A quick question for anyone who just got back: Are they still doing the pool/beach party with music thing? and if so, what are the times?

Thanks!

I did not see any beach parties last week but they may have been during the day when we were at the parks. They did show movies at night in the area behind the main pool lounge.

Are bounceback offers only good for that resort? For example is the offer only good for the Wilderness Lodge, or can it be used at another resort? The reason I as is that we are going to the Wilderness Lodge at the end of September 2011 and were hoping for a bounceback offer for April of 2012, but were planning on staying at the Coronado Springs Resort.
Another question about bouceback offers, do they usually have a range of dates that the offer is good for? For example Jan. 2012 to March 2012 or something like that.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

I don't think the bounceback was resort specific. It was for 35% off a future stay in 2011. It did not include anything for 2012. It listed the available dates. Busier times and holidays were not included in the dates. You had to book before you left.

Hi- I asked this over at the CL thread but never got any responses. For those that stay CL, when do you normally give your "tip" (basket, goodies, etc) to the CL CMs? We have been lucky to have stayed 3 yrs in a row now plus in 03 for our honeymoon and it's been the same very nice group. I usually give it the day before we leave. Just curious. Thanks

Is the internet charge per room? we will have an Ipad and a laptop, do we only get to use one for the fee or can we alternate and share the cost?

Is there free wi-fi anywhere at the resort?

Thanks

The internet charge is $9.95 per room, for 24 (contiguous) hours. There is one ethernet cord hanging in the closet and if you have Macs you can use an Apple AirPort Express for WiFi connectivity in the room. They're great to have because you won't have to connect your iPad or MacBook to the ethernet cord which is quite short.

There is no free WiFi at the WL, though the CR is currently testing free WiFi in some of its public areas.

No free Wi-Fi. Internet access is $9.95 per day. It is a wired connection, no wireless. You should be able to use both the Ipad and laptop as long as they are a wired connection and not at the same time.

If you are DVC member staying on points, it is free.

What if you're renting points? Is it still free? Do I just ask at check-in? :)

Hi everyone

So, I am a bit of a caffeine addict  who will be staying at the Lodge for the first time next month

Where, if anywhere, can I get a decent cup of coffee in the morning?

I was thinking of getting a refillable mug but is the coffee from Roaring Forks any good?

I noticed that on the WCC breakfast menu there are various espresso based coffees listed but would they let me order just coffee to go?

Thanks all

Hi all!
I have a few questions about transportation at WL-

- How often do the buses and boats come by?
- Which of these is a better way to get to Epcot (for opening)- boat to MK then monorail/monorail, or boat to CR then monorail/monorail- seems like the CR route would be faster but maybe not with longer walk down CR boat dock into the resort and up to the monorail platform? I assume the bus is faster than either of those options?

Buses and boats come quite often. I would suggest taking a bus directly to Epcot, unless you are wanting to take the monorail, then I would suggest boat to CR then monorail.

I would also say taking the bus directly to Epcot is the best option. I didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a bus my entire stay in Feb. As for the boats, going to and from the MK I waited less than 5 minutes. I found WL transportation to be great!!!:)

Actually, my experience too with WL transportation all around has been great. There was only one year where we had to wait for a bus at Epcot for an hour!!! It was crazy, clearly there was a problem. At the time it was tragedy, end of day, super hot and very tired. Other than that, we never wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. Ww always think we can grab breakfast on the go, but when we get to the bus stop, the bus is normally there!!!!!

I stayed using points from a DVC friend and I was not charged for the internet. I had trouble signing onto the internet. I called for tech support. The tech support person asked me if I was a DVC member. I told her no, a friend of mine is and booked the room for me. She told me that since the room was booked on points, it was free. She told me that when I signed on to accept the disclaimer that I would be charged $9.95 per day even though I would not be charged. She could get me on the net so she transferred me to a higher level tech. The next tech told me the same thing about no charge since room booked on points. They had to send a tech to the room. It turns out someone had taken a cable from the modem which is hidden behind the night stand on the other side of the room. I used the net for a two ro three of the days I was there. When I checked out there were no charges for internet usage.

Even though the bus stops at Fort Wilderness on the way to Epcot it is the quickest way using WDW transportation. If you have a car, I think the fastest way to AK, DHS and Epcot is to drive. The quickest way to MK is probably the bus followed closely by the boat.

speaking of the busses. My question to you all is - What is the longest you have waited for a bus back to WL? We stayed at POR Feb 2010 and we always could get on a bus fairly quickly to the parks, but when we were ready to go back to the resort we waited FOREVER! I timed the wait at DHS and it was 50 minutes. Lets just say I was not that magically happy.

Hi all
While we are on the subject of buses, can I get a bus to Downtown Disney from WL and back easily?
We will have a car but plan on going to DTD on our first night but thought parking would be difficult as A) it will be a Saturday and B) it would be 7/8pm
Plus I thought it would give DH a rest after a long flight
If it's very much quicker and easier by car though I think we would both prefer to drive
