The Year of Disney Trips: ***Update!!!! 8/20/08****

This is how not to sit with whatever that thing is:

It wasn’t as bad as the show because they didn’t have to eat weird stuff. If the show were like that I would so do it, but the whole eating of bugs is just gross.

That's my hang-up with Survivor. I could kick soem serious psychological butt on Survivor, but don't ask me to eat gross stuff.

We survived 6 parks in 4 days, but were totally exhausted from it.

OMG, I somehow totalyl missed that you'd done all this in FOUR days!

Up next a quick trip for the MNSSHP & F&W festival.

It was a really nice cruise, it's always fun to get away. The great thing about my job is I work 3 days at night (Fri-Sun) and have Mon-Friday morning off and the cruise was a Mon-Fri cruise so I didn't have to take any time off from work. It went to Key West and Cozumel, which I've been to; but it was a free cruise so who am I to say no.

Free??? Did I see free???? Why not indeed!!! We would have sent the little guys in white coats if you had turned it down!!!!


6 parks in 4 days......you deserved to be exhausted!!!

I do like the other place. I so wish I was in driving distance of WDW, I'm jealous!

Sometimes it's not good having Disney close because then you're tempted to go a lot, but it sure is convenient when you do want to go. KWIM

Mini Pre TR:

This trip came about because after our August trip I really wanted to go to Disney for it’s MNSSHP. I asked my friend Yani to go with me, but she had to wait to get her Schedule from school to make sure she could actually go when she wasn’t busy with classes or tests. Our friend Isis was out because she was gonna go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal and couldn’t do another Disney ($$). I have another friend who loves Halloween and she would’ve gone, but she wasn’t sure so I wasn’t even going to ask her.

So as soon as Yani found a spot in her school schedule that we could actually go during the week she would tell me.

Unfortunately that didn’t come until about a week before we actually went. I didn’t really want to push her because I know how important school is to her and I honestly thought we were going to miss it.

So a week out I call up Disney and book our room and order our tickets and we were ready to go!

We decided to make it a cheap and quick 2 day trip and we were happy to be heading back to our Happy place and being there at a time neither of us had ever been.

Destination: Disney…. again (that’s for you Jo)LY/MI

Star Date: Monday Oct. 15, 2007

The night before the trip Yani & I ran around Miami malls like mad women looking for Halloween costumes because that weekend at work we decided it would be fun to dress up for MNSSHP. Also that weekend at work we decided to add going to the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot since it would be going on at the same time.

Yani found a costume, but I didn’t. I did get some really cute shirts at the Disney store though, so it wasn't all bad.

We picked up the rental car and dropped Yani off. Whilst driving home I get a phone call from Yani.

Y: “Lili!!!”
Me: “Hi Yani!”
Y: “Can James come with us?”
Me: “I thought you had asked him and he said no?” (she had asked him and he had said no)
Y: “I know, but he saw me packing and he wants to go.”
Me: (realizing Yani can't see me roll my eyes)
“Ok, sure. Whatever. Isn’t he gonna be bored though? He doesn’t like Disney.”
Y: “I don’t know he just wants to go. He said he wants to go to one of the Water Parks.”
Me: “Alright. Remember we have to leave super early tomorrow.”
Y: “I know. Ok. Bye!”

So as with our last trip to Disney Yani’s BF James has decided to tag along with us crazy Disney girls.


Star Date: Tuesday Oct. 16th
Approx: 5 a.m.

The next morning I leave the house and drive to pick up Yani and James and we’re on the road by 5:30 a.m. So far we’re making excellent time. Once we’re out of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and missing the morning week traffic we stop at a rest stop and have some Burger King breakfast, then back on the road again.

We drive through the Disney gates around 8:30 am and our promptly following the loverly Purple and Magenta signs to:

We decided to do it up cheap this time, so Value it was especially with my AP discount on the room. Plus I wanted to stay at ASMo and it was a really cute resort:

We check in and drive over to the room and not breaking Disney tradition, I proceed to get lost in the parking lot of ASMo trying to locate our room.

We did find it, we were in the Mighty Ducks Section and dragged our crap up to the room to settle in. Yani and James went to the gift shop because I had made an executive decision as we checked in and we were adding something to our short mini trip; so, while they were gone I snapped pics of the room:

I was so happy and the room was so cute and then I sat on the bed.

Thanks Rosie; yes it's convenient to have that AP when you live close to the mouse. But then you always want to go and get the most out of your AP and sometimes that can get pricey.

Everyone decided they wanted to eat again and I got kinda mad because we had just eaten and we had the DDP credits that we would be using very soon because we were almost done with the park. I reminded everyone of this, but apparently they were too hungry to wait and bought more food. Whatevah! (sorry had to steal that DM). I was a little mad and I think they kinda got annoyed with me for whining about using the CS credits we had left.

I told Yani I was too tired to drive home and she was too, so James ended up driving. We ate our food, it was ok, it wasn’t very warm so I was a little disappointed. Yani & James didn’t eat because they were full (naw really)! I ended up falling asleep and woke up 3 hrs later when we got home.

I can't believe you did a whole day at US/IOA and then drove home

We survived 6 parks in 4 days, but were totally exhausted from it. It was fun being with my friends and sharing Disney with them and not having any drama or breakdowns or anything. We had tons of new memories and good times and wanted to go back almost as soon as we got home. Yani's BF never saw the Disney magic and was lured by the dark side of US/IoA, but that's ok at least he got to experience the parks and I understand that Disney isn't always for everyone.

Dude!! I sooooo miss the ET ride here!!

It’s so cute and the theming of the ride is done really well, although they need to refurb some of the animitronic models.

Isn't it though? At the end, does ET still say... Goo-d byyee ZoorreeeLeeee!?! That was the best part!

When we last left off our Foursome was headed on over to Universal Studios.

Gosh. It's been such a long time since we were in Universal Studios. Last time I think was in 1998 and we never made over to IoA. My dad told me that instead of Disney next time that we should all do US/IoA. What the flip? I told him we are finally getting to the point where Brookie is big enough for almost all the rides at Disney. Why would we want to do that now? Nope. Not gonna do it until everyone is tall enough to do all the coasters!!!!

And funny story about ET. Even though I had gone on it in California's US I never realized why you had to give names so my uncle and I gave them fake names. I was Thelma and he was "Luis". We had a party of 10 and we got split up and at the end when ET says your name I realized it wasn't that funny with just a "Thelma" and no "Luis". DOH!

I miss King Kong.
