The WL/DCL/BCV Extravaganza! Trip Report - UPDATE 1/29 NOT FINISHING THIS

I know, I took foreverrrrrrr! I plan on doing another update today though to make up for it!! :)

I think if we had to fly home that day, I would have cried. That was a big part of the reason I booked another two nights at WDW. I just didn't want my vacation to end. 10 days seemed like such a long time for a vacation and it absolutely FLEW by!!!

Stormalong Bay is crazy!!! I loved it. They actually will check your resort id and give you a wristband to go into the pool. I think they stop checking after 6 though so if you ever wanted to check out the pool, just remember that. ;)

Beaches and Cream is awesome!! The food is decent, nothing special, but the sundaes more than make up for it! And the waitresses are so cute in their 50s getup. We loved it! Hoping to make a stop there on this trip...strictly just for ice cream this time!! They had a couple more sundaes I wanted to try!

Oh I'm so excited for another update today! I'll be this smiley :hyper: but behind the computer like this :surfweb:

10 days is a long vacation!! But vacations just make time go faster, unfortunately. If things go as planned, I think I'm going on 3 this year! Do you guys have anything planned besides your upcoming trip?

Good to know about when they stop checking the wristbands! I'll have to keep that in mind. hehe. How late are they open?

I'm sure I would love everything about Beaches and Cream. But I should've made a trip just for ice cream! Does it count as a snack credit? Hmm...even if it doesn't, I would go. Next time you go on a longer trip, you should go every day and try every sundae and let me know which is best! All I ever hear about is the No Way Jose! :rotfl:

Oh...I also meant to tell you...if you've read my comments on Staci's tr, you'd know that her and I always find weird things in numbers. Anyway, your room number was SO close to being the numbers of my birthday! I almost got excited. My birthday is 4-13. lol I'm a dork I know!

I was thinking of doing another Disney trip for my birthday. Maybe 4 nights there and then two at a Universal resort. I want my sister to go cause she hasn't been to Universal in years and we did Disney together about 3 years ago. Plus, we both love Harry Potter and would get a kick out of the new area which should be open by then!!

I'm not sure how late the pool area is open. I think the guards are only there until 10? But people are in the pool all hours of the night.

I doubt the ice cream counts as a snack credit. Maybe the take out ice cream does but the sundaes, there's no way. They are a meal in itself! Beaches and Cream counts as a TS service though and since you get dessert, maybe it counts with that?? :confused3 We paid OOP.

We should have moved one room over!! :rotfl:

Oh, YAY!!! The Beach Club looks amazing! :thumbsup2 How fun to have a little mini water park right there. Stormalong Bay sounds like SO much fun!! Your room is super cute, and I'm excited to hear about Typhoon Lagoon! I barely even remember it since I was 15 the last time we went. And Hoop-Dee-Doo starring you?!?! Can't wait! :woohoo:

This will be short, we're getting slammed at work as I try to type this!

So I left off with us deciding to go to Typhoon Lagoon. It was a bit cloudy this day but we hadn't had any rain for our whole trip so we decided to go anyway. I mean, it's a waterpark. Who cares if it did rain?

We got there around 2:30-3 and headed straight to the wave pool. Well, wouldn't you know it. It started pouring. :rotfl: We had left our clothes out in the open on a chair so they were drenched but then the rain stopped so we figured that was the worst of it, they'd dry within a couple hours.

We made our way over to the Crush n Gusher and did all three slides. I love that ride! So much fun! Best. Waterslide. Ever. After that, we went over to the lazy river and did Gangplank Falls. During this time, the sun was peaking through and it was drizzling on and off. As we made our way back down from Gangplank Falls, we decided to take one more dip in the wave pool and then be on our way. Well, wouldn't you know it again? The sky decided to open up and unleash BUCKETS of water on us. It was coming down so hard that it was bouncing off the water in the wave pool and practically stinging you. We ran to get our clothes, which were just soaked beyond belief, and ran for the bus. The bus was nice and cold and we were shivering haha. The bus driver couldn't help but chuckle at us and everyone else was just staring at us because of course we had to stop at Downtown Disney! We left huge puddles all over the bus! :lmao: So that was a few hours well spent at Typhoon Lagoon! Thank goodness I didn't bring my camera! It would have been ruined.

When we got back to BCV, it was time to get ready for dinner. We had a reservation at Hoop Dee Doo that night!

We headed through Epcot (loved being able to walk to Epcot!) and made our way toward the front of the park, to the Fort Wilderness bus stop. On the way, we saw these guys!

DSCN1068.jpg

They're always so great but we couldn't stay long because we had to be at FW in an hour!

The bus took FOREVER to show up. This had to be one of our longest wait times. It was SO hot out too, it was gross!!! Here is our 'we're miserably hot at the bus stop' shot.

DSCN1070.jpg

The bus finally showed up and when we got to FW, we had to wait for their inner resort bus to pick us up. :sad2: That made 5083208 stops but finally, we were at Hoop Dee Doo! Can't wait to tell you all about it!

Coming Up:
Dinner at Hoop Dee Doo
EMH at MK

Oh wow, TL sounds awesome! I just love water parks. That's so funny about how you made puddles on the bus!! Hilarious!!

I forgot that you had HDDR!! I can't wait to hear all about it because I just LOVED it. Everyone else seems to think its too corny or something. :confused3 I'd go see it again though! Can't wait to re-live it with you! Sounds like you had an even better time than me though! ;)

I LOVED Hoop Dee Doo. It was just a complete and total pain in the butt to get there!! I would go again but only if I had my car with me! :rotfl:

That sucks about the rain at typhoon lagoon, and your bus trip through the campground. Another way you could have gone is go to the MK and take boat from there it stops at the WL first then stops right by HDDMR.

At least you were already wet when it was pouring!! Hopefully it made it a little more bearable. I am looking forward to reading more. :surfweb:

YAY!! I loved it too!! I think their whole internal bus thing makes it a pain for everyone. Oh well...I'm just glad someone else liked it too!! :woohoo:

I think we'll do that next time! The only reason we went the way we did was because we were right next to Epcot. I wish I had planned the Hoop Doo Dee dinner while we were staying at WL. It would have been so much easier!

True but it would have been nice to put on dry clothing! :rotfl: The bus was FREEZING!!

We really enjoyed it. I loved the show, our waiter was awesome, and Joe had all the food he could eat. :rotfl:

So when I last left you, we had finally made it to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue! I know some people say it's a little corny but I absolutely loved it. Our server, I think his name was Jim, was EXCELLENT. He cracked all these cheesy one liners but he had us cracking up and he played along with the theme well. We were sat just the two of us, in a little corner off to the side but very close to the stage. Those of you who are familiar with HDDR, it was right by where the piano player sits. Great location! :thumbsup2 I like that the actors go up into the balcony and get everyone involved. Anyone who's thinking about going to this, don't worry about what tier you pick. Every seat is a good one! Just don't be afraid to be embarrassed. ;)

Even the servers get in on the act. That's our server between the Short and Cake signs.

DSCN1087.jpg

So all was quiet, I was relieved that no one had really come to our table except to pick on Joe for eating all of the ribs and chicken. :rotfl: He had a STACK of bones on his plate and one of the guys (I forget his name in the show) said 'I don't think I've ever seen that before.' :lmao: So shortly after dessert was served, I turn my head and the same guy is holding out his hand and says 'you're coming with me.' :scared1: So up on stage I go.

There's the guy who picked me, all the way to the right.

DSCN1088.jpg

What did I have to do you ask? Oh, well, I was a can can girl. And I actually had to can can dance. :lmao: I even had a line. 'I couldn't do that, I'd be too emBEARassed' :rotfl2: I think the audience got a kick out of me, no pun intended. After the show, I had to use the restroom and a whole bunch of people told me what a great job I did.

They gave me an action shot of me can-can dancing and a certificate saying that I was an honorary member of the HDDR. I loved it! That was probably the most fun I've ever had at dinner anywhere!

One more shot from HDDR cause I love this picture.

Continued....

So after dinner, we hopped on the ferry over to MK. I think Joe had had too much sangria at this point because the ferry was waiting to fill up so we stayed docked for awhile. He's usually not the impatient type (that's more my style) but he was getting annoyed. It was comical to say the least haha.

On the way over, we saw the Electrical Water Pageant. Neat! I'd never seen this before and we were seeing it up close. I took some pictures but they came out really blurry. My shots of the Contemporary turned out ok though.

We got to MK and I took a couple of random night time shots.

We got to walk through the castle! I haven't done that in years!

We went right over to Philarmagic.

Pardon my hair, it was sticking to me at this point! :scared1:

Time for Haunted Mansion!

Can you tell I love POTC?

By the time we got off POTC, the park was about to close. We caught the bus back to BCV. We were EXHAUSTED! Couple shots on the way back to the room.

I think Joe was dancing or something here.

Welcome home....

That brings Day 8 to a close.

Coming Up:
Our last night in Disney World :sad1:

Way to star in the show!! :) I bet they were excited when they saw what a great addition to the show you made. :goodvibes So sad that your trip is coming to an end!! At least you are heading back soon!! Are you plans made for it?

how come they noticed about joe eating all the food, yet YOU had to go up on stage??!!! lol

I had so much fun in the show!! I haven't gone overboard planning for the February trip. It's pretty low key. We're staying at ASMo, I requested a Toy Story building. We have ADRs at Tusker House, Sci Fi, Garden Grill, and Liberty Tree Tavern. The first night we get there, we're just going to tour resorts and hang out at DTD and then the next day we'll start the parks!

how come they noticed about joe eating all the food, yet YOU had to go up on stage??!!! lol

I don't know! He calls attention to himself and then I get the brunt of it! :rotfl:

I'm surprised Joe had sangria instead of the beer. (Sorry...stereotyping men as beer drinkers lol) Did they bring out pitchers of the stuff too? I was just expecting a huge pitcher of beer after my dad's experience there!

I loved the ribs too...they were great! So was the chicken and the cornbread. I just loved it. I wish I could've been there the same night as you and seen you do the can-can! You look adorable in that little outfit. I see a cute Halloween costume in your future! :rotfl2: Maybe even full-on career!! You were born to can-can!

I'm glad you liked the show. Yes, its corny but it's a very good corny. I think people hear corny and think that's automatically lame, but it's not lame like a popsicle joke corny. I don't think anyone could go there and NOT have a great time! Even if they didn't offer certain bottomless alcoholic beverages. ;) I think it was one of my most fun dinners ever and I wasn't even called on stage! I'm SO HAPPY you were!

You are just the cutest person ever. Seriously. I'm not making this up. MULTIPLE people in WDW back me up...opening DHS and now co-starring in HDDR? That's so awesome that you got picked for those things!! I'm jealous.

Also, love the picture of Joe with the washboard. It seriously just made me kick myself though. I didn't even think to get a picture with those and I loved that part. I wish you could've seen Landon during that part...he just feeds off other people's excitement and was having the time of his life! So cute!

Don't you just love how people talk to you in WDW? One person came up to me and told me how great he thought it was that I told them it was my parents anniversary...I was shocked. I'm not shocked about how many people must've been coming up to you after! You probably stole the show!! You should go audition and move your status from "honorary" to "legit". :rotfl2:

(I'm in a goofy mood today and memories in addition to your great pictures only amplified that.)

Joe is a beer drinker but he loves sangria too and since that's what I was drinking, he just went along with it. They didn't serve it in a big pitcher, they just keep giving you refills. I love the glasses though. They're these cute little mason jars!

I am SO good at the can-can! If I could carry a tune, I would so audtion for Hoop Dee Doo! :rotfl: Seriously, I would love to work at Walt Disney World or even as part of their travel company. I think I sometimes know more than the people that pick up the phone when I call them! I'd be a great addition! :rotfl2:

I'm sure Landon was super adorable with the washboard! Make sure you snap a picture of him next time! The whole time I was up on stage, I was thinking 'Man that strawberry shortcake looks good.' :lmao: I devoured it when I was able to sit back down. I was up there for like 20 minutes!!

I was really lucky this trip to be picked for so much stuff! It was a blast!

I bet you are good at the can-can!! Aren't you always surprised when CM's aren't Disney experts in every category! I met one who didn't know the difference between Chip and Dale...I know not everyone does, but I thought a cast member would! I bet you do know more than most of them! If I was in charge of hiring at Disney, I would hire you! Would you ever want to work at a Disney specific agency? Or just the other you told me about? ;)

I will totally get pictures of Landon with the washboard next time! I cracked up about you being on stage and just thinking about how good the strawberry shortcake looked!! And you make fun of me for my love of food!

I bet it was a blast getting picked for everything! Lucky you! How are plans for your upcoming trip coming?
