Hi everyone! With the slow DIS and Fran running me all over, not much time to get on here. We've been ripping out plants, trimming fruit trees, visiting nurseries, and we still have to deal with licensing the cats and bringing in Pascha's clearance to be alive!.

Nancy, so sorry you have to go through all that crap! It's bad enough taking care of sick in-laws without having the courts involved and nasty relatives.

Hope everyone else is doing good and they fix this mess so we can all get on and chat like normal!

It's nearly 8PM and I'm sitting in Lowe's with a basket full of plants waiting for Fran to finish shopping. We are in a large shopping complex with at least six full service restaurants, a food court and multiple fast food places. I just hope we end up somewhere with a bar! I would really like a Martini or Margarita right now, but I would settle for a glass of wine.

Tomorrow will be a long day too. We have to finish cleaning up the yard and then plant these plants!

Edited: We are at Islands, Bacon Burger, fries onion rings and fish tacos.

Alison I am so glad to hear that you and Fran are running around as much as you, that is great.... I am longing for the day I can spend more than 30 minutes in an upright position.

Hope you enjoyed your bacon burger and got something good to drink!

MOrning!!!! Happy Feb 1st... sounds like everyone is doing well - healing and feeling better!! Yay!!!

WFD -Pancakes, chocolate chip and blueberry. Bacon. Fresh Fruit, bananas and strawberries

Actually the plan changed a bit - I still had pancakes (apple cinnamon) and bacon, Hubs had a pastrami sandwich and chips, DS had 2 egg and cheese sandwiches bacon, and Monkey Bread and DD had French Toast, bacon, a sausage patty and grapefruit.

morning everyone!!!!!

We are doing well, tonight is tacos... I can stand long enough to brown the beef and add the seasoning.

:lmao:

that is great Danielle - small steps.. :hug:

Nancy - I know I am new here but one of the reasons I love these boards is because everyone is caring and here for you if you need a ear or two or two hundred of them.. Keep your chin up and I hope it gets better for you sooner vs. later..

Oops WFD.... Tonight is Turkey cutlets in the crockpot with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce and rolls.

Nancy - Oh, sweetheart! What a rough day you and Buddy had! I'm so sorry that things got ugly, but on the upside, you knew they would so, emotionally, you were prepared. I'm amazed, but not surprised that Buddy (and you) have stepped in here. Even though I've never met either of you, in person, I feel like I've grown to know you over the years, and you are 2 of the most loving people in the world. I will continue to pray for you, Buddy and his mom, that things will go well with all of this. I'll also cross my fingers that you can get the estate away from his sister.

Jen - I loved your blog post about the sausage. You almost make me want to try my own. Maybe I will, for patties. I just don't think I could stomach the stuffing part. I have real sensory issues!

Well, today is the day. I get 5 extra kids starting at 2:00 this afternoon. According to the schedule my SIL sent over, though, it shouldn't be too hard. The older 3 are all involved with school plays and Winter Guard, so they won't be around much. That leaves the 2 little ones. I'll just have to keep them busy!

Dinner tonight will be baked cream cheese spaghetti... again. I know we just had it, but it's fast, easy, yummy, and I can make a whole LOT! I'm making it with Italian sausage and the Philadelphia cream cheese baking sauce this time. I'll let y'all know how that goes.

I won't be on much the rest of today, as I have to finish my book for club tonight. I got through half of it yesterday, so I need to finish it up. Good thing it's interesting and reads quickly!

Oh, just me, again, popping in to drop some news! It's not set in stone, yet, so I need you all to cross your fingers for me.

Alan is on a VERY short list of photographers from his news station to be sent to London to cover the Olympics this summer. This means he'll be gone from July 20 to August 12, approximately. We were talking last night, and, if things run true to form, they'll send him to London a week early to set up equipment, scope out venues, etc. If that's the case, Alan wants to use his frequent flyer miles to bring me to London for a week with him. This would be amazing! We've always talked about doing this, but have never been able to afford it. The kids are old enough that we could farm them out with relatives and not worry (mostly about Timmy). We never had a real honeymoon, so this would be a dream come true!!!

Please cross your fingers, toes, eyes, whatever that he is chosen, and that we can swing this! I would LOVE to go to London with him, and just relax without the kids!

Thanks!

Nancy :hug: wow what a difficult situation! You and Buddy are amazing for stepping up. I can only imagine how hard it must be. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and pryares. Hugs and strength to you.

Glynis--that would be so awesome if you get to go to London! And at such an exciting time too! Have you been there before? I just know how much you love Shakespeare and to be able to see the theater and maybe a play or two...that would be so amazing for you! I really hope it works out!

I changed dinner last night and made roasted shrimp in a tomato-fennel-feta sauce. It was OK, but I don't think I would make it again. Any type of cheese with fish is not my favorite. I did enjoy the sauce on its own and might make it without the shrimp as a topping for pasta or bread. Here is a picture:

I have been to London before. I went several times in college, when I was working. I also went 4 years ago with Katie. My dad paid for that trip. Alan has never been to London, so I'd love to go and show him around. Even if he won't have much free time, there's a ton there for me to do by myself. It's so easy to get around London, that I would have a ball!

Good morning! Thanks for letting me vent, I was having a rough time.

Glynis- I am so excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let us know!

I am sick today so dinner is whatever Buddy can find in the fridge. I am having a cracker. BBL

That's a lot of people eating one bull! ;)

Yes and from what people told me it was very good bull too! :thumbsup2

For some reason I never made it over to get any. :confused:

Okay. Yesterday we went to court to gain conservator of Buddy's Mom's person. We think we should have gotten conservator of her estate as well because this is going to be a nightmare but :confused3

:hug:

Crossing my eyes would give me a headache but I think I can manage the rest. ;) Sounds great, hope he, and you, get to go.

Not sure what I am having for dinner tonight. I have salmon out but am not sure if it's still good. It's the kind in the sealed package so we'll see.

I am making Sausage and Swiss Chard soup tonight to bring to work tomorrow. I have been promising my coworkers I would and one of them keeps whining about it. :rotfl: If I have the time and energy I may make peanut butter cake too.

I have some real sensory issues too! I mean it! It wasn't bad at all.

We love the cream cheese spaghetti too! :lovestruc

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good evening!
I got my hair CHOPPED today. I needed it so bad! I feel 10 pounds lighter.
Tomorrow's Friday and we're having a "Best Chocolate" recipe luncheon. I don't like chocolate, so I'm going against the grain and making a pineapple sheet cake. :lmao:
UncleR brought us home sushi for dinner after she was out today. I am so happy I can barely stand it!
Y'all have a good Friday and :hug: all around.
Hi all,
This will have to be a very quick fly by. I hope to catch up with all of you later. I am really getting scared about this storm coming in to the Plains. We have started out with a Winter Weather Advisory, that soon changed to a Winter Storm Warning, then to a Blizzard Watch to now we are in a Blizzard Warning. They are saying upwards to 15 inches of snow. Which in and of itself is major, but it is to start raining tomorrow morninng then turn to snow with winds between 35 - 50 mph, which are white out conditions. Whth a wet heavy snow and the wind I just hope we keep electricity. Living on a farm, if you have no electricity that also means no water. It gets a little hard to use the bathroom, stay warm, cook, let alone get into town if we do lose electricity. But our main concern is getting water to the cattle. As long as they can drink water they will be alright. And of course Doug is on call this week so this all may fall on me. I am getting all of my work done at the office today so I may just stay home tomorrow. Wish us luck and a few prayers would really be appreciated.
I hope to get some baking and cooking done this weekend to get my freezer full of easy peasy meals. I love to be in my kitchen where it is warm when it is snowing. We shall see how that goes.
WFDT ~ Beef stew (in the crockpot), 9 grain bread (in the bread machine) with cantalope jam.
Make it a great day all!!
I'm sending prayers your way. Here's hoping the storm isn't as bad as they are predicting! Did you make the jam yourself? I'd love a recipe, if you've got one!
