I have had some trouble picking a theme for our wedding. Originally I was all for the "Cinderella" wedding. Then I decided against it when we ruled out the carriage due to price, and picked ADH as our reception location. Then I chose my colors, centerpieces, cake, and the all were very Cinderellish, so I was back to that. I haven't officially done much yet, and now I am starting to wonder if this is the theme I want to stick with. I'm just not sure how well it will mesh with ADH, but I really like my colors (periwinkle and silver) and many of the other aspects I have chosen. The other theme I am considering is 1920's-1930's-1940's art deco theme. I LOVE the Great Gatsby and have seen other weddings with similar themes and loved them. Obviously this would go great in ADH. If I were having a wedding up here this is what I would do, but since it is in Disney I feel like I might want to do the whole Cinderella thing. I need advice. I have been having second thoughts about everything!

Ummm, I hope you don't get mad at me :rolleyes1 but I'm doing practically the exact same thing as you. We are having a Cinderella-ish wedding, our colors are ice blue and silver, and we are using ADH. :wizard: Along with that, I don't really want it to be completely Cinderella themed, and really just want more of a true Disney experience and incorporate lots of Disney, if that makes sense. So yes, still doing princessy stuff but also having other Disney stuff incorporated so it's not saturated with Cinderella. princess:

When I was hearing about your ideas, I was thinking about Hollywood starlets wearing ice blue silk dresses, so how about Vintage Hollywood or Vintage Fairytale- in a subtle way. I am thinking things like ostrich feather centerpieces or roses and feathers, including some crystals or pearls, vintage picture frames, vintage looking tiara, etc.

Not blue, but similar in "theme". It has that "princessy" vibe without being "Cinderella", if that makes sense.

Because it is in Disney, I actually think the reverse of what you said- that I would do LESS Disney things. I mean, I had a hidden Mickey in pearls in my bouquet and a Disney ring bearer pillow, but I didn't want an overload of Disney since we were already in Disney World, just something to think about.

Of course I wouldn't be mad lol... I just see it as we both have good taste!:rotfl: I was actually going for the just "Disney" theme as well, but like I said when I picked everything out it was all Cinderella themed. I will probably end up sticking with this, I just always liked the idea of a 1920's glam wedding, and ADH is such a perfect spot to do this. Maybe I will just get my fix in by doing a Gatsby themed Halloween Party or something. :lmao:

Here is some inspiration in case you needed it for a Gatsby wedding...although I have never read the Great Gatsby...so I just read the sparknotes and it is not a very happy story...much less a happy ending...which Cinderella does have:

First you HAVE to check out Nicole's vintage wedding...she was a disney bride and I LOVE everything about her wedding! It wasn't great gatsby but it had the same feel...if she can do it...so can you!

There are a ton of weddings you can look at if you do a google search for "great gatsby wedding" or "great gatsby party"
