Everything was going fine until time to draw blood, I am sitting there talking to the woman, and she pricks, and the vial is filling up and the next thing I know I am on the ground and people are calling my name and rubbing my face with a cold rag....

Passed out... Right there int he Dr office. out cold on the floor...

How awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You okay now?

So, I made an appt at the local beauty school and after the movie, had them wash and dry it. I tell you what; if I was independantly wealthy, I'd pay someone to wash and dry my hair everyday. What a treat! And my hair - which is really long and thick - looks great!

I would love that! I always almost fall asleep when I am getting my hair washed :goodvibes

I have some exciting news on this end, my best friend is expecting! She's due in July and I'm thrilled! I will live vicariously through her.

How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wizard:

I finally figured out DH's Christmas present today. :cool1:

I guess I can officially say that my Christmas presents are all DONE! :banana:

Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still trying to figure out Kady's. Everything but one Yankee exchange gift is done and one more thing for Marisa and Jeff. I bought them a gift but after Marisa was telling me that she saw one in the store but thought it was not as nice as the one she was giving as a gift.............well it is going back:headache:

Kady honestly does not want much so it is really hard to buy her the big gift from us. Oh well, the idea will come.

My soup was really good laast night. I had it with fresh Italian bread adn butter. Buddy tasted it, said it was really good, made some turkey sandwiches and skipped the soup:dance3:

It's not easy being Green.

Why? Is the camera Green?

Was this whilst you were feeling Green?

Are either of the cookies Green?

:rolleyes1

It ain't easy being green...

I finally figured out DH's Christmas present today. :cool1:

And it was so unexpected! I walked into a houseware gift shop today...just down the road from where I live and when I was walking past the counter, the owner was talking to one of his workers. He was showing her and telling her about the great deal that he found on some glass teapots. The teapot normally retails at $50....and the supplier had some 'spare' replacement glass inserts they were trying to get rid of. The replacement glass normally retails at $20.
So the owner negotiated a deal....both the teapot and the insert....for $20. The teapot is a 1 litre size. I nabbed me a set straightaway!

DH has been drinking a bit of herbal tea lately and whilst we do have teapots, they are hard to clean. So, he doesn't bother. This glass teapot has straight sides, dishwasher proof and has its separate mesh tea basket that can be taken out for easy cleaning as well.

In addition, I went to a teashop....got some herbal tea and a single spoon tea strainer as well.

I also walked into the men's clothing store down that strip of shops. They were having sales on summer hats and I found one in the size and style that DH likes. It was also under $25.

So, I'm done for DH. Everything is wrapped and under the tree.

Also got me some Top Gear stuff for DS's friend....he's car crazy. And got a little gift for the Kris Kringle.

I guess I can officially say that my Christmas presents are all DONE! :banana:

:cool1:

Jen - Kris Kringle is a gift exchange. I guess you might call it Secret Santa? The kids all pulled names out of a hat....and didn't tell who they got. They have to get a gift to the value of $5, wrap it and bring it to school with the recipient's name on it. On the pre-determined day, the teacher gets to hand out the stash. Everyone gets a gift but doesn't know who it's come from.

Enjoy your last couple of days. It's Friday here tomorrow....so I'll be thinking of you.

WFDT? We ended up with sushi and okonomiyaki for dinner. We also made a big bowl of salad with the lettuce from the garden. I think I ate more salad than anything else. I'm determined to be good with my food intake....I've gained enough weight this year and want to lose the unwanted kilos!

Tomorrow is a work day...so I'll probably be catching up on your news during night shift again. Have a good day all.

princess::upsidedow

I'm so jealous of your sushi. :laughing:

We're doing a Secret Santa at work tomorrow. I still need a gift. :rolleyes1

Is Yankee exchange like Secret Santa? Why do I not know these terms? Maybe Texas really is another world...:lmao:

We're having the soup next week! :woohoo:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm so tired, I can hardly wait to get home from work tomorrow.
I didn't go shopping yesterday so I have to do that today to get my Secret Santa gift exchange gift for tomorrow. Then, I have to cook after work today for my office snack day tomorrow.
I have one group of kids today and then I'll be billing and doing paperwork all day. :headache:
Tonight's dinner is grilled cheese and tomato soup.
Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
Morning, all!
I made enough hamburger steaks to have leftovers today. I am cleaning the house so I won't have time to cook.
Passed out... Right there int he Dr office. out cold on the floor...
Eek! I'm so sorry! I would have been embarrassed, too! (Psst, my husband is fixed, too!)
Jen- A Yankee Gift Exchange is like a Secret Santa but no one pulls names, Everyone who wants to participate brings a wrapped gift and then numbers for everyone are placed in a bowl. You pick a number and then everyone can take a turn to choose a gift in numerical order. Here's where the fun begins and every group can make their own rules for snatching a gift from someone else if they like. If person #2 likes the gift #1 chose they can take that gift and #1 needs to choose again. As the gifts are opened everyone can have a chance to steal a gift from someone else if they want.
I will never forget the year someone (I think Marisa) took Meme's gift thinking she would not like it. It was not pretty :lmao::lmao:
That's what we're doing for work tomorrow!!! And maybe Marisa needs to tell us that story!! :lmao:
My mother called the other day and she told me that they had one of these exchanges at her Poodle Club meeting (don't ask). She said that they told everyone they had to leave early and she and my step-father were given #1 and #2. They got their gifts and people were just getting ready to snatch one from my step-father when they announced they had to leave. Apparently, poodle people can be very nasty when you mess with their gift exchange game. :laughing:
Morning, all! I'm trying really hard to wake up, but it's not going so well. All I want to do is head back to bed!
PIO - The candy is coming along ok. My peanut brittle turned out good and fast! Since my kids love it, I'll probably end up making some more. I spiced some pecans with a new recipe, and they really didn't "do it" for me! They needed something else. Not sure if I'll play around with the recipe, or just go on to something else. Up today, caramels and pretzel candy.
Jen - Don't forget to let me know how the cookie brittle is, ok? I'm really interested in that!
I'm pretty much done with shopping. I still need some stuff for Timmy, but I'm hoping to be able to knock that out pretty quickly this weekend. Luckily, he's still so little I could give him an empty box and he'd be happy!
Not sure about dinner tonight. I just found a recipe for bacon and tomato macaroni and cheese that sounds really good, only several of my children despise cooked tomatoes, and one of them hates bacon. Hmmm. Guess I'll have to look around for more inspiration!
lindsay,
just wanted to say "Thank You" again for making it so easy to find the recipes in the Index....
I wanted to find something that I remembered on here awhile back and went to first page and there it was...
Worked like a charm...
Thanks again,
I was doing the walk of shame out of there, I was so embarrassed:sad2:
Don't be embarrassed! It happens all the time with blood draws. I've passed out before too.
I finally figured out DH's Christmas present today. :cool1:I guess I can officially say that my Christmas presents are all DONE! :banana:
That teapot sounds cool! Lucky you, not only done shopping, but done wrapping! I am impressed!
Oooh...I just realised that I didn't share my breakfast food porn from the weekend with 3D friends.
Fantastic photos! Did you cook all that, or are these pictures of restaurant food?
You have a child that hates bacon??? :eek: Inconceivable!! :laughing:
WFD: I am going over to Laura's and we are ordering Indian food.
What great deals for your DH!
Aimee - Sorry about your flat tyre. Hope it's properly fixed! Did you like the Muppets?
Your hairdressing took me back to my childhood. My mum used to go to the hairdresser 3 times a week when we lived in Asia. Times were simpler then and hairdressing was cheap. She used to go and have a wash and set....I don't think I ever remember seeing my mother wash her own hair until we moved to Australia!
To say I liked the Muppets would be a huge understatement. I loooooooooooooooooooved it. We saw it over Thanksgiving and I couldn't wait to see it again. Mom and I laughed through the whole thing. SO GOOD!!
I wish it were cheaper to have hair done! They charged me extra for mine due to length :sad1:
Today is our all staff XMas party - I am trying out a new recipe on them (:laughing:) and it's a baked butternut squash pasta casserole.
We didn't end up eating the smoked chicken last night but I tasted it and it's delish. I'm making the spinach and artichoke mac and cheese to go with it.
::yes::
Forgive me for not getting caught up with everyone here. I'm completely brain dead. All these days of staying home and being glued to the computer are killing me. I need some 3D human interaction, which I will be getting starting later today.
Right now I'm stocking up on large meats for the freezer. Hams are on sale for less than $1 per pound, Roast Beef is under $5 pp. Fran might even go out later today with me since most stores have a limit of one. Thinking meatballs and mushroom sauce for dinner. Easy comfort food.
David just loves it when I make him buy stuff at the limit too...
WFD - The smothered pork chops....
So I had an appt. with my GP today to do all of the blood work, and have a general exam before my surgery...
Everything was going fine until time to draw blood, I am sitting there talking to the woman, and she pricks, and the vial is filling up and the next thing I know I am on the ground and people are calling my name and rubbing my face with a cold rag....
oh well, they move me back to the chair, make me site there and drink a soda, a real one, which I have not had in ages.... and then when I have color back, they let me go...
I was doing the walk of shame out of there, I was so embarrassed:sad2:
:hug:
Have a dinner meeting tonight with some yummy food. The next two and a half days are going crazy. Tonight the meeting, work tomorrow then shopping with my BFF and then we are picking up her DS from the airport, coming home for the 1st time from college.
Saturday I am going to ANOTHER swim meet, this time for the little one, then taking her shopping while her sister is at her basketball game. Sunday I am working on Christmas stuff. Monday, I think I will nap under my desk! :rotfl:
Well, our dinner plans changed. Alan has to go to one of the local universities to return some books he checked out, and so we decided to pile all the kids in the car and take them with us. Once we're done at the library, we'll head to the Creamery. This University makes the most creamy, delicious ice cream, so we are going to treat the kids to a Christmas ice-cream treat! I think they'll be really excited.
So, dinner is going to be chicken tortilla soup I got at Costco this morning.
I have spent the afternoon wrapping presents, and found that I'm only short 2 presents. One for Timmy and one for Jacob. Alan and I will knock those presents out really quickly on our date Saturday, and I will be done. Of course, I now have to charge up the MP3 players we got for a couple of the kids, and load Katie's Kindle. But that I can do once the kids go to bed. They are out of school for the rest of December starting tomorrow afternoon, so I'm going to have to be more crafty. I really need to go through the stocking stuffers that I have and begin to separate them to make the whole process easier on Christmas Eve. Alan doesn't ever help... other than to make sure that kids stay in their beds. He just doesn't like the whole "making magic" aspect of the holiday. However, he's really good at filming the magic on Christmas morning, so I'll forgive him. Truth be told, I'd rather just do it myself, as I have a picture in my head of how I want things to look, and he'd really just mess it all up!
I know, right? I'm beginning to think she's a changeling the faeries left me.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Update for dinner! There was a sale on Dungeness Crabs when I bought my Rib Roasts and Half Ham. The only thing is that for that price, they wouldn't clean it for me. I'll be a big girl. A whole crab for about $6, I can't complain.

Glynis I am not sure if Mr A is mine sometimes either. If he wasn't the only baby in the nursery that day I would think someone left theirs and took mine.:rotfl2:

WFD is jambalaya

We went from mid 50's to 35 degrees in just 1 day.:sad2:
