The Young Avengers: The X Factor (YARP Part 5)

Logan: He took her hand and kissed it. "Nice to meet you, Andrea."

Andrea: She smiled slightly. "A pleasure." She searched for something to say. "So, you must know Gordon and Thora well. I must admit I don't know most people here well."

Andrea: She smiled slightly. "A pleasure." She searched for something to say. "So, you must know Gordon and Thora well. I must admit I don't know most people here well."

Logan: "Gordon and Thora are the only people I feel comfortable around here."

Andrea: "I had an argument with my mother and ran away from home, ran to the tower. Bruce has always been good to me. What about you?"

Jay: He joined the conversation. "Yeah. Bruce is DA MAN!"

Evelyn: She shook her head and chuckled.

OOC: Okay, I don't want anyone to take any of this personally, this is all just Nova writing out her thoughts. Now, please enojoy the first entry of Nova's journal.

Nova: Since she had nothing to do and no one was bothering her, she took out the journal her mom gave her. Frowning, Nova pulled out a black pen from her pocket, then began to write in her journal.

So my mom gave me this-this journal to help me write out my thoughts. She thinks it will help me “lose my attitude” or something like that. I so don’t know what she’s talking about. But since this is the first useful gift she’s given me, I guess it won’t hurt to try writing in it. Normally I would kill for an hour to write, but I’m stuck at the stupid Avengers tower. The people here are all prodigy kids, the good kids, the nice ones, the ones who do the best things out of the goodness of their heart, natural heroes. The world always needs more heroes, everyone knows that there isn’t enough out there.
But I do admit that a couple of them are pretty cool. Even if some of them aren’t. Since no one but me is going to read this anyway, I guess it’s good to get your thoughts out. Maybe this will help me with my “attitude issues” and whatnot, but I’m swearing to myself to never repeat this to anybody. I don’t care who asks me what I’m doing, because it’s none of their business anyway.
I guess we should start with Raven, Nick Fury’s daughter. She’s really hardcore, so hardcore that she almost killed herself. But then again, I guess if you’re trained all your life to be a weapon, there’s really nothing you can do with your life. I seriously think she’s going to get herself killed. But I don’t dislike the girl, I really don’t, I actually think she’s one of the most trustworthy people on the team.
Team. Man, I hate that word. Honestly, it sounds too friendly. It sounds like something Captain America’s son, Mike, would say. However, Mike’s okay, at least I can always count on him to do the right thing.
Hope is the Hulk’s kid. I think she’s all right. I’m not saying anything against her, because there’s really not a cruel word anyone can have. She’s easily one of the most popular team members, assuming that we have a team member social ladder. Do those even exist?
Oh, yeah, and she’s also dating the son of Hawkeye. Jay, um, there’s not much one can say about Jay. I think he’s all right of an agent, and as a person he’s kind of funny. He is a really good shot, but I don’t think that counts for a person. That sums him up.
Evelyn is one of my allies here. I do trust her with my life. Evelyn is probably one of the first friends I’ve had in ages, which is because we’re both on the same cheerleading team. Don’t even get me started. I think Evelyn is definitely one of the popular team members, so I guess it’s good to have friends in high places.
I don’t mind June Coulson either. She seems to be resourceful. She made some bad choices, but I don’t think it’s fair to judge her on one mistake. I think I could easily be allies with June, but we don’t really ever talk. Heck, I only talk with Evelyn, Raven, and Thora.
Thora, she’s the daughter of Thor. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to be allies-friends-with her. She’s tough, even if she can break easily. And I know that it’s not her fault. I mean, I consider her a great friend.
Gordon’s her brother. He’s kinda okay. I don’t hate him. But he’s super emotional. I don’t know if it is wrong to say, but I honestly don’t think someone like him should be getting emotional.
I don’t really know what to think about Logan, as I haven’t known him that long. It’s the same deal with Conrad, but I guess he’s a lot like Mike.
Eli is the son of Tony Stark, and he sort of acts like his father. But then there’s times where he doesn’t, so you might as well count him as his own person. Eli hasn’t really spoken to me much either. He seems okay, but I just don’t even know. He occasionally has that look in his eye that says “I’m hiding something!”, but I’m speculating.
I don’t really know what to think of his sister, but I guess Penny’s also nice.
Phillip Coulson is the tricky one. I’m not sure what goes on in his head. I’m not sure if I want to know, but sometimes I think just getting inside someone’s head is a better way of understanding them. Phil seems fine as a person and he hasn’t killed anyone yet, so I suppose I can trust him. Phil is probably going through a lot, I’m sure I’d be going through a lot if my dad came back to life.
Nancy is Mike’s sister. She’s kinda like Mike. In a way, she ends up her own person. I think she’s a pretty good fighter and she’s a nice person, so I assume she’s just going through a lot. Being from 1942, she’s definitely trying her hardest to embrace the new world.
It seems like the people here are a lot like the people from one of my boarding schools. They were also sorta nice, but they were going through a lot so they kind of just stuck to their own selves. And because this is a “team”, we’re practically required to interact. I don’t interact with any of them except for three people. At least it’s two more than my normal number, see mom, I’m getting better!
That brings me to my mother. She certainly has put me through so much. I have been to twelve different boarding schools, but thanks to my brilliance, I managed to get myself kicked out. Every time she got called in, her eyes were the coldest I’ve seen. Never have I seen her fight, except for maybe once or twice, and she’s never had the eyes she bears when looking at me.
I’m a disappointment. I’ll admit it. But the one thing I can’t do is be broken.

Nova wrote the last word and read it over to herself silently, then actually began to feel a little bit better now that most of her thoughts had been cleared from her head.

Andrea: "I had an argument with my mother and ran away from home, ran to the tower. Bruce has always been good to me. What about you?"

Logan: "Thor convinced my mother, Lady Sif, that it would be good for me to work with a team my age."

Jay: He joined the conversation. "Yeah. Bruce is DA MAN!"

Evelyn: She shook her head and chuckled.

Logan: He jumped. "Good gods!"

June: She jumped, waking up, accidentally smashing her head against Conrad's chin. "Dang it, Jay!" She kissed Conrad's chin. "I'm so sorry, baby."

OOC: Not taken at all personally.
It was a really fun and interesting read.

Nova: Nova had shoved her diary away and raised her eyebrows at the ruckus going on. She smirked. "Too loud!"

Logan: "Thor convinced my mother, Lady Sif, that it would be good for me to work with a team my age."

Andrea: "So you're a god, I take it?" She didn't appear impressed, just curious.

OOC: For some reason I feel like Logan and Andrea could possibly bond as friends over neither having dads

Logan: He jumped. "Good gods!"

June: She jumped, waking up, accidentally smashing her head against Conrad's chin. "Dang it, Jay!" She kissed Conrad's chin. "I'm so sorry, baby."

Conrad: He put his hand on his chin, jumping, and pulled out his headphones. "What the Helheim just happened?"
