Ladies - I just got a PM from Maria letting me know that they just found out that they lost one of the twins. She's pretty devastated. She wanted you all to know.

:hug: I'm sorry to read this. I wish Maria the best and I hope that things work out for her, her DH and the other twin.

:hug: for Neverenoughwdw. I'm thinking of you and your family.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, Hallo-weinie dinner is over.
We served these with cheesy worms AKA macaroni. Big C and J were very pleased.
They both elected to forgo Halloween candy in favor of Halloween prizes. J got a new video game and Big C asked for a "Train" cd. :goodvibes I had to get them a bit of candy though. :rolleyes1
We'll make our wrapped corpses/jalapeno poppers later to have during our movie night! :goodvibes
:hug: all around. Hope all you cold Northeasterners stay warm and dry!
For those of you new to our thread/family, Maria and her husband Greg have been trying to have children for years. For medical reasons, it's not possible, and they've tried adoption numerous times, but have been really spat upon by the adoption system here and abroad. Finally, they found a surrogate, and they were so happy when she became pregnant with twins. Please keep the surrogate and the surviving twin in your prayers. I don't know what it will do to Maria and Greg if things go wrong!
I know that miracles can happen with twins! My DH, Alan, was a twin, but his sister passed away in utero, but Alan was carried successfully to term. So, it can happen. We just have to unite in prayer or good thoughts for them! All positive energy!
This is very sad. I will keep them in my thoughts and hope the surviving twin is safe and healthy.
Lindsay - Stay healthy and I hope your voice recovers soon! :hug:
Nancy - That's insane! I don't know what I would do if I saw my tires rolling past me on the road. I want to see these pictures!
Jen - I don't know what you wrapped those dogs with, but you inspired me. I haven't had any desire to eat lately (that's why I ordered the chinese because at least I would want to eat that, but the last two meals have been Chinese so I needed something else. I've been dying to have crescent dogs, and mac & cheese sounded just right. I wanted creamed spinach and there is only one market that sells frozen creamed spinach any more (not making it tonight from scratch) and that's Bristol Farms (puts whole paychecks to shame). I was too lazy to go to the regular market so I bought everything there. $28 for cresents, dogs, mac n cheese, creamed spinach, ice cream and a cream cheese brownie chunk! :scared1: Oh yeah and a couple gourmet salted milk caramels conveniently placed at the checkout which weren't in my bag when I got into the house. :rolleyes1 Anyways, thanks for the inspiration at least I'll eat tonight!
Glynis - That SIL definitely needs a chat!
Aimee - so glad the Xray came back with good news!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well I said above WFD! Fran is improving. I didn't do so well this morning, I got her all hooked up and there was no drip! I had to call the poor nurse and he came over within the hour and got her going again. We're gonna get started at 8:30 tonight. Tomorrow he's going to draw her blood and then we might change the frequency of the medication based on her blood saturation rate.

I'm going to check in on few more threads and then take a bath and a nap!

I used crescent rolls! It was an idea I found on pinterest, which is like my internet crack lately for recipes. :lmao:

And that store sounds right up our alley! I'm a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's addict, so your shopping mecca sounds perfect!

So glad Fran is improving. So sorry you had difficulty with the darn medical equipment today.

And I'm glad I inspired you to eat! You need to not neglect yourself! You know, sometimes you just need simple food like pigs in a blanket and mac and cheese! :teeth:

Aimee - I'm glad you've finally gotten the all-clear! Now just keep looking after yourself and I hope the rib feels better.

Nancy - I hope Buddy is okay and the truck is too. It must have been a complete shock all round. :hug:
enjoy your dinner at the club!

Glynis - I hope you have that talk with your SiL quickly! And I hope it gets resolved and sorted out to your satisfaction.

Alison - look after yourself!

Jen - we call that Pigs in Blanket here. Been a while since I've had any....:rolleyes:

Well...this afternoon, I'm heading out to go to the American Women's Association Trunk or Treating event. It's a fund raiser for the Royal Children's Hospital and I decided to officially attend; rather than stalk. Naturally I need a picture for the photo Scav Hunt that is Halloween Related and what my "local neighbourhood" Halloween celebration looks like. We don't do Halloween in Oz the way you do it over there.

We have to decorate our car trunk (or boot as we call it over here) with Halloween decorations and the kids go Trunk or Treating from car boot to car boot. We also have to provide 250+ individually wrapped candy (or lollies) to hand out. DS is looking forward to it. We're all doing a "little" dress-up for the event. I'm just going to wear...black! But it's doing rain showers outside this morning and I'm thinking of heading out to get some fish net stockings to go with my black. It might actually be cold today.

I hope to have pictures to share in the next day or so.

WFDT? The AWA Truck or Treat is promising pizza. We'll see how it goes.

Bristol Farms is an amazing store, everything is overpriced but they have a wonderful cooked items section, bakery, sushi chef, meat and seafood counter. The sell Prime beef (at prime prices :rotfl2:), their produce is stellar and the frozen items that they have are things you wouldn't find anywhere else. They stock Godiva chocolates and have a whole section of gourmet chocolates and coffees, and the wine section! Don't even get me started! They even had Texas Chocolate Cake, but it had nuts on the top so I got the nut free option instead.

I'm "supposed" to be on a diet, but that just makes me not want to eat anything, so I decided it's better to eat badly and comforting than not at all. I want to go take my bath and nap, but I'm waiting on two people to come by here before I can go.

Someone also asked earlier if we had any family close by that we could lean on, but no we don't. We only have our friends to rely on, and we really don't have that many close ones. :sad1: If I can get this nap, I'll feel a whole lot better.

I hope your visitors get there soon so you can rest! Don't answer this post! :lmao: I'm just kidding ya'.

Bristol Farms sounds wonderful. You had me at sushi chef. :love:

I'm the first person to support a friend with their healthy eating. But, I'm also the first person to say that maybe you have other things to focus on right now, and don't be hard on yourself. It's more important that you're feeding your body! And if you need some comfort food, that's perfectly fine!

Enjoy your pigs in a blanket!

We call them pigs in a blanket too. We just renamed them to mummy dogs for Halloween! :goodvibes

Have fun today! (well, tomorrow because it's Saturday here, but it's today there. Ohhhh, you know what I mean! :lmao:)

Morning, all! I'm posting with practically no voice this morning. The good news is a I feel much better though, lol. I boo booed on my other post, it wasn't a shot of Doxycyline I got, it was Decadron. I don't know what I thinking. Anyway, except for my voice and coughing first thing in the morning, I am doing much better.

We are going out today after church. Not sure where yet.

Ladies - I just got a PM from Maria letting me know that they just found out that they lost one of the twins. She's pretty devastated. She wanted you all to know.
I'm so sorry to hear this :sad2:

:hug: Glad you're feeling better! Still rest that voice!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm not awake yet. :lmao:
Today's dinner is Le Cellier's cheddar cheese soup. :lovestruc It's chilly out, and it will be perfect for today. I've made this several times and it's one of our favorite recipes.
We're going to try to sit down and watch the new POTC today. We finally got to the 3rd one last night on our marathon.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
Hope everyone is well.
Lindsay rest so you will get well.
Alison I. Am glad fran is doing better.
I have carmel frapucino cupcake in the oven no idea what else we are eating today.;)
Morning everyone.. :wave2:
Lindsay, hope you get to feeling better fast!
Alison, :hug:
I cooked eggs over light this morning and toasted up the left over Pork Schnitzel and served it for breakfast....
I am hoping to bake the pumpkin brad today, i am hoping it will heat up the house without me having to turn the heat on.... I am still in shock over the snow yesterday.:scared1:
WFD? I have no idea... I have planned my menu for the week, but I don't know which night will be what, I have to feel it.... Maybe after I do laundry I can figure it out...:rotfl:
New England boiled dinner at 12:30 or 1ish... then we'll just "pick" at leftovers during the football game!
Hi All! Just wanted to pop in say say hi. I hope all of you that are experiencing the ill affects of the snow storm are safe. We had some snow but it is already gone. I also hope everyone not feeling well is getting better by the day!
We went to our neighbors halloween party last night and our costumes and my white trash party mix was a hit! I dressed in a toga as a greek godess and Tom was a zombie. I did his make up and it came out awesome. We are going to his boss' house later for another party.
Here is a recipe for white trash that I kind of go by. I am telling you, this mix always gets raves and it is super easy. Kids and adults love it!
White Trash Snack Mix
I used Bugles (these are the best in this!), life cereal, pretzels, tortillas, M&Ms, mixed nuts, candy corn.
I am making meatballs and sausage with marinara in the crock tomorrow to have heros after trick or treating. I hope you all enjoy!
Lindsay - Sorry about your voice, take it easy!
Jen - Again you've inspired me, I have everything to make that soup and since I didn't get it Thursday at F&W maybe it would be good to make for tonight. I've made it a few times before too. It's really good. :goodvibes What are we having for dinner tomorrow night? :rotfl2:
Sounds like everyone has some great stuff going!
Tomorrow, UncleR is making us gigantic baked potatoes with all of the fixings. And the lucky ones (me) may get a cup of leftover soup. :teeth:
Question: Why do Mondays sneak up on you so fast? :headache:
Ladies - I just got a PM from Maria letting me know that they just found out that they lost one of the twins. She's pretty devastated. She wanted you all to know.
I'm sorry to hear that. :hug:
There are places here where they do Trunk or Treat too and it is becoming more popular.
Yesterday was horrid. I went to my godsons game, not sure what I was thinking. It was freezing cold, raining , sleeting, windy and snowing. :cold: The visiting team bleachers didn't have steps going up into the seats and were so low that sitting down a person would have to be 4 rows up to see above the players on the sidelines. :confused: I only went up 2 because it was so slick. I got there after the game started, they started early, and got there just in time to see my godson tackle someone and go sliding out the side of the field in a sheet of water. :scared1:
To even get to the field I had to walk with the umbrella in front of me and had to hope I didn't run into anyone or thing. I spent most of the game with the umbrella all the way to one side with blankets wrapped around my legs and another umbrella over them. Thankfully they ended the game at the end of the 3rd quarter. By then my toes and fingers were in pain, I can only imagine how cold those poor babies were.
Dinner tonight will be Hawaiian Pulled Chicken and asparagus.
I just can't do white chocolate. I wonder what I could substitute...hmmmmm...
I vote for Dark Chocolate....
Tomorrow, UncleR is making us gigantic baked potatoes with all of the fixings. And the lucky ones (me) may get a cup of leftover soup. :teeth:
We do this and then pour chili over them...hmmm maybe dinner tonight......:confused3
Question: Why do Mondays sneak up on you so fast? :headache:
I have no idea but when you figure it out please let me know.....:scared1:
