morning, yaya's and bothers.

It's been a rollercoaster ride since yesterday. On my way into work, I called mom regarding my plans for the coming week. The past few times, I got my stepdad, and I figured she'd want to her it directly from me.

Unfortunately, mom had bad news. One of my older brothers was visiting friends in S Florida and collapsed Thursday. He had two inoperable anerysms (he'd had two before) and was in a coma and not expected to make it. He passed yesterday at 12:35pm. While my brother and I weren't close as adults, it still hits kinda hard.

I'm glad I had the trip planned and will be around for support. Mom is well loved and is the 'sunshine lady' of her neighborhood, so everyone there is coming to support her. She doesn't want to do the interrment yet. He'll be cremated and then interred with other vets at a cemetery in Florida next month. The cemetery overlooks the bay by my mom's house.

Gosh, this is harder to write than I thought. I'm okay, just kinda numb right now about the whole thing. I had been thinking about him for the past week and had a really vivid memory pop into my head Thursday from when I was about 4 or 5 years old. I think it was him telling me to remember the fun times. Same thing happened when my Nana passed.

The kids never met my brother, but they're being great and happily accepting of all the extra kisses and hugs I'm giving right now. Gotta dole them out, cuz my mom is gonna do the same to me, I'm sure!

Due to the trip stuff, I probably won't be on again until Monday night, so I'll try to do as much ketchup as I can now. Once down there, I'll be running around a lot during the day, but should be able to check in briefly at night. I think mom has some plans for me now that I'll be with her for three nights.

Bethie, I'm at the store until 5:30 tomorrow, and then off to the airport. After you get your mickey money, you can give me your shopping list for WDW, lol! Never done shots, just all the stupid inhalers and pills. Probably should investigate those.

Todd, never understood the whispering, either. I never really cared for golf, either, must be because I would never be a good player. Give me a hockey stick!

Lainey, just get Luis to enjoy his b'day at WDW! I need to head to Target later for belts for my interview outfits. One snapped in my luggage(?) the last trip. Hopefully, I can find a convertable one that isn't too dark brown to go with my new taupe pantsuit.

Deena, I didn't know Stryper was still around. They played my college (yikes, it has been THAT long, I am old) and those of us who rigged the lights were asked if we wanted to be their roadies permanently! Nice guys.

Liz, awesome trip report. You should submit it to mouseplanet...some of theirs are boring, but yours is quite entertaining reading! Barkley enjoying that new bed of his?

Kim, I think the reason why I didn't balk at parting with that much hair (three times in my life now) is that I do not own a blowdryer. My hair is so fine and dry that it splits if I give it the heat. Each time I've had a new hairstylist they are shocked at how fine my hair is, there's just so much of it.

Nancy, a scrapbooking basement? Sounds like she needs to open her own shop if she needs a whole basement for scrapping!

Not a whole basement for scrapping Just a corner section that is separated off from the rest so I can close it off.
I haven't scrapped in years and they reason is NO WHERE to do it! Kitties just help way too much!!

DH finally got home! I didn't think he was going to make it.
His flght was delayed twice!
He finally dragged into the house at 4 am! So I think our plans for today are not happening

Sigh... oh well.

Hi Miss Beth! How are you? Were you able to get your shots yesterday? Urgh... hate it when something throws a wrench into my schedule like that. DS is doing very well, thanks! It's difficult to keep the workload "doable" and keeping him on a schedule is next to impossible, but we're hanging in there. Thank God Easter (oh excuse me, SPRING ) break is almost here!

Karen had a good day yesterday! Yay! Very good news Karen! Hope your weekend is also a good one!

LOL... I think I'm stuck with long hair now, Elaine. At least for awhile. Somewhere along the line, it reached a point of no return. To cut it now would probably send me into shock. As long as I eventually get the old perm cut off, I'll be happy.

A wandering palm tree, Liz? I haven't seen that one! Seen the vine lady thingy, but not the palm tree. Love that stuff! I wanna go baaaaack!

How was the cropping, Kristy? I'm almost finished with my first album (a WDW trip)... then it's onto last year's trip pics. Yay! A change of scenery... I don't think I could do another Mickey book right now.

Elaine framed her pirate! Where is he going to live? They look so much nicer when they're framed don't they? Coming into my office in the morning now is such a.... ah.... lovely experience... breathtaking you might even say!

Oops... Nancy and RoseMary sneaked on me!

Nancy, having a designated scrapping area was the only way for me too. If I have to put things away each time, I never get anything done. I finally bought a 6 foot table, a set of drawers, a tote thingy on wheels and various file boxes and turned half of this room into a scrapping area. Tired hubby? Poor guy. Delayed flights are frustrating and exhausting.

Problem is if the kitties hear me in a closed room they scratch the carpet trying to open the door Bad kitties!

Ah... Nora Roberts! Good stuff! Fun weekend reading! I just finished "The Hobbit" and started Fellowship... took me two hours just to get through the Prologue and Forward! LOL! Fun stuff though!

Third Day puts on a great show, Sherry... if you ever get the chance to see them, go for it! Have you seen their concert DVDs? They're perfect on those days I'm needing a TD fix.

Sherry's plans do sound nice don't they RoseMary! Kind've like mine actually... although I'm rolling around the idea of doing a little retail therapy... got a Macy's gift card burning a hole in my wallet...
