The WL/DCL/BCV Extravaganza! Trip Report - UPDATE 1/29 NOT FINISHING THIS

When I last left off, our day at CC was over. :guilty: But we still had dinner and one more show to look forward to!

When we returned to our stateroom, I snapped a couple of quick pictures so you could get an idea of what it looks like.

We took a power nap and then got ready to head off to the show.

OMG you guys. This show was amazing. No wonder they save it until the last night. It was called Disney Dreams and it's about a girl, Anne Marie, who embarks on a journey through "Genies, Princesses, and Kings" with Peter Pan. As you may have guessed, the show includes scenes from Aladdin, Cinderella, and The Lion King. She needs to believe by midnight so she can fly with Peter Pan. It's FABULOUS! I absolutely was blown away by it and loved it so much! This was definitely the best of the 3 shows!

After Disney Dreams, it was time for dinner at Triton's. We saw a couple of familiar faces as we were waiting to go into the dining room.

Triton's is gorgeous and is more formal than the other dining rooms. Tonight was an optional formal night but I didn't see a lot of people (other than Minnie and Mickey!) who were really dressed up.

Intoducing my DIS tablemates! I'm really sad none of us thought to get a picture of all of us together! :sad2:

We're talking about all meeting up again in fall 2011! :thumbsup2 I had a great time with all of them and they were the nicest cruisemates we could have asked for!

Dinner was great, as usual, even though our service was sloooow once again. I really was not impressed with the service on the Wonder. As I looked around, I saw the other servers interacting with their tables, making ears out of plates, and animals out of the napkins. Our server barely interacted with us, disappeared for long periods of time, and berated our assistant server (who was a week into the job) in front of us. Maybe if you didn't leave him by himself all the time he'd have a better idea of what to do. It just was not the top notch Disney service I was expecting. The hospitality at the WDW resort does not fully extend to the cruise line. I think that's something they need to address. Other than that, I have no complaints except for waiting an hour in the terminal before boarding with no announcement of why boarding was stopped. :rolleyes1

But anyway...here are some pictures of Triton's! If you couldn't tell from the name, this restaurant is themed after the Little Mermaid. There is a big mural depicting a scene from the movie on the wall and the lighting makes it seem as though you are underwater.

After dinner, Joe and I walked around the ship for a bit. We just wanted to enjoy our last night on board. We were sad to go but excited that we were returning to WDW the next day. Look who we saw in the lobby!

DSCN1038.jpg

We decided to call it a night after wandering around the ship for a bit since we had to be up fairly early the next morning to disembark. Look who was waiting for us when we got back to the stateroom!

I loved that it was a stingray! Perfect touch and nice ending to a WONDERful day. :)

Coming Up:
Return to WDW
BCV and Stormalong Bay
Hoop Dee Doo

Triton's looks great. As usual, after reading an update from you, it takes a lot of will to not go book a cruise right now!! Actually...there is no will. If I had the money, I would probably book another cruise after every update I read from you!! :rotfl:

How are your rangers doing? I can kind of tell from your fb updates but only know based on a game by game basis, not overall.

I was REALLY hoping the Broncos could beat both Manning brothers...but alas, we could only get the one on your Giants. Personally, I would've rather lost to the Giants because then you could've been happy and then I could've been extra happy that we beat the stupid, undefeated Colts. But apparently the football gods don't care about my opinions about it. :rotfl2:

I really hope Disney releases cruise dates for that 25/nt deal in April. It's me and Joe's anniversary and we really want to go on a week long cruise. Keep your fingers crossed!

My Rangers suck lol. They've won their last two games but prior to that, they lost 5+ games in a row. Ugh. I'm hoping they can turn their season around.

I like both Manning brothers so I was hoping you wouldn't beat either. :rolleyes1 Just kidding! You know me, I am not a football buff lol.

Oh I hope you guys get a good weeklong cruise!! Keep me updated of course, because I want one too!!

I'm sorry about your Rangers. Don't you hate when your team sucks? I mean, this past Sunday, the Broncos lost to the stinkin' Raiders!! I mean, the Colts is understandable because they are undefeated but the Raiders?! It was only by one point, but still! Right now we still have a shot at the Playoffs in the wild card race...but sometimes we just plain suck!! It's not fair. Lets hope the hockey gods start smiling on the Rangers and the football ones on the Broncos!

(Ok and I honestly like both Manning brothers too...they have the best commercials! I just don't like them when they play us and especially not when they beat us! :rotfl:)

The Rangers have actually won 3 in a row. But against teams that are equal to or worse than they are, so I don't really know if I should be happy about that. :rotfl: Good luck to the Broncos!!

Yay! I can post again! I think since I put 'Day 7 Complete' in the title for my thread, the mods thought the whole TR was complete and moved me to that forum. And then no one could post, including me! I still have days 8-10 to post! So I emailed the mod and magically :wizard: I have posting access again. Thank you DIS mods!

So I promise a real update soon. The holidays have been crazy and hectic with shopping, traveling, work, holiday parties, etc. Once New Year's is over, I'll put an update up. I need to finish this TR before my upcoming trip in Feb! I am really looking forward to that!

I hope everyone had a great holiday, whatever you celebrate, and have a happy, healthy New Year!

YAY!!! I couldn't post on your tr either!! It was tragic...I wondered what happened!! Well I hope you had an amazing New Years! And I can't wait for your next update!!

:woohoo: Yay! Your TR is back up and running. I hope you had a phenomenal start to your New Year!! I believe you are also returning to Disney NEXT month right?? :goodvibes:goodvibes

Looking forward to the next update. popcorn::

Well I was behind, but luckily not too much, since you weren't able to post for a bit! :goodvibes

Castaway Cay looked so beautiful! I though that was great having Jack Sparrow wandering around out there. I bet that's a fun character to play.

I wonder why they shut down my TR in the first place. I didn't even realize until I came here to explain why I haven't been posting. I still haven't got the rest of my pictures uploaded but I promise an update soon. I need to finish this before I leave for WDW again! lol

Yes, I am going next month! :thumbsup2 2/18-2/22. I'm so excited!!!! I can't believe I'm going to be there again so soon.

I've been slacking on updates. Sorry! I need to get on that!!

Castaway Cay is AWESOME. I could go on and on about it's awesome-ness lol.

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm glad it's back up and running--I was so confused when I tried to post the other day!!

The end of your Castaway Cay day sounds so wonderful! That show sounds incredible--all of the shows within the show are some of my favorites! :thumbsup2 And Triton's looks gorgeous. Everything about the cruise just sounds wonderful!! I'm so glad you had a great day!! :goodvibes

SONNY ECLIPSE JUST ACCEPTED MY FRIEND REQUEST FINALLY!

I just got an email about it!! He must've just been away from his account for a while. You know, since FB can be potentially drama causing!!

I was so mad when I found out it was closed!! I don't know what happened.

CC is absolute paradise. I really hope you and Michael get to go there one day. I know you would love it.

ME TOO!!!!!!! :woohoo::yay:

I finally got around to uploading the rest of my pictures to Photobucket. Sorry for the huge delay between updates! But I'm back and I intend to finish this TR by the time I return to WDW in February!

So, we woke up bright and early to disembark. I was sad to be leaving the Wonder. It felt like we had just gotten on the ship and now we had to leave. :guilty: I think I would have been more upset if we had to go home that day but we were going back to Walt Disney World! So that definitely helped to lift my spirts!

We decided to skip breakfast in the main dining room and went to the buffet instead. We ran into Karen and Gary on the top deck and said our goodbyes. They were staying one more night at SSR I believe and then returning to the UK!

Disembarkation was fairly easy (no waiting around like embarkation :sad2:) and we found our luggage pretty easily. Mine stands out since it's bright purple!! We saw Lainey and Greg outside near the shuttles and wished them a safe flight back. Pretty soon we were in the shuttle (just a plain old van) with a few other people and we were on our way back to the World.

I think we stopped at POR first, then the Swan & Dolphin, and finally BEACH CLUB! Joe and I pretty much ran into the lobby, we were so excited to be staying here! We were treated like DVC members since we were staying in the villas and they gave us a packet welcoming us 'home.' I cracked up when the CM asked what our home resort was because Joe was on the verge of saying Pop Century. :rotfl: He had no idea what the guy meant and since we had stayed at Pop so many times, I guess that's what popped into his head!

Our room wasn't ready yet (it was early, we didn't expect it to be) so we went to the rest rooms to get changed into our swimsuits and then stored our luggage with bell services. It was time to explore STORMALONG BAY!

Let me tell you, this pool(s) are as awesome as everyone says! Sand at the bottom, cool waterslide, water falls, a "lazy river" type pool. It's huge and you could spend the entire day there! We found a couple of chairs and ran straight to the water slide. I got an action shot of Joe coming down the slide but didn't actually get him in it, just his splash haha.

DSCN1040.jpg

DSCN1041.jpg

The slide is really cool. You have to walk toward the beach a bit and climb the stairs of a pirate ship. It's an enclosed tunnel for a bit of it and then you go under a little waterfall, turn a corner, and then you're in the pool! We made good use of it! ;)

Self picture time!

We were getting pretty hungry by this time so we decided to go to Beaches and Cream! I heard great things about this place so I was super excited! :) It is SO cute inside. 50s themed, everything in pastel colors. I loved it!

I believe we had burgers and fries, which were pretty good. Then it was time for dessert. No Way Jose Sundae!!!!

Continued...

After lunch, we decided to head back to the front desk to see if they had a room ready for us. They did! Time to go see our room!

This is who greets you as you make your way into the BCV building!

Our view was great! This is the villa pool, which hardly anyone uses. Notice how empty it is!

At this point, we were debating on whether to go to Typhoon Lagoon or not since this was our original plan. We decided what the heck, let's just go for a couple hours, we have the option on our tickets, might as well use it!

Coming Up:
Typhoon...Monsoon??
Hoop Dee Doo Starring Me!

Yay!! The BCV look really nice!! I am getting more and more curious about renting DVC points but it scares me so unless we join DVC (maybe in the future ;)) we will not be able to stay there

Looking forward to reading more popcorn::

Finally a new update!! You were almost taking as long as it takes Sonny to accept friend requests!! I'm just kidding, of course! ;)

How sad must disembarkation be! Especially of a DISNEY ship. I can only imagine. I think when I get off my upcoming cruise, it won't be that sad because I will be dying to see Landon! But once him and I are on a cruise together...yeah, I'll probably cry!

Storm-Along Bay looks amazing!! I would love to go and just play there all day!! I saw the slide and was very impressed. Isn't that pool the reason why they made the rule about no pool hopping? Because everyone went there!! It's not hard to see why! Just like I'm not the least bit surprised the villa pool was barely being used!!

The details in your room are amazing. I know where I am staying when I have a daughter who loves the Little Mermaid!! ;) Of course, I would love to stay there before that too!! I loved that whole area the most when we were visiting resorts! I'm so glad you guys stayed there!

I cracked up at Joe almost saying your home resort was Pop Century! That's hilarious. That reminds me of when we were at Sci-Fi, the lady asked me where we drove in and I was like "actually, we flew" and she kinda hit the car and looked at me like I was an idiot. (Well, she wasn't rude about it, but you know.) That's so funny that he nearly said that.

I'm dying to try Beaches and Cream. It looks so cute...I hadn't realized how nice the interior was. I knew the theme but didn't really know what it looked like. Now I want to go even more! I am definitely getting a No Way Jose!! MMMMMMMM looks so good!

BCV is awesome! The hotel is beautiful and the location can't be beat! I loved being able to walk over to Epcot. I'm scared of renting DVC points too. I don't think I would do it unless I actually knew the person. The only reason we were able to stay at BCV at all was because I got a TA rate on it and that pretty much slashes the price in half! I work with a guy who is a DVC member so if he ever mentions renting out points, I'll be sure to keep you in mind!

I know, I took foreverrrrrrr! I plan on doing another update today though to make up for it!! :)

I think if we had to fly home that day, I would have cried. That was a big part of the reason I booked another two nights at WDW. I just didn't want my vacation to end. 10 days seemed like such a long time for a vacation and it absolutely FLEW by!!!

Stormalong Bay is crazy!!! I loved it. They actually will check your resort id and give you a wristband to go into the pool. I think they stop checking after 6 though so if you ever wanted to check out the pool, just remember that. ;)

Beaches and Cream is awesome!! The food is decent, nothing special, but the sundaes more than make up for it! And the waitresses are so cute in their 50s getup. We loved it! Hoping to make a stop there on this trip...strictly just for ice cream this time!! They had a couple more sundaes I wanted to try!
