Chapter 17 - The one I don't want to have to write.

So as you already know, I was in the hospital last week.

I was doing pretty good all things considered.

Not so much now.

I have an infection and I have to go back to the doctor tonight and they are going to see if the antibiotics are working or if I have to go back to the hospital.

I don't do hospitals very well so I am really hoping that I don't have to go.

And I only have 8 days left until my trip.

I can't get worse now.

I don't have time.

and I'm a little scared.

I am in a not-so-serious but similar boat. I am plagued with urinary tract infections. I have done everything you can possibly think of to avoid them, but they still bother me!! I am scared of getting another one while we're in WDW. I will cry my eyes out if I do. I need some cranberry pixie dust, please!

well that was supposed to be a star, but I just realized now matter how much you space out those little guys, they bunch up anyway! ah..no matter...it's still magic!!

UTIs are no fun at all. Have you tried cranberry capsules? You can get them at a health food store and they are a big help for a lot of people. Here's to hoping we can both get through our holidays! Oh heck, we'll be at Disneyworld - we'll make it!

I'm just impressed by how CLEAN those dancers are! Everyone of them is doing the exact same movement. How well trained they are!

Chapter 16 - Anyone know how to avoid the "Poof Palace"?

So heres the thing - I don't like flying.

Well not completely true.

I don't mind flying, its the crashing and dying that I don't like.

Back in July I went to Dallas to visit a friend and do some pre-trip shopping. I got brave and flew there by myself. Well how the heck else would I get there from Canada? But I digress.....

On the way back I guess I looked somewhat suspicious to the security team or maybe they had nothing else to do at 430am and I was the only person around so they put my in the "poof palace".

For those of you unfamiliar with the "poof palace" it is actually an explosives screening. They put you in a clear plexiglass box and shoot a blast of air at you and then the sample of air is analyzed for explosives.

Not a big deal for most people.

It was for me.

I tried really hard not to freak for 2 reasons.

First, it feeds my paranoia of plane crashes and second, I don't like tight spaces.

I may have done okay except they put me in and told me not to leave until the doors opened. Okay, I can do this.

So I go in and the doors close.

Puff of air all over including up the skirt!

And then I wait.

And the doors don't open.

Then the security people walk away.

And leave me in the box.

I guess I looked over at them with the panicking eyes and they came over to talk me through the last 20 seconds or so but it wasn't pretty.

And I don't want to do it again.

So now I am nervous that I am going to have to get into the "poof palace" again. And of course because I am nervous it is going to make me look suspicious to the security people again which means another trip into the "palace".

Any ideas on how to avoid it?

Hmmm, I would say that given the description of how it went down I would avoid wearing skirts while flying …they may have been looking for a Marilyn Monroe moment Honestly though your best bet with stuff like that is to be in a conversation with someone – preferably looking like you’re having a good time. I would think they’d be less likely to go after someone actively engaged with another traveler.

Lovely shots, especially the framing and shadowing on the second – and the sepia tone works very well And I just convinced DW to let me buy a new lens – a Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro. It isn’t the best thing out there …not a “pro” glass, but it got good reviews and the price is right And yesterday my new camera backpack came in yesterday – yay!

You're a nice wife letting him look! Mine gets what I pack. Although with good reason. One trip we went on he packed his own stuff and forgot undies and pants! He did have shorts but that was it! HAhahaha!!! Now I get to do it all. I still haven't figured out if that's a good thing or not!

Oh no!!!! I’m hearing about more and more people getting post-op infections …we had a programmer who is out with one after knee surgery But they just put him on a course of some different antibiotics and he was right as rain.

I did forget to mention...last November on our honeymoon in Hawaii, both me AND DH forgot our swimsuits! We had a list! (well..I had a list) but I guess in the excitement of everything going on with the wedding, I didn't double check! We both brought home some souvenirs from Hawaii...swimsuits! (suprisingly mine was only $40 for 3 piece--bikini w/skirt, and his was $15)
