Toys R Us is showing the price cut on the Wii on its home page! But, when I clicked it on it showed me a price of $249. Hopefully this gets straightened out in the next few hours, and I hope it's not a good-in-store-only deal. I've checked other web sites hoping they switched over at midnight EST, but TRU is the only one showing the price cut as of now.

Amazon has a really good deal on the Wii. $199 PLUS you get a $25 gift card . Ships free with super saver shipping. I looked at Walmart, but they didn't offer site-to-store free shipping.

target has it too....I wonder if it will go down any more before xmas?? or add more "stuff" to the package? Then I wonder, do we need another game system? :happytv:At my kids' ages tho, pretty much all they want...:)

Just wanted to add that Amazon is running a deal where you buy the Wii at $199 and you get a $25 giftcard. Now you can't use the giftcard on the Wii, thus making it $175, but you could use it to buy an extra game or accessory. Found it on slickdeals:

Thank you donald&daisy and mom of 3G's!

I was planning of getting one for DD for Christmas, but I'd rather get it now than wait for Black Friday deals (if there even are any on the Wii). It looks like the Amazon deal is the way to go for me.

Can you tell me what else do I need to buy for it, or does it come with what I need (battery charger, etc.)?

Also what games are good? I recall seeing a Disney karaoke-like game with a microphone. Is that any good?

To make the deal even better Amazon doesn't charge taxes unless you live in the same state as their warehouse.:thumbsup2

The system comes with one remote and one numchuck You will need to buy extra remotes and numchucks. The best way to get a remote at a discount is to buy wii play because you get a bunch of different mini-games and the remote.

I don't know about the game you referenced but my kids' favorites are anything Mario (mario kart, super mario galaxy, mario party). Black friday you can get some deals on games plus keep checking the discount bins. Target had Hanna Montana on clearance for $12 the other day.

You dont have to buy the remote charger it actually ends up costing extra money in electricity as you leave it plugged in all the time plus you have to buy one for each remote. I bought rechargeable batteries and a charger then I can use the batteries for whatever. Initially it's a little more expensive but in the long run it's cheaper.

I second the rechargeable batteries the best ones to get are the 15 minute rechargeables they are more difficult to find in the store but well worth it when you need batteries quick.

I always try to keep a pack of AA so while the 15 minute ones recharge play does not have to stop.

I will not post the links because seems I always get warned when i do but you can google Rayovac 15 minute rechargeable batteries and you should get a few hits found them at amazon.

Oh the 15 minute battery charge will charge any rechargeables but I do not think you can/should charge the 15 minute rechargeable batteries in a regular rechargeable battery charger as they get hot.

Leads me to believe Nintendo is coming out with a new and better system for Christmas that everyone will just "have to have"......

My DD keeps asking for the Wii, but I just can't see paying so much for a system and the games are $50 or more each especially when I've read reviews where the Wii stops reading the disks or skips and Nintendo charges $75 or more to fix it AND you have to pay for shipping both ways.

No tax is even better. I just ordered mine.
Thanks for the tips about the batteries, too!

bought one, but not the fit. Gotta save something for Christmas. Yay!!!

We've never had this problem and we've had it a couple of years. The only time we've had problems with the games was when they were scratched. It does have to have updates periodically so it helps to a wireless web connection but if you don't there are ways to download the updates to disk.:surfweb:

Games can easily be had for much much less than $50. It's only new releases that cost this much money. Prices drop peridically on games. Gamestop with used games is your friend as are sales at Christmas time.

amazon has the wii fit for $79. Is that a good price?

Wii Fit plus is coming out soon I believe. Amazon says it'll be $99 for the disk and the balance board. If you already have Wii Fit, it'll be $20 for just the Wii Fit Plus disk. I don't if the price of Wii Fit will decrease after Wii Fit Plus is released.

Ours stop reading the disk at 2.5 yrs old, it cost a flat rate of $89 including shipping. We did have to pay to ship it there but they shipped it back.

The $89 includes all repairs and they also give you another 1 year warranty.
Under warranty they pay shipping both ways and you have no out of pocket.

You can get games now as inexpensively as $10 at Big Lots although yes when they are first released they run from $29-$59 a piece or more depending on what comes with the game, ie guitar hero with all the band ;)

we didnt get the extended warranty on ours last year. Im kinda disappointed since its not the hit I thought it would be. yes, it gets played with but my xbox 360 sees more action these days.. Im debating on getting the wii fit since dd insisted she wanted it but now Im wondering if I should just get her a american girl instead from santa..:confused3

I'm trying to figure out why Dell still has the Wii at $249! I am hoping that they just haven't updated the pricing yet.

I found some good wii deals at myshopinsun dot com. Wondering if anyone has bought from that site. Never heard of them but they have a nice deal with extra nunchuck, remote, 2 steering wheels and mario cart. Really a great bundle price but feel nervous since I have never heard of them. Their return policy seems standard. Anyone ever heard of them or have any experience to share?:confused3
