I hung up the phone and started laughing hysterically.

You know that laugh, that this isn’t funny and you really feel like crying, but you laugh almost maniacally because it’s so unbelievable what is happening and it almost sounds sarcastic? Well that’s what happened to me. I knew that little feeling I was having earlier wasn’t a good one. So I tell my friends what happened and they really don’t know what to say. I start looking through my organizer and Disney folder to see if I can find another number. I know in her emails to me there was a work number and I told my friend Isis this. So she called her father and he signed onto the Internet and I walked him through my saved emails and we located the email with her work numbers and I wrote down two more numbers.
I thanked him and proceeded to call the numbers. The first was supposed to be a cell phone and that didn’t work either.

Then I dialed the work number, I mean it was a Monday and I could probably locate her. I finally got through to the operator and asked to speak to the DVC owner at her extension and got transferred. Someone picked up and I asked to speak to the DVC owner and she says, “She no longer works here.”
WHAT?!?!?!?
Ohmygod Ohmygod Ohmygod!!! What am I gonna do?!?!
The conversation went as follows:
Me: “How long has she not been working there?”
Phone Lady (PL): “About a month.”
Me: “Listen I had a business transaction with her and there’s been a problem and I need to speak to her urgently, do you happen to have a number where I could reach her because the three I have for her are not working.”
PL: “I’m sorry no.”
Me: “Please it is an emergency and I NEED to speak to her. We had a business transaction and I’ve paid her money, but there’s been a problem and I NEED to speak to her.”
PL: “We’re not allowed to give out that information. I’m sorry.”
Me:
probably sounding hysterical “PLEASE! I’m not going to tell anyone, I just want to get the problem resolved and I paid her money and now I can’t get in contact with her and there’s been a problem with our transaction.”
PL: “Hold on.”
About a minute later some other lady comes on the phone and I re-explain the situation to her. She tells me she’s unable to give out that information, which I knew, but I had to try. So I tell her if there’s a way she or someone who knows her could call her and have her contact me and I give her my name and the reason for the call and my cell number and my 2 friends’ cell numbers and thanked them and hung up. I felt completely defeated and didn’t know what to do.
We talked about what to do and I asked Isis to call her father back to see if MAYBE we could contact her through email for her to call. So we called him and he sent an email to her from me. We waited for a while talking on our options.
Option #1: We wait for who knows how long for her to call us and then check in.
Option #2: We just check in and decide not to get the
DDP. The reservation was there, which was a good thing; it’s just the DDP request that wasn’t. Did some quick math concerning our ADR places, which most of them were pre-priced ones so it would be about the same as if we did buy the DDP and go to Wal-Mart or some grocery store in the city and get other food stuff like breakfast and sandwiches, etc.
We weighed the options and after a few minutes of waiting more we decide to go with Option #2. I was tired and frustrated and just wanted to get over this and get on with the vacation. So we go back in to the check in and go to miss airy CM and tell her we’re just gonna check in. Try once more to see if they’d let us add the DDP. Then snootily say, “That’s a shame, that’s about $600 Disney is losing out on.”

That didn’t work and she just airily smiled and said, “Yeah that is a shame.” So we gave her fake smiles back. We finished checking in and headed to the room.
After settling in a little we head into the city to find the Wal-Mart and I knew where a grocery store was from going in June and we decide to hit up some of the outlet stores nearby.
We did some shopping, my friend Yani bought a bathing suit and I went to find a crown for Pirates and Princesses and we checked out the Disney outlet store, which had tons of stuff for kids, but not much for adults. As we’re driving towards Wal-Mart my phone rings and it’s the DVC lady!
