Oh yeah... wasn't too fond of that movie so I forgot how it ended.

Honeslty Jodie, I wouldn't even dream of getting a plan like that in place. To me that is totally unnecessary to do and only brings fear into our lives. I am not going to let that get me down. I have thoughts about what we are doing anyway as a country right now that I usually keep to myself but I see no point in going crazy over this. I wouldn't do anything differently than you would normally do. I guess I just won't let them bring me down to that. Not worth the stress.

Keep praciting Nancy... always helps :)

Hee hee....a little "comic relief"....I am reading the article on making a disaster kit for your family....guess what is one of the first things on the list??? DUCT TAPE!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Sorry...that tickled my funnybone!! Ya gotta laugh right??? Carry on.....

Lame ketchup I know...have to work on that...

Yeah, I was wondering about that, Jeannie. You didn't stick one slam on me in there! ;)

Michele,
Well - I thought he was cute enough to eat also - but I didn't say that as I didn't want the DISers to think I was a baby carnivore or anything! (Did you ever go up to a baby and nibble on their toes and say, "I'm gonna eat you up..... mmmmmmmmmm"? I did that when DS was a baby and my 2/5 yr. old DD started to cry, "Don't eat my baby brother!")

Jodie,
When DS did his Emergency Preparedness merit badge, he had to make one of those kits up - well, one time he and I were alone at the house at night and we lost the power - he went and got the pack, with the flashlight, emergency candles, etc. It really made it nice that he had everything handy - but we didn't eat the food rations.;)

Nancy,
Very cute kitties!!:D

Pam

Jodie,
The Scouts call "duct tape" their #1 necessity! They swear you can do anything with duct tape - including using it as a first aid tool.

Pam

Jodie could you link me to the site that you are looking at?? Our television station said they would have a kit type thing up but all they tell you to do is to call for a brochure from the red cross.

Actually Karen, you made me think that a kit like that might be good for a natural disaster (tornado, major storms) You know something like that. I might be interested to see a link to it just for that reason :)

Well...ahem...even before the "duct tape patrol" I was a firm believer in the power of duct tape....it is my #1 tool around the house. Guess it makes sense that it should be in an emergency pack too huh?
Karen.... whitehouse.gov (COOL site by the way!) has more info than you probably want. If you freak at the thought of this stuff....don't go there!

If ya'll want me to stop talking about this stuff just say so...but they have suggestions of things to prepare against a "cyber attack"...things I hadn't considered as far as the scope of such a thing and what would be affected. Not bad stuff just to be familiar with ya'll....as much as we all want to think this won't happen. Guess it's the "be prepared" Girl Scout part of me that feels more in control and less fearful if I have more knowledge.

No no, you are fine Jodie... talk all you like :) I do think it is wise to be prepared. I just have odd views about the warning and all that. Some become more alert with the warnings that go out and I choose to ingore them because it won't do me any good to worry about it. I hope that kind of makes sense :) But being prepared for a natural disaster and a few things like that are worth it to me :)

It's the weekend, thought I'd give you a rest.:)

Am waiting with bated breath for GP's dorkumentary.:teeth:

I'm going to go check the MSNBC site about preparedness...don't want to seem paranoid but better safe than sorry...:(

Jeannie,
I believe that the Preparedness Website suggested stockpiling lots of RICE and BARLEY!!

But it should be new and never been stuffed up nostrils.

(I did not promise to behave over the weekend, sorry!)

Dorian Gray is the character name? Pic please!:)

Haven't had a chance to ketchup, but have a thing or two to pass along.

Denise, I am so sorry to hear about what's going on. :(

All this talk of me being a sensitive kind of guy.... Um... well, see.... Are you *sure* it was me? I mean, really, it could have been my evil twin. In this case, my evil twin is nice. :p

Okay... I'm off... time to watch the Wings/Avs game on ABC. Hmmm... I think I'll cheer for a tie. ;)

I'll try to ketchup later.

Quick ketchup and then gotta go wash this hair dye out of my hair. Us natural blondes are very busy you know.

Thanks for the info Jodie. I am going to print it out. Althought, I can honestly say that if we have all survived Pam's cooking we should be fine. Our immune systems must be in super high gear to get us through that!

I noticed canned meat on the list.....SPAM! Then we will have something with us to throw at our DH's if they get out of line.

Jeannie, lovely looking stew.......uh, here Pam, why don't you take it? She made it expressly for you.:p

Way to go Bonnie! Treadmill and WDW all alone for a couple days.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Elaine, sorry about the lousy shopping experience.

Treadmill is up and working. I went walking for 15 minutes to try it out! OK, who else besides me has a hubby that is impatient putting things together? "Why the hell don't they have parts reference page for the size of screws?" "Dear, is this the page you wanted?" "How the hell am I supposed to get this on? It'll never work!" "Dear, it says here to take the back off the panel before attaching the front of the panel". Needless to say the "45 minute assembly" was a pleasant 2 hours spent together.

Well, ta ta for now.

Pssst....Marilyn....the trick is (as I said earlier) put the tools they need for assembly in their right hand, a beer in their left hand , bat your eyes and say "pretty please"....then leave the room!!! Come back in 2 hours and whatever it was is allll assembled...you were spared the *#*&* language and all is right with the world!!!
Geez...and you call yourself an elder Ya Ya??? ;)
