Returning home to Wilderness Lodge in January, and we are so excited. We have stayed at AKL, OKW, PC, and it's time to get back "home"! I hope the Christmas decorations are not down by Jan 4th!! Anyone know when they come down?

They come down January 4th. Sorry. :-(

HA HA HA! Well that just figures doesn't it? That's ok.......better luck next year! I'll just schedule my next trip in November 09 if I want to see them. Wait until I tell the family we miss it by hours.....:lmao:

When does your flight arrive? Maybe you will get to see some!!! I remember going just after Christmas & into January one year they had a lot of stuff up so maybe you will see some things...some people celebrate "little Christmas" I'm not exactly sure I just remember my mom talking about it & it's in the beginning of Jan.:confused3 I'm just graspin at stuff here!

Got back from a wonderful week at WL the wife and kids are hooked. I saw Stan while there we had a couple of nice conversations with him,I remember him from his bus driving days at FW. Asked him about his "retirement" he said it would be in June told him we would miss him when we come back next Oct., he winked at me and said not if you look for me on a Sat. or Sun..

Here are some photos of our stay

We arrived at the lodge on Jan. 6, a Sunday, this year, and I do remember seeing some "Christmas" left in the windows of the Mercantile!

I love seeing these pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Anyone else that has gone recently, I would love to see some more pictures! :-)

Lodge decorations going up as I type this!!!!!!!

I'm praying the decorations will still be there when we check in on 1/3!! The last day for the gingerbread house at GF, from what I read, is 1/4 so I'm hoping the decorations at WL will still be up!!!!! I'm soooo excited to see them!!!

Here are a few pics of my girls from around the lodge. The first one is my favorite. I love the different color flowers..

Just back from our first ever trip to WL, and 1st time ever staying on property! (been to WDW many times, but always stayed with family in the area). Had a GREAT time, and loved everything about WL! We had courtyard rooms overlooking the rocks to the lobby side of the pool - could sometimes hear pool noise in the early evening if we were around, but usually we we so tired when we got to the room we dropped into bed immediately and noise was never an issue!

had connecting rooms with my parents - we had our 4.5 yr old and 19 mo old with us. Only issue was the missing Pack n Play when we checked in but they had it up to us within a few minutes.

I second whoever said that the bus to MK is the best kept secret - one morning I was the ONLY ONE ON IT!! DH and DD waited 45 min that day at the ferry dock so I can say that he was frustrated with the ferry service - bus was DEFINITELY faster. I hate boats so it was the way to go for me - did the larger ferry once, and that was enough for me ;)

Roaring forks was great, I loved the refillable mug!! got all the milk and bagels and stuff we needed at the mercantile for quick room breakfasts for the kids. mousekeeping was great, we had towel animals every day in both of our room and we were encouraged to take them home at the end of our trip which my DD loved!!

even by the end of the trip I was still getting a bit turned around with the 37 differnent ways I could get to and from our room, but the walk wasn't bad. loved watching the electric water pageant each night - man, it is LOUD though -- and we took the girls to watch it from our beach one night. big hit!! Loved the "quiet pool" and hot tub - I forget what the name is but I loved having that empty hot tub after a long day in the parks! we hardly had time to explore at WL and I know we will be back - all in all a great experience, and thank you for this thread, I did a ton of research in advance! Happy to answer any questions now that I am a big one-time seasoned expert ;)

Let's see if these pics work...views from our room (3143):

Melh2os: What a great view! And your little one is too adorable, just maxin' and relaxin' :). I am so glad you had such a wonderful first on-site resort experience.

tardin1964: Your girls are precious. They look so happy that they are there :goodvibes.

I haven't posted on this thread in a LOOOONG time (as usual), but the WL is my favorite WDW resort. It's such a special place for my DH and me. We are heading to the Villas in May, but we hope to see the Christmas decorations there when we go next month (we are staying at SSR).

:wave2:

We just booked 8 nights at WL in April with the Buy 4 Get 3 Free deal. :yay: I am so excited to be going back for my 3rd stay there. That special offer is the only way we could've afforded it this time.

We'll be in a standard room barring a free upgrade, but as long as I get to be at the Lodge, I'll survive. I love it there. :cloud9:
