Hi!

I was looking at 10 day tix vs. AP. There is quite a bit of difference, especially since there are 6 of us this year.

Then I looked at 6 day vs. 10 day. For only a couple hundred more, 6 of us can get 10 day tix instead of 6....great deal, but now I have a question...

Can I book a Disney resort for 5 or 6 nights w/ dining and get 10 day tix? (The other 4ish nights would be off site)? Or can I only get the tickets for the amount of days Im at a Disney resort?

With 2 kids in college this year, Im on a budget!! We need 2 rooms and will be staying at a moderate. If I can get the 10 day tix and stay a few days off site, then we can do deluxe for the nights we are at a Disney resort!!!

I just ran a package quote through the Disney website and I only entered a two night stay and it still allowed the option to change my tickets to 10-day instead of the 3-day. HTH!

You can absolutely get a different amount of days on your ticket. The only issue is that you can only pick up package tickets up to 3 days early, so put your 4 offsite days at the end of your trip, not the beginning.The dining credits go by the number of NIGHTS you stay onsite, not the number of DAYS on your ticket, so make sure to factor in meal costs that you will pay OOP for the offsite days.

You may want to try purchasing one AP just for the discounts associated with it--you may find the splurge worth it with a resort discount and possibly purchasing Tables in Wonderland which can save you 20% off food and alcohol at most TS restaurants (since you have kids in college, they may appreciate the discounted drinks ) Not everyone in your party needs the AP to benefit from the discounts--you just need one. Might be worth looking into at least.

Annual Passes usually only make sense if you're planning more than 10 days in the parks during a single trip, or multiple trips during a yearlong period.

You can add any number of days up to 10 to your package tickets. Some deals have minimum ticket purchase requirements, but I've never seen a maximum ticket restriction other than the standard 10 days.

You can get just one adult AP and use it to get discounts, however, it's difficult to make up the added ticket cost unless there are no general public discounts during the time you are there.
I did this a couple years ago, but I had 2+ trips planned for the year.

You can also buy the minimum number of tickets you think you'll need, then add days once you're in the parks.

You also need to do this if you have to do a split stay to get a promo.

I arrive the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and the last three years, the promo has been blocked out the first day.

I order an 8 day ticket and a room-only with a 7 day package.

If you start your stay off-site and then move on-site for the remainder, you can pick your tickets up to three days in advance at guest relations in any of the parks or DTD. DTD is the least crowded, but the most inconvient, unless you have a car and can park there.
