the whole "boarding- pass-thing gets me anxious

I had an experience tonight that shows why e-tickets are much better. I was in the Rochester airport waiting for my flight home from a business trip, I noticed an "old fashioned" ticket sitting on the seat next to me, the kind that printed in red carbon. I really didn't pay much attention to it, I thought it was just the receipt. A lady came and sat on the seat on the other side and picked it up and said "is this yours?". I said no. She looked at it and said - this is a live return ticket! Someone who left on their outbound flight must have left their return ticket there. So the lady took it up to the counter and gave it to the gate agent. They tried to page the person whose name was on the ticket, no luck. Someone will be searching for that! And they may have to pay for another ticket to get home! E tickets you never have to worry.

You guys are GREAT!!! I now know EXACTLY what I need to do:

I check my 2 suitcases cubside,with license and/or cc
(E-ticket confirmation/receipt/itinerary in my pocket )
And tip the person who takes my luggage
Then go to the security line!!!!

At curbside or ticket-counter, I handed over the e-ticket and license/ID. The tickets were paid in full so no CC was needed, besides I didn't have a CC to show em as my mom purchased the tickets. They printed the luggage tags/boarding passes, asked my sons their names, and viola! We were on our way. So easy!
Plus they require ID and boarding passes at security, and again asked DS's names, so keep em handy.

Just be prepared to take off your shoes! At MCO on return flight, EVERYONE had to remove their shoes. My mom was upset with me cause I wore flip-flops, haha! Last time she'll complain about my choices :p

You have no idea how much you helped me. Way,way, way back when I started to make trip plans(I remember your first post to me about booking airfare!). At that time, I had NO intention of booking anything on line! NOT me! You can't trust the computer, its a machine! LOLOL! Well, you convinced me to do it.
"Its so easy" you said. You coached me well. Told me to wait and watch and when I saw airfare I could live with, buy it! And that's what I did! 2 tickets $185 RT on American Airlines that happen to be on sale for just one Saturday last December! Then I printed about 25 copies of this E-Ticket just to be safe!!! LOLOLOL!
When I started to look for car rentals,I knew just who to ask!
With your advice and encouragement(lots of it!!) we will be using FastBreak (no waiting!!) and driving away from the airport in a car for 2 weeks for $230 !!!!!
And now,my trip is only 16 days away!! Thanks Gail!!!!!!!!

Okay guys, this is what I have.......

We booked our airfare through WDTC and they sent me 4, well, what I guess are E-TKT reciepts. They LOOK like a paper ticket would.

On the far right of each one is a removable stub that says Boarding Pass
XXXXXXXXXXX
Our names
ATL to MCO flight #
MCO to ATL flight #
But at the very bottom of this stub it says, NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL.

On the left side of each one its says
Passenger Ticket & Baggage Check
ETKT
Passenger receipt
NOT VAILD FOR TRANSPORTATION--THIS IS YOUR RECEIPT

SO.........are these what we use to use curb side check-in?
What would we need a credit card for?
I paid WDTC for the tickets along with my package deposit.

Thanks for your help
Chris

It is a definite advantage.

The only receipt I get from SWA when I book online is a printout of the Itinerary with the confirmation number on it. I feel assured it is acceptable, as I have never had a problem.

Good points about SWA, but my answer was based on the OPs indication that they were travelling on AA so I'll stand by by my recommendations in that context.

You have an E-Ticket. What WDTC sent your are your E-Ticket receipts. When a travel agency issues tickets, it's on a special airline system that uses a ticket printer just like the airlines have at the airport. So when a TA issues the ticket, it spits out a copy for the TA's office, and one for the passenger. It's not a ticket, it's just printed on ticket stock, really, it's equivalant to printing the confirmation screen if you booked on your own online. You don't have to bring them if you don't want to, no one will ask to see them. You just need photo id like everyone else. But if you feel better having them, by all means, bring them along!

Hand the skycap the tickets, he will take care of the rest. You will need photo id's also, no credit card. Sounds like you have "hard tickets". The stubs just automatically come with those when they are printed.
You don't need a credit card for this, don't worry about it.

and, I will totally agree with your recommendations for any airline but SWA. :) I was just clarifying for others that mentioned other airlines.

Ok,I'm getting use to the idea of cubside checkin with my E-ticket,but that still doesn't help me for my return trip. Should I use a copy of my E-ticket(I have many!) to get my boarding passes? Running around Disney trying to find a computer and printer just isn't anything I want to be doing. Can I just go to the counter at the airport with my E-ticket and get my boarding passes?
:scared1:

Its probably not worth the time and effort to try and do on-line check-in from WDW. Just go to the airport and check-in there as you normally would. An "E-ticket" isn't treated any differently than the old paper tickets when it comes to checking in, except now with an e-ticket you don't have to worry about losing it.

Thankyou so much Chicago526 ! I really appreciate your help.

In the past when we have had these E-Tickets from WDTC, we've always checked in at the counter because we thought we had to.I do remember that when we do this, we are also given our return return flight tickets.

So if we use the curb side check-in, will they also give us something for our return flight?

They gave you return boarding passes? I thought they don't issue those more than 24 hours ahead now.
