The words siggie and ressie...

I also dislike "puter", "rents" and "kewl"!

I abhor poor grammar and these cutesy conjunctions of words that are easily typed on a QWERTY keyboard.

What really gets me is many of the people who type these words are often educated adults. There are a number of teachers on the Disboards who are atrocious spellers and one teacher I personally know spells kindergarten as kindergarden. Don't you think one should know how to spell the name of the grade one is teaching??

What is with using "are" as a possessive pronoun (e.g. "Are car died.")

It ranks up there with the improper use of the apostrophe and your instead of you're.

Thank you to the OP for starting this thread. My blood pressure goes up each time otherwise educated adults prove their absolute ignorance of the language they have lived with their entire lives.

One more I hate and then its off to bed:

WooT

*** is Woot, will someone tell me. Geez I see that online and I want to punch my fist through the screen. :rotfl:

Every other message board I've been on calls them "sig pics" -- not siggies. Siggies, ressies, etc. make me want to gag.

I'll agree with most of the other words here as well.

I've sometimes wondered if the frequent users of DD, DH etc. use these terms offline?

As for *woot*, I've only heard that term used by the Food Network personality (cannot call her a cook because she cannot cook), Sandra Lee--you know the one who color coordinates her food, kitchen decor, clothes, and table decorations--when something unexpected happens while she is preparing food.:rotfl2:

Another word/expression I see on these boards that gives me the feeling of nails on a chalk board: Woohoo.

Who the heck actually says that in real life?

Well I use them both all the time as I can't spell.

I'm so bad SpellCheck here on the DIS doesn't even pick up the correct spelling.

I think thats why I like Text messaging so much

This is the one that makes my skin crawl: sposies as in disposable diapers. Please, just call it a Pamper, Huggie, whatever and let's call it a day.

OMG, pooh sized....I think it's so creepy. :headache:

And sal sal for salad? If I ever heard that here, I think I'd report it. :lmao:

I had a friend that used whohoo all the time.

We use wawa to irratate my dh.:lmao:

Whooohooo! I just finished making my ressies for our upcoming vacay. You can see when we're going in my siggy. We're not preggers so woot, woot, my DH, DSis and DBIL are going have a dibby dab of fun.

:rotfl:

The mouse is hovering over the ignore button! :rotfl2:

I don't use them offline, but I choose to use them online because I'm not comfortable naming names. :confused3 I suppose I could come up with something witty in its place, but I'll stick with what I know works. :3dglasses

you need to post more often.:lmao:

I can't stand pooh-sized. Hello, I'm fat, I'm not a cute cuddly teddy bear that rips his butt when he bends over.

I can't stand siggie, ressie, furbaby,TheSweetpea, Cindy's.....the list could go on and on.
