what are the two wings called? I think I saw someone mention a north wing but I wasn't sure which wing it was????

We had an 8:10 reservation at the Crystal Palace. Even though the boat to the MK wasn't running, the boats to the Contemporary start running early, I think around seven or seven fifteen maybe. We boarded that boat to the Contemporary and then walked the ten minute path to the MK. You could also take the monorail over from the Contemporary. Or take the bus too as my dear friend stated! I loved taking the boat by ourselves to the CR and walking over...it was a nice way to start out our morning :)

Were you able to eat and get out to the park for rope drop. We have an 8:10 at CP and I was curious if we would finish eating and see the characters before rope drop?

We had 8:10 reservations at CP last Feb. We were seated a little before 8:10 and finished eating around 8:45. We hadn't seen Eeyore - they started the parade around the restaurant and we knew it would be a while before we saw him. We left and waited at the rope drop for Fantasyland instead of waiting. It might be hard to see everyone in 40 or 50 minutes.

We didn't make rope drop. The eating part only took about maybe a half hour, but if you want to see all the characters, you will definitely be there a good hour. My DD wanted to see all the characters so we sat and waited patiently. We were in the park by 9:15 though and didn't miss too much of the action!

You can try disney florist-they make up baskets-I have read about another place but can't remember-sorry. I believe they will do whatever you like-not just what's on the website. I have never ordered from there-but some of the stuff looks beautiful!

Thanks we will give it a try! :woohoo:

We are doing the MK for three days and wanted to make rope our first day at the park. I was able to get another day for CP for breakfast. Thanks so much for the info!

WL experts -
to have a king bed room w/ full bath (not a disabled access room), we'd need to book woodsview, would that be right? Also, any tips on what woodsview room area to request?

Any help appreciated, we're trying to choose btwn WL and CBR.

If anyone's stayed at both CBR & WL, can you please compare the pool areas?

Thanks!

I can give you some pro's and con's about the WL pool.

Pro's: Main Pool - great theme, beautiful grounds, nice slide (although not very long or steep for older kids). Quite Pool - less crowded, nice secluded hot tub, easy to get a lounge chair.

Con's: Main Pool - Can get very crowded. Tough to find a lounge chair at times. Overall the pool and pool area can feel a little small for the size of the resort. Quite Pool - Can't really think of any con's other than the pool is a bit small.

As far as suggesting a woods view room what are you looking for??? Something quite....something off the lobby????

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of booking a courtyard view for our next stay and was curious if there are any "bad" courtyard views? I stayed at the WL back in Sept and booked a standard room and was upgraded to an amazing room where we could see the pool, the bay, the EWP, and even fireworks. Can you see the EWP from every courtyard view? any floors or areas to avoid? what's the difference between inner and outer courtyard? thanks for the help, we were spoiled last trip and this time I'm actually thinking of paying for it so I want to make sure I get another great view :)

I had a first floor courtyard view, and while the view was fine, I didn't like having a patio instead of a balcony. Although it did give me a shortcut back to the room, going in the entrance near vending machines. (To get to the first floor from the lobby, you actually have to take the elevator down one floor.)

Hello everyone! Sorry to do this as a Reply, but could not figure out how to start a new thread. We are planning a trip to Disney with our 2 kids (7 and 9), and wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. Is there a difference between the Lodge and the Villas at the Lodge? Is one better than the other? Thanks!

Hello... I am trying to get some information on the Wilderness Lodge
deluxe club level room. I was told that the deluxe room was quite a walk from the lobby but I was also told that the resort itself is compact and that none or the rooms are a very long walk..
Does anyone know the answer to this?

I can't imagine anything at WL requiring a long walk to anywhere? We didn't stay club level, but the resort is very compact as compared to other resorts at WDW. AND, it's all undercover which I liked in case of rain (which we didn't get). We loved WL and won't hesitate to go back. I found it "cozy" :)

Hi, all...I'm very excited about our upcoming Disney family reunion. I just wish it was sooner than February, 2010. It's a good thing I'm an obsessive planner; otherwise I'd never make it. :thumbsup2

Anyhoo...we're calling this the Disney Do-over because our last Disney reunion (in October 2006) was hampered when I broke my wrist 10 minutes before we were to leave for WDW. In spite of it, a good time was had by all; but it's basically a blur to me (can you say Lortab?)...so we're giving it another shot. I have it on good authority that I'm going to be securely surrounded by bubble wrap until we get to the resort! :rotfl2:

Sorry...I digress. :rolleyes1

Even though we can't make reservations yet, we're staying at WL (yay!), and I'm so glad to have found this thread because although I've been to WL many times, I've never been a guest there. We'll have six kidlets in tow, ranging in ages from three to 16.

My question is: What sort of kid-friendly activities do they have at WL, especially that will appeal to the younger set: aged three, five and six?

And, How old do you have to be to do the Segway tour of WL?

Thanks in advance for any and all information!

Laura

16 for the segway tour...and I believe that is at Ft. Wilderness and not the WL.

As far as kid friendly things to do the whispering canyon cafe is a fun time, the arcade is fun for the kids, renting a boat and going out onto bay lake is really cool as you have a large area to explore. The only thing is each one of them obviously would have to go with an adult. When you check in ask for an activities listing as they often have several different arts and crafts things going on during the day too.

Also at Ft Wilderness there is the campfire and smores with Chip n Dale.

The electric water pageant was also nice at night.

The Villas are DVC villas so you have the kitchen/bedrooms set up and if memory serves, they were off the lobby thru a breezeway and not "inside" the lodge. The rooms inside the lodge are hotel rooms. Does that make sense? DD and I stayed in a courtyard view room and had 2 queen beds, a nice balcony and a bath w/double sinks and underneathe storage which was nice extra space.

Don't forget too that there are also games and other activities by the pool everyday.

I don't want to disagree, but I think most of the deluxe rooms are at the very end of each wing. Although it is not a hard wark these rooms are still a pretty good distance from the lobby and bus stop. I think there are also some deluxe rooms where the "zig zag" is in each wing...I hope you know what I mean. These are much closer.

I can't believe how much closer our trip seems now that the christmas chaos is over! I have the big stuff planned (thanks to disboards) and now I'm working on the smaller details.

we have a 7:25am ADR at chef mickey's :scared1: , what is our best bet to get there on time from WL? It will be the first morning of our first trip, so we will be new to all the transportation options.

thanks for your help!
