Ok I am back and going to try to catch up with all of you wonderful friends.

Lauren ~Way to go Lady on the weight loss. You rock :cool1:

Sheryl ~ I have been popping in every once in awhile on FB and OH MY GOODNESS that baby Jude is precious.
Good luck on the root canal. I am also one that the proceedure never hurt just the bad pain before it was done. Praying for a pain free time.

Kat ~ I am over the moon for Kyle. That is wonderful news. I hope this is just what he wants. Good for him!!

Ok all it is 4:00 and I am headed to the grocery store and home where it is cool. Have a good night my friends.

How big is your freezer? He would be shark bait in my house.;);)

Ellen:banana::banana: Congrats to Stephanie. Of course she says now she wants it to be a surprise, we will see. ;)

Nancy Look at the website I found http://www.skinnytaste.com/ interesting recipes with WW points:thumbsup2 Of course the ice cream recipe found me.:rolleyes1

Tonight is fish tacos cause I am not sticking my nose outside again. It is too warm. I am not sure if I should pray for rain since it seems a gentle rain is not in anyone vocab lately.:upsidedow

Thanks y'all.:grouphug:

WFD - Smoked ham, gruyere and caramelized onion frittata, hash browns, maple bacon and wheat biscuits.

Wednesday night and dinner at mum's. We cut the 4th and last birthday celebration 'cake' tonight.
You've already seen the cupcakes....I'll get round to posting them all in the next couple of days! I don't wanna see another cake for a looooooong time....(tomorrow is long enough).

Will try and catch up on all the news shortly. Another busy day tomorrow; plus DH and I just sat down to compare social engagements for the weekend. *sigh* We so need to be able to read each other's minds! We've completely booked ourselves out between the two calendars.

OH MY GOODNESS. . . . that sounds wonderful. What time is dinner I will be there.

Vickie ~ Well no I haven't said anything to anyone about F & W as I didn't know if it would work. At dinner last night I popped it to Doug and we both got really excited - We were planning October 12 - 19. We were so excited, it has been 2 1/2 years since we have been back. I so wanted to meet some of you. Well I took off for my walk and suddenly realized that Pastor Tess is on vacation from Oct 7 - 23. So my plans went *poof* real fast. I came back and told Doug and he (and I) were so dissapointed. But we can't both be gone at the same time. Dang nabbit!!! Someday it will happen!!

Janice ~ I don't think Marty and Stephanie will waver on finding out what they are having. They are adament about letting it be a surprise. But so were Jay and Elizabeth, with Ethan, but during one of the routine ultra sounds - well lets just say it was obvious he was a boy. :lmao:

Princess ~ 4 birthday cakes  WOW!! Hope you get your weekend straightned out. Bless your heart!!

Wow, we are having a break in the weather today. The high is to reach only 85 and no wind. With showers predicted. A real nice reprieve.

Doug and I are loving the fruits of the gardens. That is one (of the many) perks of working at the church. Many parishioners bring in their bounty to share. I LOVE IT!!! Yesterday I got zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans and sweet corn. YUM!!!

Well today is the day we should find out the sex of our 2nd grandbaby. Elizabeth and Jay are going to the doctor this afternoon and they have been told that they should be able to see what "it" is. I will keep you informed.

WFDT ~ Grilled BBQ chicken, sweet corn, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers.

Make it a great day everyone.

Drive by posting!! I thought I'd have an easier week but then I realized that Promotion Sunday/Back to School stuff is in 2 weeks! The madness never stops!!!

In all honesty, at night while watching TV I've been doing mindless pinning on Pinterest, my latest addiction. If you want an invite, let me know! I've been getting some great recipes from there lately.

Speaking of recipes... we shopped last night so I'll be cooking some more later this week. The last few nights we've gone out.

And tonight is our anniversary so we have reservations at a fabulous newish restaurant which was named as Bon Appetit's top 10 best new restaurants nationwide. Can't wait!

I'm sure you all know this, but the FD rumor was true! I was on hold for 2.5 hours this morning, finally got through, saved $280.00 AND added a night to my package with the FD promo! :thumbsup2

WFD: Probably something takeout, I need to make groceries tonite..

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Ellen – Wouldn’t it be nice if we all lived close by and could have dinners together! We’d also be able to lend a hand in times of need. Sad you won’t be making it to F&W this year.

Angie – Congrats on getting the Free Dining!

EJ4Disney Congratulations! (x 2!) That’s absolutely wonderful! My cousin and I were born a month and a half apart and we’ve always been best of friends.

HA HA...HA - Bloody HA.... I'll tell ye, that lassie has no idea how lucky she is that she is ower the water.

I'd have just about died! :faint: So glad everything worked out o.k.

When it rains it pours, but in a good way this time. Kyle has been unemployed for over a month and got two job offers over the weekend. He went to orientation for one this morning and has first contact with the other early next week. Whichever one is the most flexible and willing to work around his classes and baseball will be the one.:goodvibes

Good for him! I hope one is the perfect fit for him.

WFDT: Chicken Pot Pie with Coconut Cake for dessert. Dessert will be much more pretty than dinner because we've got old friends coming into town late tonight. What's makes this visit even better is they're leaving their puppy with us for the next month! :yay: How sad is it that I'm ecstatic about having a second big black dog running around the house?

Chipmunk congrats on the visiting puppy.

WFD is loaded crash potatoes I somehow have a large supply of potatoes which in this heat doesn't make for a happy me. I kept smelling something off but could not figure it out then I finally traced it to a bad potato:faint: and chicken

Hi Friends! Remember me? I think I have been away for weeks and weeks. So sorry, I've been fine, just so very, very busy.

I have been cleaning and cleaning, canning and canning, and more cleaning. We are about a year into our kitchen project (if you are on FB you can see our pictures) and we still aren't quite done. It is very usable, thankfully, but a lot of the finish work needs, well, finishing. Plus it has affected the laundry room and computer room. I still don't have a desk area built yet, so my 10' island has the bad habit of collecting the mail. Plus my husband has his own business and there is so much extra paper....

Any way, I have a good friend coming with her 2 year old for a visit this weekend and that is why the frantic cleaning to just get it presentable...

On top of that my tomatoes are coming in, so I've canned salsa and bruschetta. I can't believe how long it takes to cut them...

So that is where I have been hiding. I took 2 weeks off from work to work at home...I have lots more to do, but soon I get to visit with my good, good friend.

I hope to catch up with you all soon and read up on your cooking and other shenanigans... I miss you all.

WFD: hubby made beef stroganoff.....

Well on Sunday at the family dinner Stephanie (and Marty) announced that they are pregnant also. :yay: :dance3: We are thrilled!! They are due in March. So she is about 7 weeks along. Feeling ok at this point, so I hope it is an easy one. !

Congratulations.

I'm telling you all, I cannot wait for mid-September. :headache: So much to do now with school less than a month away. And to top it all off they are cleaning the carpets here at my office next weekend which means getting EVERYTHING but the office furniture off the floors. Between my co-admin and I we have 40 file boxes lining the hallway here plus 4 boxes of uniforms and other stuff that has to go to storage. I am trying to get as much done as I can in the next 5 work days so I can get my part out of here, then we will only have to find space for her file boxes. Her stuff can't go out until after the floors are done. :headache:

I was supposed to be going away for a few days to the beach with my sister, bff and the 3 little kids, but we are thinking of changing it to day trips. Less cost and I can stay here to get stuff done if needed.

Haven't cooked much more than scrambled eggs this week. Not sure what is for dinner tonight, may just throw a pizza in the oven or throw noodles or gnocchi in and have it with jarred sauce.

Oh, DN's did well in their swim meet. Oldest one came in first in all her events. Yearly my dsis takes a picture of her with her ribbons for the summer, this year she has all blue's (1st place) and got a trophy for winning the most points for the team. And they do a Cyber Meet where they put all the top times for all the swimmers in their county and she got 1st in three events, 2nd in one and 4th in another. :woohoo:

Little one got 14th and 20th in her two events and ended up taking seconds off her best times. :yay:

I'd be thrilled too!!!!

You have been missed, my friend!

Congratulations to the girls, they did great!:cheer2: I hate when office cleaning/painting time comes around, it truly is a major headache.

Catching up!

Lindsay - Inquiring minds wanna know. How did the homemade ice cream go?

Lauren - Hope the allergies have settled down and you're feeling better.

Vickie - How's the boy going? Does FD apply to your trip?

Jen - Great Wolf? I'm jealous. Which one did you get to? Hope your back is feeling better.

Sheryl - It's Thursday here, which means Wednesday night in the US. Hope the root canal went okay. I've had 2 teeth needing root canal and they were painless. Just pain before the treatment! :headache:

Nancy - I'm following your updates on Otto and Debbie. Hope Otto responds well to treatment.

Ellen - Double Congratulations! Hope both pregnancies and births are trouble-free.

Angie - Congrats on FD and the extra night. Have you worked out what blissful bites you're going to partake in? I understand the stand menus are out.

Julie - Long time between posts! Hope you get some rest in between your very busy schedule.

Marilyn - You sound busy too. Your DSis must be very proud of her girls. Are we likely to see them at an Olympics any time soon?

Kat - Hope you're well.

WFDT - We're having baked jacket potatoes with the trimmings. I suggested the smashed potatoes to DS and he looked at me like I'd grown two heads. I guess I might save that one for a side dish with a meal sometime.

I'm planning on heading to the Vic Market this weekend. I have to get a picture that is Clambake related for the Photo scavenger hunt. So, I'm going to get some ingredients, set it up for My Starting Ingredients shot and then turn it into clam or seafood chowder. I've googled and think I'll be doing my normal mashing of two or three recipes....but does anyone have a good recipe for seafood chowder?

I also need a shot of Fish Cake. That might be something I cook later in the week.....the things I do for this Photo scavenger hunt! :rolleyes1

Ellen, congrats!!!

Angie, glad you were able to cash in on that deal!

It was only 110 today... or maybe it was 112? We're on a heat strike but it's not humid heat. I mean, you feel like you're in an oven all the time but at least it's not a humid oven  I just hate to see our AC bill...

Our dinner tonight was amazing... like, the best meal I think we've ever had amazing. We'll have to go once a month.

Marilyn - You sound busy too. Your DSis must be very proud of her girls. Are we likely to see them at an Olympics any time soon?

The girls are 7 and 11 so we have a few years for that yet. The oldest one waffles as to whether she wants to continue with it. They are making her for now and might do so until she hits high school and then let her decide from there.

So it was DS' birthday this week and without knowing how, we seem to have gotten into a pattern of a 4-fold celebration. That's 4 cakes which I promised to share on this thread.

Cake #1 - At DS' party with friends, at the weekend. Vanilla Lemon cake.

2011July30Birthday107.jpg

Cake #2 - At home with us, on the day. Decadent Chocolate Mud Cake (I got the individual serves instead of a whole cake - no leftovers for unwanted snacking!).

2011August02001.jpg

Cake #3 - At school with his classmates. You've already seen these Vanilla Cupcakes with butter frosting.

2100August01ScavengerHunt051.jpg

Cake #4 - At my mum's with the extended family, Wednesday night dinner. Frozen Goodness Ice Cream cake.
