Morning! Turkey is in refrigerator thawing since Sunday. I put it in the bag...we stuff ours as well as make dressing outside the bird if we have more folks coming. This year is small so even if it is bad for you...we stuff our ole bird.

I was so excited yesterday to see this big ole' box "for me". I got my stocking exchange YIPPEE! And it was from Nancy!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Wish I could post a pic because it was so jam packed I know I will forget something but, here goes. Stocking was very cute with little mouse sticking head out of pocket, there were chocolates (NOTE: were, very yummy!), a big ole candy cane, christmas notepads, stuffed santa, tigger mug w/hot chocolate,cider mixes, stocking votive w/candles, Mr. & Mrs Santa ornaments, mickey cards, christmas soap, christmas night light, AND ta dah my very own DIS flrose pin! I know I have left something out but, it was all wonderful! I just couldn't quit staring at all the wonderful things! I just can't thank Nancy enough for making my day!

I'm hoping to get mine out tomorrow but, by Fri. for sure.

Gotta work! Happy day all!

Its a cold one here in NE Ohio! Brr!

Junior is doing better. Still has to sleep sitting up, so he's not sleeping well at all, but the pain isn't near as bad as it was.

Welcome back, Tara. Can't wait to see pics.

I do the turkey every year. This year I am baking a 23 pound one. I just pat it with butter, sprinkle on some garlic salt or garlic powder, and cover with foil. I baste every couple hours. I take off the foil for the last 30-45 minutes to brown. That's it. Very simple. I stuff it with Stove Top! LOL No time to make my own stuffing.

Time to wake up the last 2 boys to get ready for school!

Today is the big...'go pick out a new washing machine day'
Going to Lowe's first(they're open already) then Sears and maybe hhgregg and then possibly back to Lowe's depending on the options(the other stores open at 10.. next week everyone will probaly be open at 9)
AND I have to have Cassie(my helper) to school by 11:30...

So many months same as cash options
Delivery
How long to deliver
so many decisions...

Hope they have my color too...

Sorry boo I would have loved to kick it but oldest ds and his friend had taken over the computer. We really need 2. My package is all ready to hit the post office, just need to wait til ds gets out of bed so he can watch the little ones while I go. I bought some Christmas stuff for ds #2 yesterday. I actually have several things for the boys.

Ok - I had 3 pages to kethup on.... and now my brain has turned to mush...... (Hush, Elaine, Jeannie & Tood - I know what you all are thinking!! )

I do NOT leave the fur in my Roadkill Stew.... ewww.. I take my razor and shave the little critter first! Funny store - my DS shot a turkey a couple of weeks ago, he skinned and cleaned it and wanted me to cook it - well.... there were feathers stuck all over that baby - took me 45 minutes to sit there with a nekkid turkey clutched to my chest, plucking all those errant little feathers - thought I got them all, put the bird in the pan and threw it in the oven...... went to carve it a couple of hours later - and found a couple little feathers still stuck on the darn thing! I discretely pulled them and shoved them in my pocket!!

Tina and Beth - boo hiss that your men are working on your B-day! Go shopping instead!!

Tara - sounds like you had a wonderful vacation..... in bed!!

Guess what sweet Nancy sent me?? My very own Roadkill air freshener - DOA Armadillo!! I LOVE it!! You should have heard my shrieks of laughter at the office when I opened up the envelope!! NOw the office gang think I'm a little weird, too..... Bwaaahaaaaa.......... Thank you, thank you, Nancy!!

YAY!! Rose Mary got her stocking!! It was so fun to put together....and I was so glad I found an extra large stocking!!

Pam...got her freshener. I about had an attack at the store when I saw those.....and in a variety of "flavors" too
Pam...that story skeered me!!

My kids always only got TH and FR off for TG too.
DD gets the whole week now...but that's college....and it is out in the boonies, so they need travel time
And...chains are required at the moment . I hope in the few hours before she hits the mountains, it improves a lot!!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.......... is shining, it's clear and crisp--great day!!! Boss has gone "home" to Michigan for the holiday and I get to play till Monday!!!!!

Tara!!! That was an awesome ketchup, girl!!! Sorry you had troubles on your trip and forgot J's ticket. Extra expenses are never helpful. Hope all goes well with your big announcement at bowling. Nancy brined her turkey once?! What the heck does that mean? Like pickle brine? Like corned beef brine? I'm a "stuff it, throw it in the oven and ignore it for several hours" kind of cook, myself.
Am keeping the prayer line open for safe travel for your DD. I'm a worry-wart of a mom, too, and can't rest till I know they're safe.

Laine, good to hear you are being productive at work! Don't OVERwork yourself, now. Remember, all work and no play make Lainey a VERY cranky disser!!! Not much longer and you'll be headed for the House of Mouse, too!!

Rose Mary, your stocking sounds soooooo great!! Gotta love it when Nancy gets your name in an exchange--she knows how to do it right!!!! All your goodies sound great! So how is your DH--he all back to work and feeling pretty good after his surgery? How much longer before your family will be reunited for good?

Sherry, we're cold here, today, too! But, it feels more like it should for the end of November. This 70-80º stuff just wasn't right!! Good to hear your DH is mending well. I can certainly sympathize with the sleeping arrangement--bronchitis has me sleeping that way whenever I come down with it. Still up on 2 fat pillows from this last cold I had! But, so glad his pain is easing up. Hope this continues and he is back to normal very, very soon.

And our Todd is shopping for a new washer, huh? I recommend Lowe's, for sure! And as far as color, avoid the Avocado and the Harvest Gold--they are sooooo 70s!! Go with black or silver!!

OMG,Pam!!!! DOA Armadillo??!!!!! That is toooooo funny!!!! And I'm so glad you were able to get all the feathers out of that turkey before they tickled somebody's throat! Whew!! I can't imagine!

Howdy-ho, Sherry and Beth!! Sherry, glad to hear Junior is feeling better! How are you holding up?

Todd - I just had the repairman out last night for my washer and dryer - motor went bad in the dryer and the washer need a new valve - $170.00 total for both, including tax and labor.......


Rose Mary - No Survivor for me - I had the wimpiest, whinest, laziest, comfort-lovin' person ever! I am a real"couch potato!!
I don't clean what my guys get, they have to do that - and I usually don't cook their harvest, they have to do it - the only exception is turkey and some of the deer meat...... My guys also make their own deer jerky and DH does all the gardening and canning!! I am very spoiled!!

I love Cracker Barrel!!

Went to Lowe's then to Sears and nobody at Sears seemed interested in my business.. ...So i drove back to Lowe's and jumped ship to a white washer....and now the final decision...

$70 more with a ton of extra things....

Pam--My washer had been leaking oil for the past year...It was time for a replacement..
