Aimee – How are you doing?:hug:

Vickie – We know you love us and besides, that was funny!

Brandi – When is your surgery scheduled for?

Nan – Rylee and Nola made me smile.:goodvibes

Pigletgirl – You will feel so much better after the root canal. I’ve had a few in the past 3 years, even one while at WDW.:sad2:

Marilyn –So it was a popcorn kernel causing all that pain?

Glynis – Sounds like y’all had a great night last night and another one planned for tonight!

WFD - Going out for some seafood, been craving oysters!

Brandi – When is your surgery scheduled for?

January 5th...

Dr and I both will be gone around Christmas so I am going today and getting all my dos and don'ts
This is my first time going completely under and I am nervous about it. My DH is a mess....

Marilyn –So it was a popcorn kernel causing all that pain?

It had to be. :sad2:I had not had popcorn for weeks and the pain abated almost completely overnight. And one night about a week later I wasn't thinking and rinsed my mouth out with regular cold water instead of warm and no pain.

Dinner will be at Olive Garden tonight. :yay:

Things are ok on my end. I found out this morning I need a root canal. The office isn't open on fridays (:confused3) so I'm scheduled for 8am on Monday! I feel a bit bummed, but I'm ready for it to be over with.

Boo! Sorry you have to wait the weekend :hug:

Work was loooong today and in the middle of the day I started feeling yuck again. The doc is going to call in another antibiotic for me so hopefully that'll do the trick.

I hope that med works for you!

morning everyone, I am off from work today, I have the pre-op appointment with my surgeon today..:sick: I feel green already...

This is knee surgery? I can't remember... I'm sorry :hug: I hope the appt goes well and you get everything squared away.

I survived the wisdom teeth removal! I had it done at my dentist; all mine were "up" but all had broken off in pieces. One was actually completely flat with the gum :sad2:

I just took a sedative at home beforehand, which made me loopy and sleepy, and he shot each tooth with tons of local. I didn't feel anything but pressure!

Took a few hours to get all 4 out but it's done. Yesterday I slept almost the entire day and ate very little. Today I'm feeling more normal. Doesn't seem to be much swelling that I have noticed :confused3

DH wants to see Hugo tonight so if I'm still feeling okay, we'll do that and probably eat someplace that has soup/soft food I can eat.

Saturday morning....good morning all. I see you've been chatty. I hope to find some time this weekend to catch up.
Heading out to the market, followed by breakfast with 3D friends. I'm starting to think about food for Christmas and if the salmon is good, I might get some today and freeze it.

It is my left foot. They are removing some bone and putting two screws in. But it will happen after the new year.. Thanks for thinking about me.

Dinner tonight is one I found on pinterest. Lasagna soup. Hope it's yummy! It sure sounded and looked good on the site!

How's the soup? I saw that recipe and was intrigued. But, I'm picky with my lasagna. Reviews? :goodvibes

morning everyone, I am off from work today, I have the pre-op appointment with my surgeon today..:sick: I feel green already...

Then I am working on our dinner plans for the next week and will go grocery shopping this evening when David gets home from work.

Hope everyone has a great day...

They'll give you magic medicine and you won't remember a thing. :cloud9:

We'll be thinking of you honey. Things will go fine. I had my last surgery in August, and I think we all have a sense of nerviness.

I know you said you've been putting this off. It's time, and hopefully you'll be so much better after! :hug:

It hasn't yet. I've had an infection in my teeth before and I have a gland in my chin that gets puffy when that happens and it is fine. I am hoping to make it to January when my new FAS kicks in, I am already paid out for this year.

The funny thing is I had been having problems for a long time with pain in the tooth under it, cold stuff would kill me and eating on it was absolutely out.:headache: Then I had horrible pain starting on a Friday, didn't sleep at all the first night, Ibuprofen and Aleve didn't work, got to the point that I couldn't even touch my teeth together. I was using ora-gel which did help but it was horrible. :headache:

At one point on Saturday I felt this sharp edge and thought it was broken, it wasn't. Sitting on the couch on Sunday evening and felt something on my tongue, it was a small piece of popcorn kernal, which I had not had any of in several weeks. :confused: The pain started abating and was gone by the next morning and since then it's been great which means that kernal was in there for a very long time and the bad pain was it working it's way out. :eek:

I had been really good about flossing and use a water flosser as well so that thing must have been stuck pretty far down that all that would not bring it out.

Yikes! That kernal was stubborn! Glad you're feeling better now that you got it out!

Giiiiirl, you're gonna love those pork chops! Hmmmmm...some things we have on tap for the next week is:

Honey lime chicken enchiladas (one of Amy's recipes from her blog! SO good)
Chicken piccata
Tomato basil soup (from pinterest)
Pork loin and mashed taters
Ginger and cilantro rubbed tilapia

If you haven't tried the honey lime chicken enchiladas, I'd highly recommend those! :cool1:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Work today was so much fun! We had a great luncheon (everyone raved about my dip!) and then had lots of laughs! Just one of those days that made me thankful for my job and the people I work with!
UncleR made sausage potato bake for dinner. :love:
We have to do a bit of running around tomorrow, and then we need to get our Christmas cards done and get them in the mail! :teeth:
Hope everyone has a great weekend!! :hug:
:scared1: I had to be put out for mine, no way I could have made it through that! I ate a lot of mashed potatoes and even tried to "puree" spaghetti, turned back into dough. :rotfl:
Dinner was good, had the stuffed Chicken Marsala and of course salad and bread sticks. Stopped at Five Below afterward and found the cutest gift for a coworker. She loves pink pigs and they had a pink pig step-stool. :yay:
I have been so far behind! I’ve been trying to catch up on this thread for the last two days! :faint:
Alison - When does the cat nazi visit? Will you know whether you have that cat or not?
Turns out now he has a cold, so I’m still waiting to hear from her, probably a week or two until we get him now.
Can I come to your house for Christmas dinner? :rotfl2: It sounds wonderful!
Thanks for the warm welcome! :goodvibes: I'm Emily and my husband Ryan and I got married back in April of this year. Its been a whirlwind 8 months, but we couldn't be happier! :)
It is unseasonably cool here! I drove to work today (early) with the heater on and that rarely happens. I treated myself to a skinny peppermint mocha from starbucks...yum yum! :) But we take it when we can because before long it'll be back to 115 again. :rolleyes1
Welcome! So where are you located where it is so unseasonably cool?
I live in Long Beach, CA with my partner of almost 15 years now and our kitties. We love to play music, do all things Disney and enjoy good food! She is disabled so we take a lot of time for her to rest, and I spend all my time on the computer!! :lmao:
I am home from work again today. I figure better safe than sorry. My Mom came over yesterday and listened to my lungs and said they were clear, which is what I thought, so I am pretty sure it is just a bad cold. I feel bad for saying John had the mold last week, because this is a bad one!
I know I’m way behind, but I hope that you feel better now!
Good morning my friends,
Thanks so much for the welcome to Liam. He is just precious. The news just keeps getting better and better. He is completely off of oxygen and breathing on his own. They also have taken out his port in his belly button. So Elizabeth and Jay got to hold him last night. Elizabeth said it felt like a little piece of heaven. Bless her heart!! It has had to be so hard not to hold him. I know I can't wait!! She should be getting out of the hospital today but will stay in town to be close. Liam will stay in the NICU until he is sucking good. So far he hasn't caught on. But he will. Again thanks for all the prayers and welcomes.
I hope that Liam is doing well and coming along nicely as well as Elizabeth too!
I am down to just 1 person that is leaving me stumped for a gift for christmas. It is Mr A's step brother he is 9.
That’s great! I am still awaiting Christmas lists from my family :headache:
I have been thinking about Christmas and am up in the air about dinner. I don't know if I shared that we are having a conflict about Christmas Eve. Well, we are not.............my SIS Il is. Every year we would go to Meme's for Christmas eve but this year will be going to my sister's. I used to always go there when she divorced because the kids were with her on CE and their Dad on Christmas Day. It got to be too much so after the kids were grown and she married Mike I just went to Meme's.
Anyway, I had promised Buddy that after meme was gone we would stay home, these are my first husbands family and he has gone there every year but really does not like to. They all would come to my home on Christmas Day so we were together both days. Well, Gail lost Mike in January and she wants to have the family together on CE and so Buddy and I are going. No question. My SIS IL is furious! She and her DH will still be here on Christmas Day and they are welcomed at Gails but they are not happy. No compassion for gail what so ever :headache: and I am not happy. Not only that but for the first time ever Jeff's father and all of his siblings will be together on a Holiday, Christmas Eve. Marisa has put her foot down and stated that they will be with Jeff's family but my SIS IL cannot even be happy for him. She thinks we all should go to her house to continue the Christmas Eve tradition that everyone all did for Meme.
She has decided to host a pre Christmas dinner DEC 17th and we will be there, (Buddy has not agreed yet, he is mad she is giving us all a hard time) but this Holiday promises to be strained more than it should be. I plan on drinking.
I’m sorry you’re having to deal with a situation like that. It’s too bad that some people don’t realize that the world does not revolve around them.
Yes, it has been one of my favorite gifts! :goodvibes I will cherish it forever.
Things are ok on my end. I found out this morning I need a root canal. The office isn't open on fridays (:confused3) so I'm scheduled for 8am on Monday! I feel a bit bummed, but I'm ready for it to be over with.
WFD: Black bean soup (from Trader Joes), Corn muffins and a green salad.
Ugh, I hope everything goes well for you!
We have some things to take care of this weekend...so it's not going to be the relaxing weekend I had hoped, but only one more week until Christmas break! :cool1:
Don’t run yourself too ragged! You don’t want to be sick on your Christmas vacation!
Popping in to say howdy. The Christmas party went well yesterday. I had really stressed out about it though. I do that when I have to sing more than one song. Anyway, it's over and I can relax now :)
Scott is off today and we are going to our class Christmas party tonight, so no cooking for me.
Have a great time at your party! :wave2:
Morning, all! We had a really fun night, last night! After Alan got home from work, we took the kids to a local place called Thanksgiving Point, for the evening. They were having an ice sculpture contest, visits with Santa, a petting zoo with Santa's reindeer, and live musical entertainment! The kids had a ball with the whole thing. Katie was fascinated by the ice sculpture, and the rest of the kids loved the reindeer! We capped it all off by going to the ice cream parlor, and having a treat. Very fun!
Today is bowling!!! Hooray!!! After that, I'll come home, and do laundry until everyone gets home. Boo!!! Tonight we are driving to a small town nearby that does an incredible Christmas light display. We do this every year, and it really sets the mood for the rest of the season! We'll have dinner before we go, then bundle everyone up for the trip.
Dinner tonight is one I found on pinterest. Lasagna soup. Hope it's yummy! It sure sounded and looked good on the site!
Sounds like you are all having a great time and enjoying the Christmas Season!
morning everyone, I am off from work today, I have the pre-op appointment with my surgeon today..:sick: I feel green already...
I hope everything goes well for you. I know it probably makes you pretty queasy, but at least you are taking care of it and at the Jamborini meet you will feel much better. :hug:
It hasn't yet. I've had an infection in my teeth before and I have a gland in my chin that gets puffy when that happens and it is fine. I am hoping to make it to January when my new FAS kicks in, I am already paid out for this year.
So sorry about that, nothing is worse that tooth pain, It can really put a damper on your mood.
WFD - Going out for some seafood, been craving oysters!
Oooooh I want some oysters too! I might have to wait until our trip to Las Vegas.
I survived the wisdom teeth removal! I had it done at my dentist; all mine were "up" but all had broken off in pieces. One was actually completely flat with the gum :sad2:
So glad that you survived the wisdom teeth surgery. I had mine done when I was in High School and I’m so glad that I don’t have to deal with it as an adult.
Do you have any of that venison left in your freezer? What about something with some chicken? I always keep boneless breasts in my freezer individually frozen, they thaw quickly and you can make tons with them, Chicken stir fry, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Florentine, Parmigiana…the list goes on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Whew! What a week! Every day I’ve had one of my cleaning people here. The cleaning lady and I have been digging the house out since Saturday when we found out the cat nazi would be coming to do an inspection. We only have 2 areas of the house left to go. We had one bedroom that was one of “those” rooms, you know the one that you put everything in when you don’t know what to do with it. I can’t believe how much stoopid stuff that we had in that room. :lmao: Now the bed is completely clear, most of the floor is visible and I came home from dropping off the cleaning lady to find two cats asleep on the newly unearthed bed!

We also got Fran signed up for Medicare today. She applied for disability at the beginning of this year and got accepted in April so her Medicare kicks in in January. I can’t BELIEVE how much money we are going to save! Probably $25,000 on medication and $400 a month on insurance premiums! :thumbsup2 That medicine I was talking about which is over $1K per dose is only $300 with Medicare!

I was going to get KFC for dinner, but I decided I don’t know want to go back out tonight, so instead I’m going to cheat and have some premade Chicken Cordon Bleu, packaged noodles and sauce and frozen green beans. I know not very creative, but after cleaning the house up all week, I’m tired!

Nice to see you Alison! So glad to hear about Fran's insurance. Sometimes that stuff can be a miracle!

Nice to see you Alison! So glad to hear about Fran's insurance. Sometimes that stuff can be a miracle!

Her medical bills are astronomical! When the nice lady at Blue Cross finished the analysis and said her annual prescription bill would be $3000+ I shrieked. She thought it was a bad shriek, but I was overjoyed! It can cost us $300 for one month of meds if I'm filling both of ours, and the figure she gave me included the uber expensive RA drug.

If only we didn't have all the other expenses that come with our Disney obsession! Between DVC dues, APs and vacant apartments I better count on my cooking skills for the next few months! :rotfl2:

I think once we get the problem of trying to adopt this poor cat out of the way, I will not be so tired and get back into cooking real food again.

Our prescription costs have gone up recently....but nothing compared to yours. Although J used to be on growth meds and those ran thousands. :faint:

And yea....I hear ya' on the Disney costs...:lmao:...that's all I'll say :rolleyes1

Good morning! I hope once I get my last christmas present behing me I can breath. I is amazing how fast time is flying lately.

Tonight is my families christmas party so no cooking for me yeah!

Jen I hope you are feeling better today.

Allison Drug costs are outrageous. I see what the pharmacies charge the insurance companies it would make you faint. Thank God for insurance no matter what kind it helps.

Brandy I hope your surgery goes well. I only had a spinal when I had Mr A and almost flipped out. I worried that I would never feel anything again. Yeah I am a great patient, NOT:upsidedow

Kathy How where those oysters?:sick:

We finally got a dusting of snow yesterday. All traces should be gone by tomorrow:dance3: The weather people said we should see the 50's later this week :confused3. Don't get me wrong I like the lack of snow and cold but what the heck is with our weather?

This is my first time going completely under and I am nervous about it. My DH is a mess....
I'm sorry :( I know it's scary, but I know you'll be ok. I haven't been put under in a long time, but I can remember having nutty dreams while being anesthetized.

Nice to see you Alison! So glad to hear about Fran's insurance. Sometimes that stuff can be a miracle!

Ditto! Good to see you Alison! Hope all is well your way.

To all of you getting snow: BOO HISS! I want some!Last December we were covered in snow Christmas Day and a few days following, but that was it. I LOVED it and want more this year!

Tonight is our church Christmas production. We have a performance at 4 and one at 7. Please pray/think of me. I am kind of dreading this. I'm noticing as I get older, singing like that (long periods of time) kind of makes me stressed. By the end of the night tonight, I am going to have a headache the size of Montana. I don't know why this is. I put in a fresh pair of contacts this morning so maybe that will help with the headaches a bit.

You know, I just realized, I complain a lot! LOL! I don't really mean to. I just consider all of you wonderful people family and I enjoy sharing my life with you. Sorry if my complaining is off-putting! :hippie:

I am eating VERY light today in preparation for tonight, no no real meal to speak of, just some snacking.

Have a great day all!

ETA: Here are some pics of our house last Christmas Day. This was AFTER we left my parent's house early because we didn't know if we were going to be able to get home. We didn't even get to stay for Christmas dinner. It was a total bummer :( On the other hand, it sure was beautiful!

Have fun at your Christmas party! :cool1:

I hope you enjoy your snow. We've been nothing above 40's and then this week we're supposed to get into the 50's and even 60's. :confused3

I'm sorry :( I know it's scary, but I know you'll be ok. I haven't been put under in a long time, but I can remember having nutty dreams while being anesthetized.

Good luck tonight! We'll be thinking of you!

You know, I was just thinking the other day that I complain a lot on here too. I think it's because this is a safe place and all of you garner so much support when I need it. :hug: So, I say...complain away! I'll be right there next to you doing it too! :lmao:

I love your snow pictures. I looooove snow so much...as long as I don't have to drive in it. We don't get much here though. :sad2:

Good morning!!!

We have a bit of running around to do today, and then we're coming home to snuggle in for the rest of the weekend.

Tonight's dinner is honey lime chicken enchiladas ala Aimee. But, I'm also taking out a pork loin for tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :banana:

Happy Saturday morning, all!!!

Alison - It's great to see you posting!!! Congrats on the Medicare to help with pharmacy expenses!!!

Jen - We really liked the lasagna soup! It smelled so good as it was simmering, and the thing that Alan and I liked the best was the mixture of ricotta, parmesan, salt and pepper, that you plopped in the bowl and topped with the soup. It turned into a gooey, cheesy glop that was wonderful!!! I'll post the recipe, if people are interested!

Lindsay - I think Jen's right. We complain here, because it's a safe place. We know that we can say what we need to and no one will yell at us! I know that I do it. Good luck with the singing tonight! I hope the contacts help with the headaches.

Last night was so much fun!!! We drove to Spanish Fork for the Festival of Lights. This is something we've been doing for 5 years now, and really, to me it's not Christmas until we've done it! Well, this year we were in for a surprise! The city has expanded the park, and the light display was bigger and better than ever. However, they didn't change their price, at all! Still 5 dollars per car! What a deal!!!

This morning, Alan and I are heading out for some much needed couple time! Alan has to do a small shoot for work, so he's dropping me off at a store to do some Christmas shopping, and then he'll pick me up there, and we'll spend some time this morning, just being together... just the 2 of us! Later this afternoon, we'll let the kids cut and decorate snowflakes to hang from our ceiling. We are also going to try something new... snowflakes made from flour tortillas then baked with cinnamon sugar. We'll snack on these tonight as we watch a Christmas movie. Can't wait!!!

Don't know about dinner. Gotta wake everyone up and see what people feel like. We may just do something simple like breakfast for dinner.

I'd like the recipe please! That way I don't have to go hunting on Pinterest. :lmao:

Your day sounds wonderful!!!! Enjoy your time with Alan and enjoy your evening with your family! :lovestruc

Its 2 am in Melbourne. I can't sleep.

We've had the biggest lightning and thunder show I've seen and heard in a while....and one of the thunder claps woke me up about 45 minutes ago.

Its just about blown over now and I can still hear the thunder in the distant horizon. Gentle rain is still coming down. We had about an inch of rain in the last hour or less.

Looking out the window, there is a cloud cover. I can't see the sky, stars or the total lunar eclipse that's meant to be happening right now. Its a pity about the cloud cover as there are no more lunar eclipses for us until 2014.

Hope you all have a nice Saturday. Its Sunday here already!
