in present form.

I like it too. As others have said, I think the rides going down rather than across would be easier to read. And if you can keep it the size of an index card so it would easy to carry around in a pocket it'd be great!! I don't want to go "commando" style for our first trip (the family would revolt and ditch me some place) so I'm planning to just use a touring plan as a guide. Something like this would be great to supplement that idea. I'd love to have this for our trip in August.

I love it. I know I've tried several times to create something similar to this from the UG information, but haven't been able to make it that simple. I read yours and just slapped my head and thought "of course!" It is fine the way it is, or you could flip the rides to the vertical part as others seem to prefer, doesn't matter to me. I sort of disagree on the suggestions of putting in EMH times, refurbs, park hours, etc. All that information would be great, but it's available elsewhere and subject to change at a moment's notice. It would also clutter things up, I think. Less is more, I guess. Also, I'm sure all the good people at the UG don't want to be spending valuable time constantly updating these sheets for every refurb change, time change, etc.

This is awesome!!! I absolutely love this idea! I hope it's up in time for my trip in May.

one comment: your times of "until 10:00" and "until 11:00" and "until noon" overlap. Why not just "until 10:00" "10:00 to 11:00" and "11:00 to noon?"

A big UNOFFICAL FAN! :D

This looks like a great touring tool.I like it in it's present format.A good companion to the touring plans from the Guide.

Since the dining plan is new with some interesting options, could we have a small sheet with the menus of counter service places?

For our trip, I put together a cheat sheet for each park listing the counter service meals and snacks our family would be interested in. I got the info from the menus on allearsnet.com. It was very helpful to be able to quickly look at my list and decide where/what to eat. Also knowing what we wanted ahead of time made it easier for one of us to quickly order while other one grabbed a table with the kids.

As a person who loves the UG (I think I own every year since 2000), I really like the sheet. I see pros and cons to the rides on the levt vs across the top.

We usually make our own cheat sheet using the info from the UG. This would be a wonderful addition!

:ssst:I would love cheat sheets!! Feel like I'm in high school again! :teeth:
I found everything in the Unofficial Guide to be the absolute best in advice and planning!

Looks good, my only suggestion would be to remove the Y's and leave the boxes white. With the no-visit boxes being grey, the white is easy enough to see and the Y's just make it look busy. If these are going to be printed in color it would be more helpful to make the boxes of 1's a different color as they are a bit 'lost' amongst the white boxes with the Y's in them.

some of the "not recommended" times are because the attractions are closed? (IE during the early magic hour?) knowing that would be helpful.

Here's the link: http://www.touringplans.com/images/MKCheatSheetSample.jpg

The Unofficial Guide is thinking about publishing a series of "cheat sheets" for each Disney theme park. These "cheat sheets" will show the best times to visit each attraction in a given park. If FASTPASS is recommended, we'll show that, too.

The sheets are mean to supplement our touring plans, not replace them. They can be used when adapting one of our plans to specific circumstances, or to catch up if you have to make an unexpected detour

I would DEFINITELY use the cheat sheets. My family and I have never been to WDW before and can use any help we can get!! If y'all decide to put them into effect (or umm..whatever) please please please let me know *trying to stay off knees and begging*. We are going in June....*Hint*
