I've wished someone would start a thread for this but it hasn't happened so I will do it...and hope for interest. :)

I think we could use a place to post about the gear we buy. When you buy something, when you get a good deal, when you wonder about a website/product, etc. you can post about it here.

And remember that the WISH Team gets a discount at:
http://www.runningwarehouse.com/
Code: (see sticky thread)
Big thanks to chimera(Mel) for acquiring this code for us!

I got a new pair of Asics's 2160's on sale at runningwarehouse, great deal! I haven't needed to start using them yet but it's nice to have the next pair of running shoes ready and waiting.

I ordered a running visor, a Headsweats one, from runningwarehouse this week. Haven't gotten it yet. I need something for the sun, it kills me when it's shining on my face! Not to mention I want to prevent wrinkles. lol I do wear sunscreen but I want full shade on my eyes/eye area.

I'm thinking about those running dresses...saw an article about them in the Self magazine I got recently. There's a running store near me that carries them so I think I'll go and try one on at some point. Anyone use them?

I think this is a great idea. Thanks for starting this thread.
I've been shopping so much for running/workout clothes in both stores and online....sorry Nordstrom’s and Ann Taylor.

I picked up another pair of my favorite running shoes, Saucony Stabil CS2 at Overstock.com. For about $50 less than I would at my local running store. If I find something I love I just shop around to find it at the lowest prices.

Kohl’s Department store has been having huge savings on workout/running clothes. Prices are really discounted. Picked up some shirts, Nike pull overs, and a couple of running skirts/capris or skapris--which I just love. Nike.com has great sales on an off then also sign up for membership and you get free shipping. Picked up a great full zip running jacket for 35.00 orig. $ was 80.00.

I love Running Warehouse. Thanks for letting me know about the WISH discount. I get my merchandise delivered the next day since we are both in California. Check out Tennis Warehouse too-sister to Running Warehouse for hats and visors. They seem to have different merchandise and a bigger selection of hats/visors.

Can't wait to hear about more great deals. Happy shopping.

Also check out Zappos. There selection on running/workout clothes is pretty good. I also love the free shipping and returns.

(Who was the one who got us this discount? I'd like to acknowledge you here. :))

that was me. set it up a few years ago. as you're doing your gear shopping, check and see if the companies offer a team discount. Many do.

I like to use my local running store, but it's really hard to beat the prices and service I've gotten from runningwarehouse.com. They have a great return policy too!

Love Running Warehouse - been buying from there for years. (Thanks Mel)

Had no idea on Tennis Warehouse but some great deals there too. Since I can now go back to tennis  time to do some shopping.

Be careful sharing the code in public like this. Other groups have lost their discount codes for RunningWarehouse by posting them publicly. They are intended to be private for the group they are offered to and the settings here on the boards will allow the general public to google and pull up this code.

I can tell this will be a very dangerous thread for me! I've already done quite a bit of damage on the runningwarehouse site.

A tip from me...a long time ago, I went to a running store to get properly fitted for running/walking shoes. They suggested Mizunos and I probably paid 100-125 for them. After I had them for a while, a friend told me about a site that sells running shoes, including styles that are from past seasons. It's holabirdsports.com. From then on, I've bought my Mizunos from there -- last November, I bought two pairs [last year's style] for 65 dollars each...two pairs because shipping was free if I spent more than 75 dollars.

Hope that helps.

I just bought DH and myself a pair of Brooks (Ravenna 2 for me, Adrenaline for him) from Holabird sports for less than $60/pair and got free shipping! The item I am currently dying to have is a pair of CW-X compression tights but am having trouble pulling the trigger....if anyone sees a great deal, let me know!

The Running Company stores (NY and NJ) will give out a student discount (10%) when you buy in the store or you can bring in a race number from one of their races and also get 10% off. They were really great about helping find a shoe, but in the future I'll probably look for more discounts.

As a question... does anyone have any recommendations for ways to carry stuff while running? I hate to carry things, but as summer gets closer I know I'm going to need to bring water for the long runs plus my iphone (which I usually just hold onto), keys, id, etc.

Running Warehouse may blow my budget, but it's a good feeling. I've wanted to celebrate, somehow, after running the Princess, and decided on a piece of new running gear. Except I didn't want to pay the higher prices at my running store. What do I find at Running Warehouse? The same style of shorts I wore during the 1/2 for almost 50% off the retail price. Thank you for starting this thread :goodvibes

Thank you for sharing the info. It is always good to know where you can get low price running stuff. Saw something I like already, but going to have to wait.

So my new running visor was delivered and I wore it for my 3 miler this morning. I LOVE it! It's so comfortable and it worked perfectly. I wore my sunglasses with it and it all fit well together. This is the one I have (in white): http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpage-HSSV.html#
It was a great deal with the WISH discount! :thumbsup2

I have a Spibelt, a Fuelbelt and an iFitness double pouch belt. I prefer my iFitness double pouch, as seen here: http://www.ifitnessinc.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=8
I love it. Now as you can see mine doesn't carry water. But they have some that do..I think only with a single pouch though.

I don't usually carry water with me. For races I just use the water stops. For training runs I will leave water in my mailbox and run past there as many times as needed. Once in awhile I'll carry a water bottle in my hand, it doesn't bother me.

I starting walking longer distances back in January. During one of those walks, my mp3 player fell out of my jacket pocket while I was crossing a busy street. I spent a few harrowing moments watching as several cars drove over [but not on top of] my mp3 player -- had to wait until the light changed before I could rescue it. Whew, it was okay but I had a couple of extra gray hairs!

Shortly afterwards, I bought a similar item to this:

http://www.amazon.com/Nathan-Sports...=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1333167118&sr=1-2

The pouch is large enough for my mp3 player and also has a loop for keys and pockets for IDs. I also really like the fact that I can clip my phone and my pedometer to the belt -- some of my walking/running capris don't have enough structure at the waist to hold them. The water bottles that come with the belt are dishwasher safe and small enough not to be intrusive.

To be honest, I gulped at the idea of spending that much money on a glorified fanny pack but I love that thing. I found mine at a sporting goods store and the price was comparable to Amazon's.

Hope that helps.

For anyone in NJ -- Groupon is offering $50 credit at Runner's High in Freehold for $25 til about the 18th.

Liz, you're teasing me with all these sales today!! My DS is home sick on the couch which leaves me with not much to do but play on the internet.... Not a good thing!!!!!
