OOC: Time skip!
It had been two weeks.
Hope's condition was steadily declining. During the week that Hope was in school, she would get random pains and headaches. She also found it hard to focus and often needed one or two cat naps/power naps per lesson. She wasn't trying to be disrespectful, she just couldn't keep up, especially when she was trying a medication that would make her drowsy. One day, she went to get up for the day to get ready for school and she fell out of bed because she couldn't stand and she couldn't get back up off the floor. That was the day that Dr. Banner un-enrolled her from the school and set her up in the Hospital Wing. Hope's hair was also thinning and they had to keep trimming off the dead parts. Hope was now pretty much confined to her bed. She spent most of her time with either Jay, Eli or Raven, sometimes with two or all three, but she was almost never alone. Occasionally Evelyn, Mike, or June would visit too. She quite enjoyed her visits with Gordon and Thora, as they were both optimistic but weren't afraid to admit that it was likely she wold die (mind you, they quickly added that they would storm the gates of Helheim itself to get her soul back). Sometimes she would get visits from Logan during the school day purely out of his own boredom, as he didn't know her well enough to truly care to spend her possibly final days with her, he was just bored and she was convenient. They compared notes on their home realms usually, though sometimes he would tell a story. Tony also took advantage of her being there and would come bounce ideas off her. Bruce would say tiredly that he pulled Hope out of school so she could rest, but there was always a small smile on his face so Tony didn't feel the need to change his ways. Tony was actually spoiling Hope, Eli and Penny much more than usual. The worst part for Hope was that her eyesight was going up and down, meaning it would get really bad to where she saw only a haze of colors, and then it would clear up for a while until it got hazy again. It frustrated Hope more than anything.
Raven wasn't even bothering to hide the fact that most nights she was leaving for missions. Abandoning secrecy also meant that the extreme caution she had been using was also out the window, so she was on her normal standards, which meant she fought more often, which meant she got more wounds. She would just shake her head and patch herself up, often being seen with gauze around her arm, leg or thigh. The rest of her time she spent with Hope, or with Conrad. She gave up doing her homework and as such her grades were slipping dramatically. When an adult tried to bring any of this up, she told them they weren't her legal guardians and had no authority over her and promptly left. When if was another YA, she would say the same, except if she was really angry she might add in a few choice words.
Mike was stressed. That was all there was to it. He was constantly having to take the leadership position. Hope was dying, which made Jay and Eli basically useless, as if they were dying right along with her, Gordon and Thora could be handy sometimes but were ultimately too emotional to be the one that was strong for everyone else, Raven was completely reckless and irresponsible and answering to absolutely no one except maybe Hope but she had given up trying to make Raven fall in line, his best friend was completely falling apart at the seems, and the adults were ultimately not very helpful, even though they were the adults. Well, he wasn't being entirely fair to them. Dr. Banner was completely absorbed in finding ope a cure which was a just and noble cause, and Mr. and Mrs. Barton had their trial soon (either today or the next day) so hopefully they were only temporarily unhelpful, but everyone else was absolutely useless. The only person he felt he could rely on was Evelyn, and he relied on her heavily. He helped Conrad when he could, but that was very difficult and he could only do so much.
Conrad, well, he was a mess. This whole 'its just a phase' thing? Yeah, that wasn't working out for him. He wasn't eating much, but it was more he simply had no appetite, not that he had an eating disorder. He wasn't cutting either, because like eating disorders that was totally a girl thing. (OOC: I know its not but that's what he thinks.) He was mostly just moody and depressed. The world was falling apart around him. His friends were dying, both of his parents had abandoned him, he could clearly see Raven and Michael destroying themselves, Raven from the outside in and Michael from the inside out, and with all of it he felt absolutely powerless to do anything about it. Nothing could make him happy any more, not even his wings. He was beginning to recognize his own destruction, but again he felt completely powerless to do anything about it and he also had no motivation, he was completely caught up into the futility of his situation and everyone else's.
