Hi honies, I'm home!! Had a wonderful, wonderful time at WDW, but am beginning to feel my age. I'm sure the fact that I am so out of shape physically doesn't help matters any

Gotta get back to exercising!! Laine and I had a beautiful room at Riverside and the weather was gorgeous for us the entire weekend! I went standby and was able to get on an earlier flight, so we were able to meet up at the airport and drive to the resort together. We had the brightest yellow Dodge Neon you could ever imagine--called 'er the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, but she had some speed in her and we made good time. Luckily the room was ready when we got there, so we dumped our stuff and took off for MK! Can't believe we managed to get almost the entire park in before we headed over to Epcot around sunset to make sure we could catch Illuminations. Ahhhh, what a GREAT show that is!!!
We spent the day, Saturday, with Karen and her family at MK where we FINALLY got her on Splash Mountain! Karen beat us all on the Buzz Lightyear ride, scoring the max of 999,999 points!!!! The ride stopped for a few minutes just under one of the targets that scores 100,000 and she managed to shoot it over and over until she couldn't rack up any more points!!! Took a break in the afternoon and went out to the Marketplace for a little retail therapy, as any Ya Ya worth her salt would do!! Then enjoyed the boat ride back to the resort. Got to take pictures of my new 2nd home, Saratoga Springs, as we floated by. The colors they are using on the buildings are GREAT and I really like the architectural style. Sure hope I can get some more time off in October so we can stay there and go to
MNSSHP!!
Met up with Karen & Co. again yesterday morning at Epcot where I managed to crash our spaceship at Mission Space (I was the pilot

), enjoyed the new Nemo display at The Living Seas and had lunch at the food court over at The Land. Sadly, then they had to go home

(You know how it is with kids and homework that has to get done on Sunday nite!!) But Elaine and I spent the rest of the day at Epcot snapping picture after picture of all the beautiful floral displays they had out for the Flower and Garden Festival. Our afternoon break was over a little hot fudge therapy at Beaches and Cream, then Elaine got me out in a Water Mouse!!! Ummm.....we were only a *little* over the maximum weight limit and we sat pretty low in the water

Then Laine's doing donuts on the edge of the boat on MY side and I thought I was going to find out if those oh-so-uncomfortable life vests really DO work! But, seriously, that really WAS fun and now I am kind of itching to do it again on my own. Never got to drive a boat of any kind before and it's a really fun way to get off your feet for awhile!!
Since Lainey bought into DVC virtually sight unseen, we strolled over to the DVC office on Boardwalk to see the models and eliminate any worries that although she knew that the studio I shared with her at OKW was huge, the rooms at the other resorts are not SMALL by any means! I was interested in seeing the Saratoga model, myself! Excellent decor, as expected! We strolled around World Showcase some more, waiting to hear from Suzanne who was due in late that afternoon. Caught the boat ride at Mexico and Spaceship Earth, then decided we better get something light to eat at the Electric Umbrella. Suzanne and her DH and their 2 boys arrived and we managed to find a good viewing area near Germany for Illuminations. This time, I tried taking pix and can't wait to see how they come out full-sized, but I was really excited to find that I could catch the fireworks with my new little camera! We rode Maelstrom and both boys were thrilled to be able to find the hidden Mickey in the picture of the Viking ship! Laine and I really wanted to stay longer and take advantage of the new extra hours Epcot was open last night, but we knew we had to be up and going at 5 this morning, so after one last ride on El Tiempo whatever-it-is (I can never remember the whole name!) we headed back to pack up our stuff for leaving today. Sniffle-sniffle......neither of us wanted to leave and are now counting the days till we head for DL in July!!
We were on our way before 6 this morning and made our painful re-entry into the real world. I got home with no trouble and was surprised to discover the weather here is just like what I just left in Florida! High humidity and it's 87º!! I crashed for a couple of hours and am now doing laundry. Off to ketchup, now, on what ya'll have been doing while I was out playing.
