The Young Avengers: World Tour (YARP Part 4)

OOC: Yeah, I really don't know. Nothing's seemed to happen to Clint, no one talks about him.

Mike: "What did you do? You know what, never mind, I have to go." He got off stage.

The show started with the prologue, the auction.

OOC:

AUCTIONEER: Sold. Your number, sir? Thank you. Lot 663, then, ladies and gentlemen: a poster for this house's production of "Hannibal" by Chalumeau.

PORTER: Showing here.

AUCTIONEER: Do I have ten francs? Five then. Five I am bid. Six, seven. Against you, sir, seven. Eight. Eight once. Selling twice. Sold, to Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny. Lot 664: a wooden pistol and three human skulls from the 1831 production of "Robert le Diable" by Meyerbeer. Ten francs for this. Ten, thank you. Ten francs still. Fifteen, thank you, sir. Fifteen I am bid. Going at fifteen. Your number, sir? 665, ladies and gentlemen: a papier-mache musical box, in the shape of a barrel-organ. Attached, the figure of a monkey in Persian robes playing the cymbals. This item, discovered in the vaults of the theatre, still in working order.

PORTER:Showing here.

AUCTIONEER: May I start at twenty francs? Fifteen, then? Fifteen I am bid. Sold, for thirty francs to the Vicomte de Chagny. Thank you, sir.

RAOUL:A collector's piece indeed . . . every detail exactly as she said . . .She often spoke of you, my friend ....Your velvet lining, and your figurine of lead...Will you still play, when all the rest of us are dead?

AUCTIONEER:Lot 666, then: a chandelier in pieces. Some of you may recall the strange affair of the Phantom of the Opera:a mystery never fully explained. We are told, ladies and gentlemen, that this is the very chandelier which figures in the famous disaster. Our workshops have repaired it and wired parts of it for the new electric light, so that we may get a hint of how it may look when reassembled. Perhaps we may frighten away the ghost of so many years ago with a little illumination, gentlemen?

OOC: Are we going to post the entire thing?

Valery: she said her lines as the auctioneer.

Eli and Nancy: they got ready to enter the stage with the others.

Suddenly there was color and light and the orchestra began the Overture. The scene began with the frenzy of a rehearsal, while Firman (Conrad) and Andre (Eli) actually arrived at the theatre through the audience. Hope was glowing as Christine.

Hannibal

Carlotta (Rose):
This trophy
From our saviors
From our saviors
From the enslaving force
Of Rome!

Chorus:
With feasting and dancing and song
Tonight in celebration
We greet the victorious throng
Returned to bring salvation

The trumpet of carthage resound
Hear, Romans, now and tremble
Hark to our step on ground
Hear the drums!
Hannibal comes!

Piangi/Hannibal:
Sad to return
To find the land we love
Threatened once more
By Roma's far-reaching grasp

(All spoken)
Monsieur Reyer (William):
Gentlemen, gentlemen--

Monsieur Lefevre:
Rehearsals, as you can see, are underway for a new production on Chalumeau's Hannibal

Monsieur Reyer (William):
Monsieur Lefevre, I am rehearsing!

Monsieur Lefevre:
Monsieur Reyer, Madame Giry
Ladies and gentlemen, please, if I could have your attention, thank you. As you know, for some weeks there have been rumors of my imminent retirement. I can now tell you that these are all true

Carlotta (Rose): (interrupting)
ah-Ha!

Lefevre: (Continued) And it is my pleasure to introduce you to the two gentlemen who now own the Opera Populaire: Monsieur Richard Firmin and Monsieur Gilles Andre. I'm sure you have read of their recent fortune in the Junk business.

ANDRE (Eli): Scrap metal, actually.

MEG (Evelyn): (Whispering to Christine) They must be rich.

Monsieur Firmin (Conrad):
And we are deeply honored to introduce our new patron,

Monsieur Andre (Eli):
The Vicomte de Chagny

CHRISTINE (Hope): It's Raoul. Before my father died, at the house by the sea, I guess you could say we were childhood sweethearts. He called me Little Lotte.

MEG (Evelyn): Christine, he's so handsome.

Raoul (Jay):
My parents and I are honored to support all the arts, especially the world-renowned Opera Populaire.

Monsieur Lefevre:
Vicomte, gentlemen, Signora Carlotta Giudicelli, our leading soprano for five seasons.

Voices/Piangi:
Brava! Brava!

Monsieur Lefevre:
Signor Ubaldo Piangi

Raoul (Jay):
An honor signor. I believe I am keeping you from your rehearsal. I will be here this evening to share your great triumph. My apologies, monsieur.

Monsieur Reyer (William):
Thank you, monsieur le Vicomte!
Once more if you please, signor

CARLOTTA (Rose)
He love me. He love me. Love me, love me, love me.

CHRISTINE (Hope)
He wouldn't recognize me.

MEG (Evelyn)
He didn't see you.

GIRY (Nancy)
If you please, Monsieur.

(The ballet continues)

Madame Giry (Nancy):
We take particular pride in the excellence of our ballet, monsieur

Monsieur Andre (Eli):
I see why.
Especially that little blond angel.

Madame Giry (Nancy):
My daughter, Meg Giry

Monsieur Firmin (Conrad):
And that exceptional beauty
No relation, I trust?

Madame Giry (Nancy):
Christine Daae.
Promising talent, Monsieur Firmin,
Very promising.

Monsieur Andre (Eli):
Daae, did you say?
No relation to the Famous Swedish Violinist?

Madame Giry (Nancy):
His only child.
Orphaned at 7 when she came to live and train in the ballet dormitories.

Monsieur Firmin (Conrad):
An orphan, you say?

(singing)
Chorus:
Hannibal's Friends!

The trumpeting elephant sound
Hear, Romans, now and tremble
Hark to their step on the ground
Hear the drums!
Hannibal comes!

(all spoken)
Carlotta (Rose):
All day!
All they want is the dancing!

Monsieur Lefevre:
Well, the Vicomte is very excited about tonight's gala.

Carlotta (Rose):
I hope he is as excited about dancing girls as your new managers,
Because I will not be singing!

Monsieur Andre (Eli):
What do we do?

Monsieur Lefevre:
Grovel
Grovel, grovel.

Monsieur Firmin (Conrad):
Right.

Monsieur Andre (Eli):
Principessa Bella Diva!

Carlotta (Nancy): Si! Si! Si!

Monsieur Firmin (Conrad) :
Goddess of song!

Monsieur Andre (Eli):
Monsieur Reyer, isn't there a rather marvelous aria for Elissa in Act. 3 of Hannibal?

Monsieur Firmin (Conrad):
Perhaps the signora--

Carlotta (Rose):
Yes, Yes, But, NO!
Coz' I 'ave not my costume for Act. 3,
Coz' (shouting at someone) SOMEONE not finish it!
And I 'ate my hat
No, that's better (laughs)
If my managers command!
Monsieur Reyer?

Monsieur Reyer (William):
If my diva commands?

Carlotta (Rose):
Yes, I do.

OOC: Are we going to post the entire thing?

Valery: she said her lines as the auctioneer.

Eli and Nancy: they got ready to enter the stage with the others.

OOC: No, it was an outdated script I used, that was the only part relevant. I'll be posting all songs

Evelyn: She was having a wonderful time preforming. It felt magical preforming on stage, and you seemed to forgot you were on a a stage and actually in France.

Jay: This was a blast. And Hope was perfect for the role! She was stunning.

OOC: Sounds like you did a good job in a bad one

Now prepping for the show

OOC: Yeah...
Do you want us to just say that the characters went through their parts, or do you want us to actually go through the scripts you post?

Will: He went through his parts, the anxiety he'd been feeling disappearing.

Penny: She sat with the other YAs and who weren't on stage.

OOC: I can't remember, when does Phantom drop the curtain on top of Carlotta?

Rose: she sang in an over dramatic style as Carlotta, which sounded really funny.

Eli: he said his lines, doing his best to act.

Gordon: He was ready.

Thor and Jane and Coulson: They sat in the middle away from the other avengers to prevent people from becoming suspicious.

OOC: I can't remember, when does Phantom drop the curtain on top of Carlotta?

Rose: she sang in an over dramatic style as Carlotta, which sounded really funny.

Eli: he said his lines, doing his best to act.

OOC: In a moment, hang on....

OOC:

Carlotta starts it, contains curtain drop

Christine steps in

They get into Think of me. Carlotta happens, then Christine starts to sing. After 'spare a though for me', it blacks out for a moment, then everything goes back up for the opera and Hope is in an entirely different costume, and then she goes on to follow through and finish the song.

CHRISTINE (Hope):
Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me once in a while
Please promise me, you'll try

When you'll find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you'll ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me

We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me

Think of all the things
We've shared and seen
Don't think about the way
Things might have been

Think of me, think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me trying too hard
To put you from my mind

Recall those days, look back on all those times
Think of those things we'll never do
There will never be a day
When I won't think of you

RAOUL (Jay):
Can it be?
Can it be Christine? Bravo!

Long ago, it seems so long ago
How young and innocent we were
She may not remember me
But I remember her

CHRISTINE (Hope):
Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade
They have their seasons, so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
You will think of me

OOC: Yeah...
Do you want us to just say that the characters went through their parts, or do you want us to actually go through the scripts you post?

Will: He went through his parts, the anxiety he'd been feeling disappearing.

Penny: She sat with the other YAs and who weren't on stage.

OOC: I think that would be complicated, it's simpler just to say they said it.

Nancy: after the curtain fell she picked up a letter from the Phantom.

OOC: Happy summer Young Avengers!

Bruce: He applauded with the crowd after think of me. Wow, Hope was doing a great job!

After Think of Me, the scene shifted to the cast celebrating. Meg moved through the crowd and into the chapel where Christine was honoring her father.

Angel of Music

PHANTOM (Luke):
Brava, Brava, Bravissima

MEG (Evelyn):
Christine, Christine

PHANTOM (Luke):
Christine

MEG (Evelyn):
Where in the world have you been hiding?
Really, you were perfect
I only wish I knew your secret
Who is your great tutor?

Instrumental (Explanation)

CHRISTINE (Hope):
Father once spoke of an Angel
I used to dream he'd appear
Now as I sing I can sense him
And I know he's here

Here in this room, he calls me softly
Somewhere inside, hiding
Somehow I know he's always with me
He, the unseen genius

MEG (Evelyn):
Christine you must have been dreaming
Stories like this can't come true
Christine you're talking in riddles
And it's not like you

CHRISTINE (Hope):
Angel of music, guide and guardian
Grant to me your glory

CHRISTINE (Hope):
Angel of music, hide no longer
Secret and strange Angel

CHRISTINE (Hope):
He's with me even now

MEG (Evelyn):
Your hands are cold

CHRISTINE (Hope):
All around me

MEG (Evelyn):
Your face, Christine, it's white!

CHRISTINE (Hope):
It frightens me,

MEG (Evelyn):
Don't be frightened ...

Thor: He was fidgeting in his mortal clothes and Jane was trying to get him to stop.

Jane: She looked back at Thora and smiled.

Thora: She ignored her and worked on her job as lighting.

Gordon: He waited nervously.

Nancy: she stood next to Gordon and squeezed his shoulder. "I can see Britannia," she whispered, peering through the crowd. She didn't have another scene for quite a while.

OOC: Please tell me the twins are going to quit giving Jane the cold shoulder soon.
