The What's for Dinner Thread- June 2012 (recipe index in OP)

Dinner last night was at Rams Head Tavern, in Savage, Maryland...

David had Swordfish and with crumbled lobster on top, greenbeans and rice
I had Salmon, with lumb crab over red mashed potatoes with a roasted Jalapeno Bearnaise sauce.

we each had a beer....

It was a great dinner.

Tonight dinner is pizza.... Homemade on a wheat crust for sure...

But I using the last of the carnitas as the protein... :)

Dinner tonight is Meatless Monday and we are having Boca Burgers, with Veggie Chips....

Last night was NOT Meatless Monday. We had home made burgers. :thumbsup2'

Tonight is Tuesday.....Meatless. Baked potato with all the trimmings!

Tonight is whatever Buddy can find :lmao: Last night Donny invited me to join them at a chicken place. Yup............that is what he said, some place that had just about only chicken. Oh my stars! It was delicious. I had wings and sweet potato fries. The rest of the crew had various types of homemade boneless wings and chicken "nuggets", which were really chicken boulders.

Every Monday this little restaurant donate 10% of their sales to a charity, so which ever organization reserves the Monday gets the money so we all ate for Parkinsons disease research yesterday.

Nancy, sounds like a great dinner and cause.

PIO- meatless Tuesday can work....

Tonight is Chicken Salad Salad, so I make Chicken Salad, from grilled chicken breast, with a very small amount of Mayo, then I make a huge green salad, and put the chicken salad in the middle of my salad.

Yummy, looking forward to it.

....a few weeks ago we went to Yankee stadium

where they were selling garlic fries and sliced steak-covered fries. Well, we had the steak ones, and boy oh boy, were they dee-LISH!! So, last night, I thin-sliced part-frozen London broil, sautéed it, make a bag of French fries, and cooked diced onions in a beef au jus gravy.....OMG, was that good!

Well Kim, that sounds a whole lot better than my dinner!

I should call it Drive-through-Tuesday. I ended up with a Sourdough Bacon Burger from Jack in the Box. At least it had bacon, but I am so sick of the same old drive through food. I wish that Fran wasn't in so much pain and getting out of the car wasn't such a hassle. Heck I'd even be happy for Subway every so often at this point!

Nancy, sounds like a great dinner and cause.

Brandi- this place reserves every Monday for a cause so last night Marisa and I shared it with our Relay for Life team captains. They have until August to raise money for their teams. i can see that I will be eating out on Mondays a lot this Summer!

How is Fran doing lately? I was hoping that she was pain free

Last night was Relay so we had leftovers. I have plenty of food cooked so Buddy turned something into sandwiches while I was out. I had leftover chicken scampi.

Tonight Buddy is taking us to to Red Robin, I think. He takes the girls out for dinner to celebrate anything that happens in school, and tonight is Nola's graduation celebration. She can choose anywhere she wants to go, but I think RR is her favorite.

Buddy started doing this when Kady was in Kindergarten. She was shy so everything she did made her anxious. He wanted her to know every accomplishment was celebration worthy so we would either go for dinner or for ice cream. I remember when she was "published" in the first grade. The kids would write a book, and Marisa would type them all up. At the end of the year, there was a special "reading", where the children would read their books to the audience. Kady could not read, not even to the 1st grade level, so it took her sooooooo long to get her book done, and I guess even her classmates applauded her when she got there. Buddy said from that time on, he was going to make sure that she knew how important reaching her goals were to him. So now I don't have to cook a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Nancy - Hope you enjoy Red Robin. :goodvibes

Alison - Drive Through Tuesday?? I might have to adopt that at some stage; except DH doesn't like fast food much.

Brandi - meatless Tuesday is really same-old spud Tuesday. But DH organises that dinner; so I don't complain much. :)

Kimmar - Yankee Stadium food sounds exotic! :thumbsup2 Your London broil sounds great.

Wednesday night dinner at mum's. Rice with belly pork, stir fry vegetable and chicken curry. I really love having dinner with my parents!::yes::

.....:rotfl: well, we don't have any Jack-in-the-Box restaurants around here, but I'd go with Subway too....

Hey, everyone! I am so sorry I haven't been around. I have no excuses, just been lazy about getting on here. Also, I have fallen horribly behind on the recipe index. If someone else wants to take over this thread when it is at it's limit, feel free.

Scott has been on vacation this week and I haven't cooked one blasted time, lol! It's back to the grind on Monday, though. I've kind of enjoyed not having to cook, to be honest, but I'm tired of eating out.

I hope everyone is doing well and I apologize for being a slacker.

No worries Lindsay. I've been a slacker too, just barely keeping my TR up to date and going. I haven't been cooking hardly at all either. You're doing a great job!

Lindsay! Nice to see you and to see how well you've done with the weight loss. You rock. :thumbsup2

You've really done well on the weight loss! I can really see it in your face. I don't think as hard as I would ever try I could get into size 8 pants! :rotfl:

Even at my fittest I was still 13/14!

It was meat for Monday today.

Home made burgers. This is turning out to be one of DS' favourite dinners.
