Okay, this is my first trip report, so please don't flame me if I don't get everything exactly right. :)

The Trip: After packing late into the night Thursday, we (DDad, DMom, DB16, DB18, and myself [18])got up at 5 AM Friday to begin the several hours' drive to WDW. We were on the road by 6, and as usual, I slept nearly the entire trip! We had left a bit early to avoid the rush hour traffic through Tampa, so when we got close to WDW we decided we had time for a good breakfast. An hour at Perkin's later and we were back on our way! My favorite landmark to look for is the Mickey electrical tower-thing (don't know what to call it, lol), because I know we're getting very close! After some small debate we decided that we would go to the Magic Kingdom, and proceeded to the monorail after parking. The monorails are very pretty now with their YOAMD overlay; I know that some people don't like it, though. The bag check line was long, but before long we were in the park!

Once we were inside, DDad sent DMom into Guest Services to pick up our AP renewals. I wanted to go with her since the two of us would be spending the day doing 'girl stuff', but DDad told me not to so he and I and my DB's stood outside and planned part of the day.

NEXT: Here's where the fun begins! :teeth:

When DMom came out of Guest Services, I was excited to see the new ticket designs for YOAMD. They are so beautiful! I had to tease DDad because he got one with Tinkerbell on it, and I also teased DB16 because got Cinderella! I got Mickey and friends in the Teacup ride, which I think that DB16 would have much preferred! :teeth: Then we parted ways; the guys headed off in one direction and us girls went in another.

As we strolled up Main Street DMom and I passed the bakery and decided, what the heck? We're at Disney right? We can do whatever we want! So we went inside. I got a chocolate chip cookie and chocolate milk (the more chocolate the better, especially at 9:30 in the morning!) and DMom had a bear claw. Then we stood and stared at the beautiful crystal replica of Cinderella Castle in the crystal shop. I guessed that it cost $5,500... back to that later. After that, we walked towards the real Cinderella Castle, and I told DMom that I'd never walked through it. She was surprised! I told her that most of the time I come with only the guys and all they want to do is run from 'cool' ride to 'cool' ride and walking through the Castle is definitely not cool. So I walked through Cinderella Castle for the first time in my life.

At the end, we saw a small shop and decided to go in. It was full of beautiful artwork and jewelry, and we saw another one of the replica Cinderella Castles. This time the price was beside it: $37,500! :scared1: Needless to say, I backed away quickly. I didn't want to be anywhere near that display in case I mysteriously tripped and fell through the glass and broke that castle... After a few more minutes, we left and emerged into Fantasyland!

NEXT: Something special at the Carrousel... :)

Good job. I think I saw that castel when I went. ( I just missed you! I went nov. 1-11)

DMom and I got in line for the Carrousel, and again it was something I had to admit to her I hadn't done before. (She was sick for quite awhile and couldn't come when the guys and I came, and before I began to believe in Disney magic again I only wanted to do the 'cool' stuff like the guys; how wrong I was! :sad2: ) So when we were waiting in line, we noticed that Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy Duck and a few other characters were riding the Carrousel! When we got on the ride, we noticed that there were also television cameras rolling! We joked that we may be on resort TV someday! :rotfl: Unfortunately we were on the other side of the ride from the characters, but it was still cool. :)

After the ride was done, we went to Snow White's Scary Adventures and though the sign said the wait time was 10 minutes, there was nobody in line! We just walked on. Now that was a ride that DMom could say she hadn't done, and she liked it. Next was Mickey's PhilharMagic, which I went on previously with DDad but it was new to DMom. Then we went on it's a small world and she told me about the time when DB18 and I were babies and we rode IASW. We would get off the ride and then they'd ask us what we wanted to do next. We always said "Toy babies!" (meaning we wanted to ride with the dolls again). Poor dad must have taken us on that ride 10 times in a row! :rotfl2: Next we decided to head to Adventureland.

NEXT: Set sail for Adventureland!

On to Adventureland! I told Mom that I wanted to try something that I'd heard about on "a Disney website" (here, of course!); a Dole Whip. We ordered ours and they were some of the best things we've ever eaten! (Thanks for the tip, DISers! :thumbsup2) Then the guys rejoined us and while we convinced DB18 to try a Dole Whip, Dad had a root beer float and DB16 refused saying that "floats are disgusting". Who, him? Nah, he's not related. :rolleyes1

We decided to take Mom on POTC since she hadn't seen it since the refurb, and we took the long way around Aladdin's Magic Carpets to show her the pavement that was full of treasure. The wait was too long, so we left and decided to return at about 5:00 so as to have 2 hours left before park closing.

So where to go next? It was only noon. We voted for Animal Kingdom.

NEXT: A walk on the wild side!

Great report! that non-float brother of yours must be adopted :)

Once at AK, we saw that our favorite ride, Expedition Everest, had no FastPasses left and a 45 minute line. We decided to eat lunch at the Flame Tree Barbecue since Mom loves their ribs. Mom and I got ribs, DB's both got sandwiches and Dad went off to get FastPasses for DINOSAUR! and a cheeseburger at Restaurantosaurus. When we were all done, Mom, DB18 and I went to see the Festival of the Lion King. It is a fantastic show! We always love every minute of it!

Then it was time for our DINOSAUR! FastPasses, and since Mom won't ride any 'thrill' rides (the Carrousel is wild enough for her!) we left her at the pin trading store with instructions to try to find the VMK mystery pin set for me. There was practically no wait for the ride, so we got on quickly. About halfway through the ride, we broke down. It was pitch black and very creepy! We break down on other attractions regularly but never on DINOSAUR! before. I think the only attraction I would dislike to break down on more is Haunted Mansion. Spooky! :scared1:

After the ride got going again and we disembarked, we went to find Mom. As we're approaching the shop, what do we see but the Dream Team! We walked by quickly so as not to seem stalker-like, but I was so excited that I decided to walk by again on the other side of the street just to see what was going on. In those 30 seconds, the Dream Team disappeared. :( We decided since it was nearly 4:00 that we would go check into our hotel room.

And I'm usually such a light eater... :rotfl: Well, to my credit, I only had fruit and half a muffin at Perkins and I only ate half of my ribs and half of my beans... But still, only at Disney! :)

lol but you had all your cookie and dole whip! the best things :)

We drove to our hotel and checked in. We were staying in a non-Disney resort on Disney property; a DoubleTree Suites. They always give us the best chocolate chip cookies when we check in, and the rooms have enough space for a family of 5 grown and almost grown people. After we took all our bags up, Dad and I planned to go back to the Magic Kingdom. I had been wearing a light fleece jacket all day, but Dad said that we would be there until the park closing which is after dark and that I should take my leather jacket as well since it would get cold. After driving to MK we took the tram, and our announcer person was a wonderful CM named Benny (I hope that's his name; he told us that but he has a heavy accent. I've always been able to understand him rather well, though.). We've had him twice before and he's always so funny he gets the whole tram laughing hysterically. :rotfl:

At the entrance to MK, we saw that almost all of the turnstiles were blocked off for the guests of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. There were a few that were for regular guests, and when we went through them I wished so badly that we were going through those other turnstiles for the party. I'd been wanting to go for 4 years, ever since I heard of the event, but I never got to. :( But we got into the park and Dad asked me what I wanted to do. I wanted to ride Pirates, so we started going over the bridge to Adventureland. I was walking slightly ahead of him and about halfway across the bridge he said, "Wait. You've got something in your hair." I stopped and he messed with my hair for a second then said, "What's this?" and showed me a park ticket. I thought why is he showing me one of our new tickets?, but then I looked closer and noticed that it was the Incredibles design which we didn't have. I got scared and thought, oh no! how did that get there? someone's ticket got stuck in my hair and they'll think I stole it! Then Dad turned the ticket over and I saw the back. "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Valid only 11/17." My eyes got wide and my jaw dropped. Dad laughed and said, "So, what do you want to do now?"

NEXT: Dreams really do come true!

My heart was beating very fast and I could hardly talk so I stuttered, "Uh... I don't know." Dad suggested that we go and get our wristbands, so we went and waited in line for awhile and got them and our MVMCP schedule. Then, we went to Adventureland and the wait time for Pirates was 20 minutes. I didn't want to wait that long so we went shopping in Frontierland for something salty to eat later when we got tired of cookies and hot chocolate. We found some pretzels in a small shop but didn't buy them because we didn't want to carry them around. Then, we heard the announcement that Wishes would be starting soon, and we had decided that we wanted to be in Tomorrowland for the first Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas show so we hurried across the hub. We went to get a look at the theater the show would be in, then I got a brilliant idea; why not ride Astro Orbiter during Wishes so we could see the fireworks while we were flying? So we got in line, and waited while Wishes was going on. We thought we were going to make it, but we were the next to ride when the finale came. :( Still, it was a spectacular view from the top of the Rocket Tower, and the ride was fun. I noticed while we were in the air that snowflakes were being projected onto Space Mountain!

When we got off the ride we went directly to the Galaxy Palace Theater where 'Twas the Night Before Christmas would be played; it was already half full! We got a seat in the back and waited for 30 minutes while the rest of the theater filled. It was standing room only! One guy in particular stood behind us with a camera. He kept complaining about people crowding him and stuff, and once even tried to sit on the back of the bench but ended up sitting on Dad instead! :rotfl: The show was cute and fun. :) After it was over, we went over to one of my favorite rides, Big Thunder Mountain. If I thought it was fun in the day, it's twice as fun at night! Next was the Haunted Mansion, and let me tell you, darkness does make it more scary!

NEXT: The cookie line...

Oh wow, what a sweet Dad you have. You will remember that special moment forever.

Yes, I certainly will. :) Dad can get grumpy at times but most times he's wonderful. And no matter how old I get I am definitely Daddy's little girl. :)

Wonderful ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thank you for reading! And thank you to everyone who has read, even if you haven't posted anything. (shame on you...) ;) :teeth:

It was getting very cold; so cold, in fact, that I had to wear both of the jackets I had brought! And even then, I was shivering so badly that we decided it was time for hot chocolate and cookies. When we got to the treat stop, we were surprised to see a long line! We must have waited for 10 minutes to get our hot chocolate! By the time we got out of the building, it was time for the early parade, which we wanted to avoid. So we took a wander through Fantasyland and started shopping. Now, I hadn't thought there was any chance of my getting to go to MVMCP, so I hadn't done my merchandise research. I looked everywhere for the event pins, but couldn't find them. I also wanted the winter Mickey ears, but we only saw them in one place and when we found them I chickened out. :sad2: I usually don't wear hats and I thought my brothers would insist I walk 10 paces behind them if I wore Mickey ears (later I found that they wouldn't have cared at all... go figure). So I decided to find a t-shirt.

Now, I usually fit comfortably in an Adult Small shirt; it's big enough to be comfortable but small enough to be somewhat flattering. So, I tried an Adult Small t-shirt up to myself. The hem was down at the middle of my thigh! So I thought, one size smaller. The Youth XL was just as bad. After hitting all the stores again (poor Dad; he despises shopping!) I decided to take a risk and get the Youth Medium. Dad said if it didn't fit we could bring it back and exchange it, but I couldn't (and still can't) figure out when that would happen. :confused3 We finally found the MVMCP event pins at the Exposition Hall, then it was time for Holiday Wishes!

NEXT: All our Wishes will come true!
